NTR: Barbarian Harem Conquest

Kane sat up, rolling his shoulders to work out a knot of tension.

Tossing a fresh gown across the rumpled sheets, he watched his new prize stretch her limbs.

Sarah didn’t rush.

Sitting up slowly, she let the chill trace her bare skin.

Her large breasts swayed with her movements, proudly displayed for a fleeting second before she pulled the fabric over her head.

The material covered her curves, leaving just enough cleavage to remind him of her lust.

”You were good.”

”Just good?”

”Unfortunately. I have been with more lustful women than you.”

Sarah shrugged at his comparison.

”Grab the vault keys,” Kane ordered.

”You promised me an empire’s wealth. Time to pay the toll.”

Sarah smoothed the wrinkles from her new dress, her eyes reflecting a grounded loyalty.

”The Emperor kept three decoy vaults. Only my late husband knew the sequence for the true treasury. I memorized it while he slept.”

Misha stood near the shattered doorway, her golden rings pulsing with quiet observation.

”Lead the way. Do not attempt any false steps.”

Leaving the ruined bedroom behind, the trio navigated tunnels lined with cold basalt deep beneath the Canopy.

Sarah walked point, her hands steady as she bypassed a labyrinth of pressure plates that would have vaporized anyone less familiar with the Emperor’s paranoia.

’Years of feeding a tyrant’s greed turned her into a survivor.’

”You seem comfortable down here, Sarah,” Kane remarked, his voice bouncing off the low ceiling.

”You spent years helping the Emperor bleed the North dry. Now you serve me. Do you even have a line, or do you just pivot toward whoever holds the blade?”

Sarah paused near a rune-carved door, slicing her own palm with a hairpin to smear blood across the lock.

”Power is the only currency that matters, Kane. The Emperor was a leaking ship. You are the storm. I would rather navigate the storm than drown on a sinking wreck.”

Misha trailed behind them, scanning the walls with detached curiosity.

She remained silent, her presence acting as a calm weight in the claustrophobic passage.

’Misha doesn’t trust her,’ Kane noted.

Seals hissed open.

They stepped into the central chamber.

The air grew warm, smelling faintly of blooming jasmine.

It wasn’t filled with gold or piles of coin, but with wood.

Suspended in a cage of refined mana-conductors hovered a twisted, gnarled branch.

Kane stopped dead.

His jaw tightened as he felt the vitality radiating from the object.

”The Elven World Tree? That is not just a relic. That is their god-engine. Why is it sitting in a human capital?”

Sarah walked toward the mana-cage, her gown trailing over the floor.

”The Emperor didn’t just want protection. He wanted to siphon the tree’s pulse to build his own immortal warding array.”

”And you let him?” Kane demanded.

”You stood by while he turned a piece of their deity into a battery?”

Sarah turned, her eyes flashing with cynical clarity.

”I was his treasurer, not his conscience. I kept the ledgers. My job was ensuring the coffers stayed full, not lecturing a tyrant on his sins.”

Misha stepped forward.

She didn’t speak, but her gaze locked onto the branch.

She felt the power radiating from it.

”He did not just want power,” Sarah continued, her tone losing its defensive edge.

”Morvak didn’t lead the fleet to conquer land. He led it to sever the roots. He thought he was fighting for the throne. He didn’t realize the Emperor promised the Elven heart to the Southern Guilds for a piece of their immortality research. Morvak died for a lie, and I watched him swallow it whole.”

’If I pull this, the Elves won’t just be free. They will be indebted to me. Either way, the war changes today.’

”It isn’t a fragment of the tree,” Sarah corrected, pointing her painted nail at a jagged crystal embedded in the very center of the gnarled wood.

”That isn’t wood. It is a parasitic core. The branch is just the conduit. The crystal generates the power, but it needs the sap to stay active.”

Misha stepped closer.

Her golden rings pulsed in sync with the violet light.

She felt the parasite’s hunger.

It was a bottomless well, thirsty for the life-force of a god.

”The World Shard,” Kane muttered, his palm hovering inches from the violet pulse.

The room vibrated.

”If I take this, the city loses its shield. The entire warding array protecting the capital drops.”

”The city will be defenseless,” Sarah agreed, watching him closely.

”But you will hold the Shard. You could power an empire with that pulse.”

’I become the owner of the continent’s energy grid. Every noble, every guild, every king will have to come to me if they want their wards to keep running.’

He reached out, letting his hand hover near the violet light.

”If I take this, the rules of the land change,” Kane said, his voice dropping into a low growl.

”I won’t just be invading cities. I will be the one deciding who gets to survive the winter.”

Sarah watched him, her expression shifting from detached to genuinely curious.

”You really do intend to build a throne that lasts, don’t you?”

”I don’t play for high scores.”

With a sudden, decisive motion, he gripped the violet core.

The chamber screamed.

Emerald light flickered and turned to ash.

Stolen life-force flooded directly into Kane’s arm.

Sarah staggered backward.

Her hands flew to her ears to block out the high-pitched whine filling the room.

”What did you do? The walls... I can feel them shivering.”

Kane stood amidst the swirling dust.

Veins glowed with a violet luminescence beneath his skin.

He felt the entire city mapping itself inside his head, every alleyway, every hidden guard post, every secret cellar under the palace floor.

”The Emperor’s wards are gone,” Misha noted, her face filled with serene satisfaction.

”Your domain has overwritten his.”
