Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1274: Chapter 1274: Confirming Identity

Old Master Miao suddenly lifted his head. Hearing that she was the disciple of the Dongqing Temple master was an even bigger shock than when he heard she was Monarch Lu Xiang and that Meng Yunzheng was the foster son of Gong Qiu.

He stared at Shu Yu in disbelief, squinting his eyes after a long pause, “The Dongqing Temple master, has a disciple?”

“If you don’t believe it, my Lord, you can go to Dongqing Temple to inquire. A lie that can be exposed so easily, I have no reason to tell, right?”

Old Master Miao fell silent. If the other party were just an obscure, ignorant little girl, he probably wouldn’t have taken it to heart. But she was Monarch Lu Xiang, a girl valued by the Lord Tutor of the capital, with status and position. Her words carried weight.

He was somewhat surprised, not expecting that the Dongqing Temple master would actually accept her as a disciple.

But on second thought, the girl before him was no ordinary person. It’s not impossible for her to catch the Dongqing Temple master’s special eye.

“Just so, I’m planning to visit Dongqing Temple today. Would the two of you like to join me?”

He thought so, but Old Master Miao was a cautious person, naturally not accepting everything at face value.

Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng exchanged glances, “Sure, shall we go now?”

Time was not on their side, and Old Master Miao wanted to figure out their intentions as soon as possible, so he sent his attendant back to prepare the carriage and set off immediately.

Meng Yunzheng, thinking of the black market men watching from the food shop opposite the Miao Residence, stood up and said, “Old Master Miao, we’ll wait by the back gate of the Miao Residence.”

Old Master Miao gave them a meaningful look, nodded in agreement on account of Dongqing Temple, and had his attendant lead the carriage to the back gate.

Not only that, the attendant returned to the residence through the back gate as well.

This way, they managed to avoid the surveillance of the black market men.

As soon as the carriage was ready, they headed straight for Dongqing Temple outside the city.

By the time they arrived at Dongqing Temple, it was nearly noon, but the temple was still bustling with people.

Old Master Miao naturally went to see his sister’s longevity lamp first.

After paying his respects, he asked where Daoist Nun Qiu was at the moment.

The Guiding Daoist Nun in the temple glanced at Shu Yu and smiled, “Just now, seeing a few honored guests arrive, Senior Sister Qiu went to prepare the vegetarian dishes for you. They are in the Dining Hall. Please follow me.”

Old Master Miao was a bit surprised. That Daoist Nun Qiu went ahead to prepare the vegetarian dishes for them upon their arrival?

Having visited Dongqing Temple for many years, he thought he knew Daoist Nun Qiu well. She usually maintained her distance from people and wouldn’t usually take such actions, even for familiar faces.

Unable to help himself, Old Master Miao glanced at Shu Yu again and was the first to follow

Inside the Dining Hall, there were many people, but Daoist Nun Qiu had clearly set aside a separate room for them to dine.

“Senior Sister Qiu.” Shu Yu smiled as she lowered the curtain and stood beside Daoist Nun Qiu, “What good food have you prepared?”

With outsiders present, Daoist Nun Qiu was less chatty and much more serious, but her voice remained gentle, “Just the usual temple fare, nothing special. Please have a seat, my Lord.”

Seeing the familiarity between the two, Old Master Miao was inwardly certain of Shu Yu’s identity.

Once seated, they quietly began their meal. In such a place, no food would be wasted, and no one would speak loudly.

Even though Old Master Miao was anxious, he still ate with dignity and courtesy.

When they finished their meal, Old Master Miao laughed and looked at Daoist Nun Qiu, “Sage, I’ve heard that the Dongqing Temple master has accepted a disciple. Is that true?”
