Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 300: Chapter 300: Is Gong Yu Dead?

”Gong Yu is also your friend, isn’t he?”

Yang Xiao retorted.

”Pfft, I’m no friend of his. See this? This eye was blinded by that bastard Gong Yu.”

Wang Meng had been seeking someone to vent his anger on for some time, and now with Yang Xiao, a friend of Gong Yu, appearing in front of him, he finally had the chance to release his pent-up wrath.

He didn’t care whether Yang Xiao and Gong Yu were actually good friends; as long as he was Gong Yu’s friend, he would hold a grudge.

Hearing this, Yang Xiao was momentarily stunned and asked:

”Gong Yu has a feud with you? Where is he now?”

”Hehe, I killed him already. Now that you know, you can die with a clear understanding. Brothers, attack, and be careful not to hurt the horse.”

Saying this, Wang Meng advanced towards Yang Xiao with five men.

Yang Xiao roughly understood the situation and didn’t hold back; the Longquan Spear in his hand transformed into a bolt of Lightning as he charged towards Wang Meng.

As a wielder of the Enhanced Gene Intermediate level, Wang Meng knew the danger. Seeing Yang Xiao charging on a Flame Horse, he felt a chill and immediately activated his Defensive Light Shield, while retreating swiftly backward.

Crack!

Yang Xiao’s spear struck the Defensive Light Shield, shattering it into dozens of pieces, causing it to collapse instantly.

Currently, Yang Xiao’s strength reached 50 points, plus 8 points from the Longquan Spear totaling 58 points, nearing the strength attribute of a High-Level Enhanced Gene user. Coupled with the ramming force of the fast-charging Flame Horse, the attack’s damage greatly surpassed Wang Meng’s defensive capabilities.

A shock jolted through Wang Meng, realizing the dire situation and that he had underestimated Yang Xiao.

However, this was the territory of the Ice River Academy. They were six people strong and weren’t about to retreat in fear.

”Brothers, use your Soul Skills, and let’s fiercely take him down.”

Thus, all six unleashed their Soul Skills; especially Wang Meng, who with hand movements conjured a giant twenty-meter-long crocodile tail that slashed fiercely at Yang Xiao, while the rest attacked with Wolf Claws, bear paws, Elemental Fireballs, and more.

In their eyes, Yang Xiao was trapped with no escape.

But the next second, everyone was stunned.

They saw a flash of red cloud; Yang Xiao, riding the Flame Horse, instantly passed through the gap between two men, thrusting his Longquan Spear effortlessly and ending the life of an Elemental Mage.

Simultaneously, the Giant Eagles in the sky fired a barrage of Fiery Feathered Arrows at Wang Meng and his group, exploding right in front of them as dozens of arrows whistled through the air.

Wang Meng reacted quickly, retreating swiftly upon hearing the screech of the Fiery Feathered Arrows. The other two Primary Level Enhanced Gene experts also narrowly escaped, while the remaining two were blown away by the explosive blast.

Yang Xiao reined in the Flame Horse, turned around, and with another thrust of his spear, killed another man.

In the blink of an eye, Yang Xiao and the Giant Eagles had slain four men, leaving only Wang Meng and another Werewolf.

Seeing Yang Xiao’s ferocity, the Werewolf was terrified and fell to his knees with a thud, begging:

”Brother, don’t kill me, don’t kill me. It’s a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding.”

Yang Xiao glanced at Wang Meng, whose legs were also trembling. He had never imagined that Yang Xiao could be so formidable. What kind of friend was he to Gong Yu?

”Heh, Wang Meng, do you still want my Flame Horse now? This is a treasure I bought from the desert for a million Crystal Coins; do you want it?”

Wang Meng was tempted; he once had dinner with Xie Dong and Liu Yiyi and heard Liu Yiyi talk about encountering a Flame Horse during her training in the desert. He was fascinated by the magical, incredibly fast creature and mentioned he would have bought it if he had enough Crystal Coins.

”This, you brought this from the desert? The Flame Horse?”

