Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 120: Chapter 120 Giant Eagle Reappears

In the past, reading novels, watching TV dramas, and movies often brought forth phrases like ”compete for dominance in the Central Plains,” but he never thought that one day, they would genuinely speak of ”competing for the world.”

Zhou Qiang stared blankly at Xia Luo.

Xia Luo smiled and said:

”Zhou Qiang, do you remember the history of Xuanming Country, like the Seven Warring States, the Three Kingdoms, etc.?”

Zhou Qiang nodded.

”Remember, this is a post-apocalyptic era, also a chaotic time. In the future Xuanming Country, there will definitely be fierce struggles, stories of the Seven Warring States, Liu Bang and Xiang Yu, the Three Kingdoms, all will be reenacted.

This is the worst of times, also the best of times, a time for heroes to emerge, magnificent dreams of horses and chariots conquering vast lands will come true with us, provided you have enough strength to conquer the world. You must mentally prepare for this in advance.

I can tolerate Yang Xiao because he is a talent. I hope that one day, he can also lend me a helping hand.”

...

Zhou Qiang walked out of Xia Luo’s office, feeling a bit excited, his mind replaying Xia Luo’s bold words about world domination, yet he felt a vague unease within.

In history, every major conflict has been bloody, with mountains of corpses.

Xia Luo now prioritizes supplying Genetic Fragments to the elite guards, showing his far-sighted vision and mentality that is beyond ordinary people.

He thought of Yang Xiao, who, to avoid the possible severe cold, went through great trouble to dig a cellar to protect everyone.

Yang Xiao must know to prioritize enhancing his genetic potential to have strong resistance, yet he did not forget others.

A cold wind blew by, and Zhou Qiang couldn’t help but shiver.

”Surviving the post-apocalypse is not easy. Cherish life while you can; we can’t even manage today’s affairs, let alone tomorrow’s.”

...

A main peak of Biyun Mountain, with four surrounding peaks, Kongming Academy occupies only one of the peaks, while Xianan University occupies three.

Of course, near Kongming Academy, there are vast farmlands, hilly areas, and some small valleys, places with open terrain and various small mutated creatures.

Yang Xiao, leading Long Yongjun and others, fought their way to the crest of the peaks. Standing atop this small mountain peak, they could see the main peak of Biyun Mountain dozens of kilometers away.

The people from Xianan University had already dispersed the dense fog surrounding the main peak, but around 2 kilometers of the main peak remained shrouded in thick mist.

Everyone sat on a rock on the mountain peak, taking out their carried dry rations and water to eat.

Behind Yang Xiao was a ten-person team sent by the logistics department, following to collect the bodies of the hunted mutated animals.

Today’s biggest haul was a group of rabbits. These mutated rabbits no longer resembled rabbits; they were more like pre-apocalypse big dogs, with large physiques, sharp fangs, and claws, ferocious as ever.

There were eight of these mutated rabbits, two large ones, a male and a female, and six slightly smaller ones. Yang Xiao and his team chased them all over the mountain until they were finally killed.

Now hunting mutated creatures aims at collecting meat, with Genetic Fragments just being a secondary purpose.

”Boss, the wind here is so strong and cold.”

Long Yongjun wrapped his jacket tighter around himself.

Yang Xiao glanced again at Qin Yu, Deng Xiao, and Chen Fei.

These girls were still in autumn clothes; the wind at the mountaintop blew so hard they shivered, their faces turning blue.

”Long Yongjun, inform the logistics team behind us to skin those six rabbits properly and give one rabbit skin each to Qin Yu, Deng Xiao, and Chen Fei for making clothes.”

The three girls were delighted upon hearing this.

The thought of the white fluffy rabbit fur warmed their hearts.

Long Yongjun agreed but suddenly asked:

”There are eight rabbit skins, how about making one for me too?”

Yang Xiao rolled his eyes at him directly:

”You’re young and strong, with such high genetic development levels; will the wind freeze you to death? Forget about the rabbit skin, Huang Wen, Dai Yun, Chen Lu, and Feifei could use it.”

Qin Yu and the others looked at Long Yongjun, laughing secretly.

Long Yongjun, not convinced, said:

”Feifei is so fat, with thick fat already; what does she need rabbit skin for?”

Just then, a sharp cry came from the sky, and everyone looked up to see a large bird flying towards the mountain peak.

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao immediately stood up, activating their Beast Souls, leaping into the air to hunt the large bird.

The large bird seemed unafraid and flew directly towards both of them.

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao immediately launched a siege on the large bird, feather arrows whizzing through the air.

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao’s Agility and Strength had improved, and their Feather Arrow Skill had already been elevated to level 4, with attack range reaching over 70 meters.

The large bird looked fierce, with spread wings firing a feather arrow from each wing, which turned into a ball of flame with a boom when it was a few meters away from them.

”These are Flame Feather Arrows!”

Yang Xiao and others stood atop the mountain, watching the battle unfold.

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao engaged in a fierce battle with the bird, neither side gaining the upper hand.

Both feigned defeat and flew back towards the peak.

Yang Xiao readied his bow, Chen Fei with an Ice Ball in hand, only Long Yongjun was unable to attack from a distance.

Qin Yu and the others flew closer, the large bird behind them continually firing Flame Feather Arrows in pursuit.

Yang Xiao, with extraordinary eyesight, saw clearly when the large bird was about a hundred meters from the mountain and felt that the bird looked very familiar.

As Yang Xiao searched his memory, Qin Yu and Deng Xiao had already flown back to the mountaintop, and Yang Xiao, no longer thinking, instinctively drew his bow and shot an arrow.

Yang Xiao’s Feathered Arrow was already level 6, and when the arrow was a few meters away from the large bird, it suddenly exploded into seven Arrow Shadows.

The large bird was caught off guard and hit by two Arrow Shadows, letting out a piercing screech, and turned to flee.

Qin Yu and Deng Xiao wouldn’t let such a good opportunity slip.

They had long circled from mid-air to intercept the direction of the bird’s escape, unleashing a barrage of arrows like rain onto the bird.

Yang Xiao quickly added a few shots, and the large bird was hit by several more arrows.

However, the bird’s Defense seemed impressive, as it continued to fly and fight tenaciously, screaming constantly as it called out.

The bird was clever, flying away from the peak so Yang Xiao’s arrows couldn’t reach it, and didn’t seem that afraid of Qin Yu and Deng Xiao’s feather arrows.

Moments later, an even louder cry echoed in the air,

”Gah——”

Yang Xiao felt a tremor in his heart, looking up to see a big black dot rapidly approaching from the direction of Biyun Mountain’s main peak.

A light suddenly flashed in Yang Xiao’s mind.

”Isn’t this the call of the Giant Eagle that grabbed those Rohu fish at the pool some days ago? No wonder the bird seemed familiar; it’s a smaller Giant Eagle!”

Trouble!

Yang Xiao called out in his heart, shouting towards the sky:

”Qin Yu, come back, it’s dangerous!”

”Deng Xiao, come back, it’s dangerous!”
