Before Madam Hooch’s whistle could sound, a figure had already rushed forward.

Neville Longbottom.

The reason he started early was because he had encountered obstacles everywhere since the beginning of the school year, so deep in his heart, he had a strong desire:

’I really want to be better!’

In fact, the moment he made this move, he already knew he was doomed.

At this moment, eleven years of experiences flashed through his mind like scenes from a movie.

’Am I going to die?

They say people only recall their life experiences when they’re about to die.

What a pity...

Grandmother had said that originally, I too had a chance to become the Chosen One...’

Just when he thought he was definitely going to die.

Powerful resistance suddenly came from behind him.

A pair of strong arms forcibly held him down in an extremely rough manner.

It was like a car that had just been put into first gear, accelerated with the gas pedal, and then suddenly had its brakes slammed.

The car stopped in place, its rear wheels spinning continuously.

The tail of Neville’s flying broomstick maintained a high-frequency trembling, as if unwilling to be conquered in such an unmagical way.

However, this was completely useless.

All flying broomsticks have a layer of Flying Charm attached to their surface, though the spell’s effect and range are limited.

Especially the flying broomsticks used for classes.

Just like driving instructor cars, they meet the minimum economic requirements—as long as they work.

So, no matter how much it struggled, it was futile.

The more it struggled, the more excited the person stopping it from taking off became.

This was exactly what made it interesting.

Everyone was shocked by this scene.

Sherlock!

He had actually managed to forcibly hold back Neville, who was about to take off, with his own strength.

And why was his strength so great?

In the struggle between the two sides, the broomstick finally gave up its resistance.

The result was that Neville only led the others by one body length but couldn’t manage to fly up.

”Merlin’s beard!”

Madam Hooch was the first to react. While shouting the universal exclamation of the wizarding world, she ran toward Neville.

No one knew better than her what would happen if Neville flew off early.

A person who couldn’t control a flying broomstick taking to the sky—if lucky, they’d only break their wrist.

If unlucky... it was hard to say what would break.

While checking Neville’s body with lingering fear, she sincerely thanked Sherlock: ”Thank you so much! Child, are you alright?”

”The flying broomstick has great thrust, but it’s not hard to handle if you’re prepared in advance.”

Sherlock shook his arms and said truthfully.

”Your strength is really great. It’s hard to imagine someone who looks so thin would be so powerful...”

After confirming that Neville was unharmed, the relieved Madam Hooch asked in belated surprise:

”By the way, how did you see that this child would act prematurely? You haven’t started Divination classes yet, have you?”

Hearing Madam Hooch’s question, all the students pricked up their ears.

After all, in the wizarding world, prophecy was truly mysterious.

After all, the fact that the Chosen One would end the Dark Lord’s rule had come in the form of a divination prophecy.

But at this moment, the prophesied Chosen One knew full well that this had nothing to do with divination.

Sherlock must have judged that Neville would have an accident through some details that others hadn’t noticed.

Ron and Hermione shared the same thought.

After all, they had all witnessed Sherlock’s abilities more than once.

Sherlock indeed didn’t disappoint them.

”This has nothing to do with divination...”

Sherlock pointed at Neville and explained calmly and composedly:

”When people are overly nervous, they secrete hormones like adrenaline, dopamine, and cortisol. Under their influence, they often do things that go against common sense.

Obviously, through some of his actions, I could easily determine this and took emergency measures in advance.”

”Obviously?”

Madam Hooch couldn’t quite follow Sherlock’s reasoning.

”Yes, for example, his hands gripping the stick turned white, his limbs twitched in abnormal rhythms, and his face showed abnormal flushing...

Of course, most importantly, I understand this classmate’s personality, so I deduced there was a high probability he would make a premature takeoff due to worrying about being left on the ground.”

”But how do you know that people secrete what-what-ine when they’re nervous...”

”Adrenaline, dopamine, cortisol—this is common knowledge, Madam Hooch.”

Madam Hooch: (≖_≖ )

’How come I don’t know this kind of common knowledge!’

After Sherlock finished speaking, everyone was stunned.

Only Harry, Ron, and Hermione showed expressions of ”as expected.”

Harry looked at Sherlock with admiration.

Although this had happened more than once, every time something similar occurred, he would have the same feeling.

Before Sherlock explained, he felt the matter was so incredible.

After Sherlock explained, it made people feel the reasoning was so simple.

In any case, Sherlock’s action saved Neville, which made Madam Hooch generously award Gryffindor six points.

Sherlock was satisfied—this way he could offset the loss from not attending two Defense Against the Dark Arts classes.

After this incident, the rest of the flying lesson proceeded normally.

Most people performed normally and successfully completed their first flight test.

Except for Neville.

He was forbidden by Madam Hooch from flying in this class.

Neville didn’t mind this.

At this moment, he was holding a glass ball filled with white smoke, saying to Hermione, who was also staying on the ground:

”Grandmother knows I’m always forgetful, so she had an owl send me a Remembrall. It tells you if you’ve forgotten something.

Like this, hold it tight, and if it turns red, it means you’ve forgotten something...”

He stopped here.

Because the moment he gripped the Remembrall, it suddenly glowed bright red.

Neville: Σ(っ°Д°;)っ

Hermione: (;′⌒`)

Neville immediately tried desperately to remember what he had forgotten.

Hermione sighed and looked up at the sky. She hadn’t been forbidden from flying.

However, during her test flight, she suddenly discovered something very frustrating.

She wasn’t good at flying.

Although it wasn’t as bad as Neville’s situation, compared to the effortless feeling she had with other subjects, flying class was obviously much worse.

Especially when flying to a certain height, she didn’t dare look down.

Otherwise, her legs would tremble, making it impossible to continue.

Stubborn as she was, she naturally wouldn’t give up like this.

Unfortunately, after several attempts, she still couldn’t overcome this fear.

So, she could only return to the ground to rest.

Of course, her performance was considered passing by Madam Hooch.

But in Hermione’s eyes, not getting excellent meant failure.

Not to mention that now she couldn’t even reach good level, barely managing to pass.

Especially...

Hermione looked up.

It was one thing for Harry and Sherlock to be better than her, but even the Weasley redhead and Seamus, who constantly caused explosions in class, looked completely at ease.

This was really hard for her competitive nature to accept.
