Urban Supreme Evil Young Master

As soon as those words left Leng Huai Xin’s mouth, Lu Yu’s body stiffened, and a hint of astonishment flashed across his face.

The things Leng Huai Xin was saying now lined up perfectly with what his parents had said in the video!

Seeing the shock on Lu Yu’s face, Leng Huai Xin took a drag of his cigarette, then said, ”When they said those words to me, I understood right away—they’d come that day to entrust you to me.”

His voice was low and heavy as he went on, ”It’s just a pity that before I even had time to look after you, I heard the news that you’d been in a shipwreck.”

His tone was faint, with a muted heaviness in it.

Hearing Leng Huai Xin’s words, Lu Yu merely nodded. He looked at the man in front of him and didn’t say anything.

Five years ago, he’d been thrown onto Paradise Island; that really had taken him away for a long time.

”But the change in you after you came back really surprised me.”

There was a subdued note in Leng Huai Xin’s voice. His eyes were fixed on Lu Yu, carrying a trace of appreciation.

”To be blunt, you were a mess five years ago.”

He paused for a moment, then said evenly, looking at Lu Yu, ”But it seems those five years of tempering did you a lot of good.”

Five years ago, Lu Yu had done nothing but eat, drink, and play, arrogant and overbearing—he really had been awful.

But Leng Huai Xin had already heard a bit about the current Lu Yu from Leng Qingqiu. Compared to five years ago, Lu Yu had undergone an earth‑shattering change.

That was why Leng Huai Xin was saying all this now.

”If your parents could see you now, they’d definitely be very happy.” Looking at Lu Yu, Leng Huai Xin spoke.

”What a pity.”

At that, Lu Yu said quietly, ”They can’t see it anymore…”

As he spoke, there was a muted sadness in his voice, thick with gloom.

No matter how outstanding he was now, his parents would never see it again.

”Ai.”

On hearing this, Leng Huai Xin let out a soft sigh. He looked at Lu Yu and said, ”Child, accept reality. You can’t live trapped in hatred, even if you now have some strength to take revenge.”

With that sigh, his gaze shifted back to Lu Yu.

Boom!

The moment those words came out, Lu Yu’s body jerked, as if struck by lightning.

You now have some strength to take revenge—those words meant Leng Huai Xin had a certain understanding of Lu Yu’s abilities!

Thinking of this, Lu Yu stared at him in astonishment, his eyes dark and shaken.

He had never imagined Leng Huai Xin would know about him!

”You don’t have to look at me with such a surprised expression.”

Noticing Lu Yu’s shocked gaze, Leng Huai Xin said, ”No matter how thick the hide, it can’t stop a sharp dagger. Your strength can’t be hidden.”

”Besides, I’ve been grinding it out in the business world for years—there’s no way you could hide it from me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have hinted to you about the Jin Family and the Zhou Family.”

His tone was calm and unhurried, every word suffused with shrewdness.

Hinted!

At that word, Lu Yu’s eyes went wide. He stared at Leng Huai Xin, utterly stunned.

Only now did he recall that his first leads to the Jin Family and the Zhou Family had all come from Leng Huai Xin!

It had never occurred to him that Leng Huai Xin’s moves back then had actually been hints aimed at him!

Thinking of this, Lu Yu looked at Leng Huai Xin, shock filling his gaze. He really hadn’t expected the man in front of him to have such a hand to play.

Always looking so unremarkable, yet having everything under control—this Leng Huai Xin really made Lu Yu see him in a new light!

With that thought, Lu Yu’s eyes locked onto Leng Huai Xin, his lips moving slightly before he asked, ”Uncle Leng, are you an enemy or an ally?”

As he spoke, he stared straight at Leng Huai Xin, his tone full of questioning.

Leng Huai Xin’s earlier remarks truly made a thread of tension coil in Lu Yu’s heart.

Those subtle hints delivered without a ripple on the surface—Lu Yu really felt that this man before him was anything but simple.

So Lu Yu didn’t bother circling around and asked directly.

”I was your parents’ best friend.”

Hearing Lu Yu’s question, Leng Huai Xin took a long pull on his pipe, slowly exhaled a cloud of white smoke, and said, ”So you tell me—enemy or ally?”

It was a mild counter‑question, his face calm, his expression completely composed.

”Uncle Leng.”

Hearing that, Lu Yu slowly reached out, picked up the teacup on the table, tilted his head back and drained it, then said, ”In these five years, I’ve been through a lot. If there’s nothing in the way, I prefer to be straightforward.”

As he spoke, his fingers suddenly tightened.

Ping!

With a crisp crack, the teacup in his hand shattered into fine powder. ”So I still hope you’ll answer my question head‑on.”

”Are you an enemy—or an ally?”

As he spoke, Lu Yu stared unblinkingly at Leng Huai Xin. Murderous intent surged in his eyes, though he kept it in check.

Right now he still had great hopes for Leng Huai Xin. As his parents’ friend, Lu Yu desperately wanted this man to be on his side.

But five years of experience had made him incomparably wary, so the killing intent in his gaze was laced with a thin strand of hope.

”You and I stand on the same side.”

Meeting Lu Yu’s unflinching gaze, Leng Huai Xin said, ”You’re exactly like your father—always wanting to put everything out in the open.”

”I promised your parents I’d take good care of you, but I failed to do that five years ago. Now, though, you already have the strength to wipe out three families. That kind of power is truly impressive.”

His voice was level, his words carrying a gentle warmth.

”Thank you.”

Hearing this, Lu Yu spoke softly. After those words from Leng Huai Xin, the weight pressing on his heart suddenly eased.

Just moments ago, he’d truly been afraid Leng Huai Xin would say he was an enemy.

After all, Leng Huai Xin had been his parents’ best friend back then!

Now, hearing his answer, Lu Yu finally let out a breath, feeling a huge weight lifted, his eyes full of relief.
