True Incubus: The Demon with No Limits

Above the hall, behind a wall of dark glass, someone watched.

Dr. Sable called her the instant she left Lucian in the Training Hall and she had been watching him from the observation room ever since she arrived.

An examiner stood beside her with a tablet in his hands.

”Lucian Cross.”

He began.

”Blood-Altered Human, or at least... that is the only way we could classify him.

He consumed High Incubus Blood and somehow, the blood has become a part of his body, increasing his strength, senses and regeneration, however, the power comes with a lack of control, the day he returned to his University, he injured four students and was charged with attempted murder.”

The woman behind the glass didn’t say anything.

She continued to observe silently, pretty much ignoring everything the examiner said. And the examiner didn’t feel offended, he didn’t have the guts to feel offended, he just stared at her in... silent awe.

The woman in front of him was breathtakingly beautiful, she had pale, flawless skin, sharp elegant features and dark hair that was loosely tied back with a few damp strands falling around her face.

She had calm, cold eyes that were filled with authority, they had a sense of certainty in them as if nothing would ever surprise her.

She wore a fitted black combat outfit that accentuated her curves and breathtaking figure, she was a woman who would make any man react to her beauty and presence, but even as this woman stood in front of him, the examiner didn’t dare make any moves, he didn’t even dare make any jokes because...

He knew better.

After the partner restraint drill, Instructor Rowan made the trainees do more drills, Vivienne only watched Lucian, she wasn’t interested in anyone else.

The examiner standing beside her knew that she wasn’t listening, but he was told to tell her everything, so he did.

”Considering that he had a clean record before consuming the blood, it is clear that the blood has had a strong effect on him, he is now violent, easily provokable, and dangerous—”

”That is enough.”

And finally, the woman spoke.

She had seen enough.

The examiner looked at her and—

”Lady Vivienne, I was told to te—”

He tried to say something but the moment Vivienne looked at him, he turned silent, not daring to utter another word from his mouth.

Then—

”Open the door.”

Vivienne commanded as she turned away from the glass.

”Lady Vivienne, Instructor Rowan is still conducting—”

Again, Vivienne looked at him, he stiffened, then he swallowed whatever he was about to say and quickly tapped something on the wall panel.

Below, as Instructor Rowan was about to begin the next drill, the door to the training hall opened, Rowan turned around and the instant he did, his expression changed.

”Lady Vivienne.”

He bowed his head.

The trainees froze.

Some of them straightened, some lowered their eyes, even the most arrogant of them all, Dorian Ashcroft, went still. He actually looked the worst of them all, his face turned pale, that cheeky, distasteful smile that he had on his face had completely disappeared.

Lucian blinked at the sudden change, even Mira standing beside him had straightened her back, her heartbeat hastened.

He turned towards the woman who had walked in and for a moment, even he froze.

She was... extraordinary.

She wasn’t just beautiful, the Aura around her was... something else. Something he had never sensed before.

Ever since Lucian had consumed Incubus Blood, he had had a particular sense, a sense that told him how... dangerous the person next to him was.

The first being he encountered, the demon, after consuming the blood, he instinctively knew how monstrously dangerous he was, the same was true for Claire, the first time she appeared, he knew if he did something foolish, it would not end well.

That woman he saw in Doctor Sable’s Wing, the Instructor here, his sense told him how dangerous all these people were.

But even then...

Even as he encountered these dangerous beings, the arrogant blood inside him never backed down, even though these people were strong, it knew that if it really came down to a death battle, even if he were to go down, he would take them with him.

But...

As he stood in front of this woman...

That demonic arrogance in his blood... disappeared.

His blood instinctively knew, that let alone taking her down with him, it would be a miracle if he could even touch her.

”Who... is she...?”

He whispered to Mira.

Mira blinked at those words.

”You... really are new.”

”Yes, this is my first day, now answer the question.”

Lucian spoke without turning his head away from that woman.

”She is Vivienne Everhart.”

She spoke in a low voice, however, before she could tell anything else, Vivienne was already here.

”...are you here to observe?”

Instructor Rowan asked, he was trying to look calm, but Lucian could hear his heartbeat, he could see how tense his body was.

”No.”

Vivienne said a single word and Rowan didn’t dare ask any other question.

The woman’s eyes then moved across the trainees, it paused at Dorian for a moment, the Ashcroft looked away instinctively, Vivienne didn’t care, she moved to Lucian and stared at his face, his eyes, his hands, his stance.

Lucian gulped, he felt like the medical tests had started again, only this time there were no machines.

Just... her.

She looked at him for a good 5 seconds, not a single person here said a word, until finally—

”I will take the next drill.”

Vivienne declared as she stood at the centre of the mat.

”Of course.”

Rowan bowed again.

Lucian watched him step aside without the slightest argument and that told him more than any explanation could.

Instructor Rowan was not a weak man, he was respected here, he had complete control over the room, yet when this woman said she would take over, he moved like it was the natural order of things.

The trainees looked nervous too, Dorian looked like he wanted to disappear.

”This night just became the worst...”

Mira groaned in an extremely low voice.

Lucian frowned at those words.

Someone this strong was going to train them—

How was that a bad thing...?

...

*Vivienne Everhart*
