Fully Leveled Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1135: Chapter 1135: The Strange-Faced Maid

The maid quickly said, “I saw Lady Lu coming out of the study, and Madam Yao is accompanying her in the flower hall, having cubilose porridge. Once she’s done, she’ll probably retire to her room to rest.”

Yao An’s eyes brightened slightly, and he clapped vigorously, telling the maid, “Alright, keep an eye on things. Come over later to get the tea.”

“Yes.”

The maid left again.

Yao An turned to the corner, opened a box placed there, and took out a pouch from inside.

The medicine inside was what he had bought after visiting several pharmacies in the afternoon. Consuming it would make people uncontrollably dazed and confused, a potent potion indeed.

Yao Hong closed the door, furrowing her brow as she walked up behind him, asking, “Brother, are you really going to do this?”

“Of course, this is the chance given to me by heaven, right here, right now. If I miss it, there won’t be another one.”

Yao An hadn’t expected Shu Yu to stay overnight at the Yao Family’s today. After buying the medicine, he was worried about how to use it. Originally, he thought about inviting her out another day under Aunt’s name, but who knew Shu Yu wouldn’t return tonight.

This is an opportunity of a lifetime—how could he miss it?

Initially, he saw Aunt preparing cubilose porridge for Shu Yu and wanted to add the medicine to it.

Unfortunately, Nanny Feng stayed by Aunt’s side the whole time, personally watching over the cubilose porridge, leaving no room for opportunity.

But that’s alright; there are still several chances.

Yao An opened the pouch and took out a packet of medicine, but as he opened it, he couldn’t help but frown—why did it seem like there was less medicine powder inside?

Before he could think more, Yao Hong behind him whispered, “Brother, I’m really uneasy about this. Aren’t we going too hastily? We haven’t prepared well, and we don’t even know much about this Lu Shuyu—what kind of person she is or what her family does, and to just recklessly…”

“Enough, at this point, what’s the use of saying this? Are we supposed to go to the Dongan Province to investigate her thoroughly? By then, the chance will be long gone.”

Yao Hong was scolded into silence, only pouting slightly displeased.

She still felt it was unfair to Wang Jiayi. If Lu Shuyu were to marry into the family, Sister Jiayi would only become a concubine, which was too unfair to her.

However, unbeknownst to her, Wang Jiayi was just outside the door. Hearing their conversation, she let out a low laugh. Seeing the maid that had left earlier rushing back, she quickly turned and returned to her room from another direction.

Once the maid entered, Yao An handed over the tea tray he was holding. “You know what to do, right?”

The maid took a deep breath, “Rest, rest assured, Young Master, I’ll handle it perfectly.”

“Go on.”

Shu Yu finished the cubilose porridge, rested for a while, and by the time she returned to the guest courtyard, it was already during 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Just as Shu Yu entered the house, Ying Xi was about to close the door when he noticed a maid approaching.

The maid appeared unfamiliar, though Yao Family’s servants were few that they’d seen.

Ying Xi paused his hand on the door, asking her, “What’s the matter?”

“Madam instructed me to bring a pot of tea for the lady, as the tea in the room has gone cold. The lady just finished the cubilose porridge; a bit of tea would be perfect to clear the palate.”

Ying Xi let her in, and the maid placed the tea tray down, taking away the old teapot.

“Lady, have an early rest.”
