Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Fight or Surrender?

Yang Xiao’s ”One Finger Splitting Earth” caught everyone off guard, even Xie Jun and others nearby almost got caught in it, forcing them to hastily retreat several meters.

Both sides’ personnel immediately raised their weapons, ready to initiate the skirmish.

After the huge spike disappeared, a large pit was left on the ground, and Du Tian was unlucky enough to fall into it.

However, Yang Xiao didn’t make any further moves. Xie Jun, who was originally ready to strike back immediately, saw that Yang Xiao wasn’t continuing his attack and temporarily canceled his retaliation.

Yang Xiao’s Soul Skill left Xie Jun extremely shocked; it was the most powerful Soul Skill he had ever seen to date.

At that moment, the Transmission Array’s light flickered, and Xiao Zhe together with Zhao Gang led 800 troops who all arrived.

The people from Xianan University immediately cheered and were encouraged. The combined forces of the two schools totaled over fifteen hundred people, outnumbering Xie Jun’s forces and gaining an edge in terms of numbers and momentum.

Yang Xiao, with a ”buzz”, activated his Defensive Light Shield and took a few steps forward. Long Yongjun, seeing the situation, also quickly followed, standing beside Yang Xiao and activated his Defensive Light Shield as well.

Pointing at Xie Jun, Yang Xiao said:

”So you’re the boss of the city district, right?”

Xie Jun quickly recovered from his shock and said indifferently:

”That’s right, my name is Xie Jun, temporarily in command of Nanmu City and the territories of over a dozen Genetic Stores.”

With a wave of his hand, Yang Xiao said:

”Today you come to Xianan University, to fight or to make peace, the choice is yours. I’ll give you three minutes to decide.”

Xie Jun suddenly looked dumbfounded at Yang Xiao. This kid dares to give me three minutes to decide?

It has always been me giving others time to think. Now it’s this kid’s turn to give me time?

”Who the hell are you? What’s your ranking?”

Du Tian crawled out of the pit, covered in dirt and fury, shouting.

”My name is Yang Xiao, the boss of Kongming Academy. Xianan University and Kongming Academy are in alliance, sharing life and death. Bullying Xianan University is the same as insulting us at Kongming Academy, so today we either come to peace or fight to the death.”

After finishing his words, Yang Xiao suddenly raised his volume and shouted:

”Brothers and sisters, get ready to fight!”

”Yes!”

Over a thousand students from the two schools shouted together, their morale soaring high. The troops of various armed forces immediately prepared themselves for battle.

Xie Jun felt that today was surely an unlucky day; he should have consulted an almanac before leaving home.

Xie Jun’s people were all dumbfounded.

This was completely different from what they had imagined. How did the two schools manage to have sixteen hundred people equipped with Hard Armor? Where did they get so many Hard Armors? I have barely managed to scrape together over a thousand pieces by robbing more than a dozen Genetic Stores.

Although Xie Jun’s side had around forty experts at the Primordial Gene Primary Stage, it seemed that the opposing side also had quite a number, at least a dozen. Most importantly, Yang Xiao’s ”One Finger Splitting Earth” Soul Skill was terrifyingly powerful. Such a mass-damage ability would be greatly advantageous in large-scale battles.

If both sides fought to the death, it was really uncertain who would win or lose.

For the first time facing the opposition, everyone, including Xie Jun himself, lost their confidence in certain victory.

To battle or to make peace?

Xie Jun was extremely conflicted for a moment.

Hesitant for a while, Xie Jun decided to take a gamble. He gestured with his hand, and two people carried a heavy machine gun out from the crowd, setting it up at the front. The gunner aimed at Yang Xiao and others.

”Oh!”

People from Kongming Academy and those from Xianan University gasped at the sight of the heavy machine gun.

Although everyone’s genetic evolution level had improved a bit, they hadn’t reached the point of being immune to blades and bullets, especially not against such high-speed thermal weaponry.

Du Tian sneered from the side:

”Kid, do you realize how formidable it is now? Surrender or I’ll shoot you dead.”

Xie Jun looked at Yang Xiao coldly and said:

”You gave me three minutes just now, well, I’m also giving you three minutes to think it over, surrender or fight? There’s no peace offer.”

Yang Xiao gave him the option of fighting or peace, while Xie Jun’s counteroffer to Yang Xiao was fight or surrender, with no option for both parties to withdraw troops and settle for peace.

Yang Xiao internally did not wish to have a decisive battle with Xie Jun.

Yang Xiao turned his head to glance at Xia Luo behind him, and Xia Luo said firmly:

”Yang Xiao, you decide. We all support you!”

Yang Xiao nodded, then said to Xie Jun:

”Such thermal weaponry will eventually become ineffective in the process of genetic evolution. Even if you can temporarily dominate with a few broken guns, you can’t rule forever. You should understand this better than I do.”

”Heh, I don’t need you to tell me that, I know. As long as humans continue to evolve and the defense attribute continues to increase, eventually we’ll be immune to blades and bullets. But right now, my job is to use guns while they still have an effect, to seize as much territory and resources as I can. After all, the path to future evolution is a competition for resources.

Kid, I see both you and Xia Luo are talented. I genuinely want to take you guys in, and work with me— I ensure you two will get more evolution resources. How about it?”

Upon hearing this, Du Tian, Feng Lei, and Zhou Hua all felt their hearts skip a beat. If Yang Xiao and Xia Luo did surrender to Xie Jun, their own positions within the group would definitely plummet.

Du Tian immediately shouted loudly:

”Kid, our boss’s patience is limited, make a decision quick, or else I’ll shoot you dead right here.”

Yang Xiao clenched his teeth and said:

”Three minutes? I don’t need it. I can answer you right now. My decision is...”

Everyone held their breath, watching Yang Xiao, waiting for him to verbalize his decision.

Yang Xiao suddenly pointed at the location of the heavy machine gun,

”Fight!”

With a loud boom, a giant spike erupted from the snowy ground, flipping people within a radius of twenty or thirty meters into the air, including the heavy machine gun, and those ready to operate it were flipped over too.

Yang Xiao didn’t stop there. He repeatedly used the skill ’One Finger Splitting Earth’ over a dozen times towards Xie Jun’s forces, wreaking havoc on the front lines and flipping over at least 300 people.

Yang Xiao’s ’One Finger Splitting Earth’ was an area-of-effect skill. Although the single-target damage wasn’t high, the surrounding people couldn’t escape from the spikes’ onslaught.

Taking advantage of the chaos in Xie Jun’s front lines, Xia Luo also shouted loudly,

”Attack!”

The archer squad and the elemental mages opened fire collectively. Those who were in the very front had just been flipped over and hadn’t managed to get back up when they immediately suffered a more fatal blow.

In a moment, Xie Jun’s forces suffered casualties of several dozen dead and hundreds injured.

Xie Jun was trembling with rage and immediately organized his troops to counterattack.

A massive battle thus broke out, deciding who would be the king of the territory extending hundreds of kilometers around Nanmu City.

It must be said that Xie Jun’s forces were indeed valiant, especially the forty individuals at the Primordial Gene Primary Stage, whose attacks caused significant damage to Yang Xiao’s side.

Yang Xiao’s side had more people, but overall, a lower genetic evolution level. However, they were fighting to protect their homes, so their will to fight was even stronger.