”Yeah, you know about the desert?”

”I haven’t been there, I heard about it from Liu Yiyi.”

”Liu Yiyi, that bitch? And what’s really going on with you and Gong Yu? Where is Gong Yu now?”

”Do you know Liu Yiyi?”

”Hmph, I knew that bitch in the desert, along with Xie Dong. I intentionally said Xie Dong was a friend of Gong Yu just now, didn’t expect you to play along. I’ve long known that Xie Dong and Gong Yu are mortal enemies. Now tell me, where is Gong Yu?”

Wang Meng quickly calculated in his mind, they were only about two kilometers away from Magic City University. As long as he could run back quickly, what could Yang Xiao do even if he chased after him?

No matter how powerful Yang Xiao was, could he take on the entire Magic City University?

Seeing that Yang Xiao seemed to care a lot about Gong Yu, he decided to take a risk and provoke Yang Xiao.

”Gong Yu, he’s already dead!”

”Nonsense, how could Gong Yu be dead?”

The information Yang Xiao received from Zhou Jian was that Gong Yu had his hand chopped off by Xie Dong. Now, Wang Meng was claiming he was dead, which made Yang Xiao unsure whether to believe it or not, considering that so much time had passed and anything could have happened.

Yang Xiao became agitated and exclaimed:

”You say Gong Yu is dead? Who killed him?”

Wang Meng sneered:

”Of course it was Xie Dong. Xie Dong and Gong Yu were fighting over Liu Yiyi. They dueled, and Xie Dong killed him.”

”Really killed by Xie Dong?”

A surge of immense grief and regret welled up in Yang Xiao’s heart. He and Gong Yu had hit it off at first sight, especially since Gong Yu had dueled with Liu Yiyi to help him; since then, he always considered Gong Yu a brother.

Yang Xiao, always a man of deep loyalty, felt somewhat dazed hearing about Gong Yu’s death.

Wang Meng, cunning as ever, transformed into a huge crocodile in an instant and pounced towards Yang Xiao.

Meanwhile, another werewolf kneeling on the ground also suddenly sprang up, making a swipe at Yang Xiao through the air.

In his daze, Yang Xiao felt two powerful killing auras approaching. Startled, just as he was about to counterattack, his steed, the Flame Horse, swiftly dashed out, covering a distance of several tens of meters.

Wang Meng, failing to hit his target, immediately changed back to his original form and ran towards the gates of Ice River Academy.

Yang Xiao, coming back to his senses, was about to chase Wang Meng when he saw the attacking werewolf beside him and immediately thrust his spear.

The werewolf had just broken through the Primary Enhanced Gene level. Even though he was the same level as Yang Xiao, Yang Xiao’s strength and agility had already surpassed 50 points. Coupled with the incredible speed of his Flame Horse, the two were not on the same level at all.

The werewolf had just unleashed his Wolf Claw when he was stabbed in the shoulder by Yang Xiao’s spear, causing him excruciating pain as he fell to the ground.

Then, he felt a silver long spear at his throat.

”Tell me, was Gong Yu killed by Xie Dong?”

The werewolf, terrified, instinctively blurted out:

”Yes,”

Then, realizing something was amiss, he quickly added, ”Ah, no,”

Before he could finish speaking, he felt a pain in his throat,

”Putsh”,

Yang Xiao’s long spear had pierced his throat.

By this time, Wang Meng had already run a considerable distance. Although Yang Xiao’s Giant Eagle chased after him, firing Fiery Flame Arrows, Wang Meng’s Intermediate Enhanced Gene abilities meant that although he might not defeat the Giant Eagle, escaping was still no issue.

The Giant Eagle kept firing Fiery Flame Arrows, the explosions alarming the guards at Ice River Academy. Patrol teams and birdman squads were already assembling from inside the campus.

Yang Xiao called out to the distant Giant Eagle and rode his Flame Horse towards the direction of the Financial Building.

”Gong Yu, rest assured, I will eventually kill Xie Dong and avenge you, and that bitch Liu Yiyi too.”
