A Journey That Changed The World.

Chapter 1231: Can You Join Me Leira

ʼLooks like they were heading straight for the hill Ashoka was at,ʼ he thought to himself while they passed through the dark woodlands.

Archer was on the road while seeing the legionsʼ tracks and following them until they reached a dense woodland that stretched for miles. As he studied this, just as Thalion and Ravok joined him.

The two men stood a couple feet taller them himself. He glanced at the Oathkeepers from the corner of his eyes. ”Why did the girls have to make you giants?” he questioned with a chuckle. ”You make me look small now.”

Thalion started laughing which caught Ravok who went stiff causing Archer to comment, ”Relax man, I ainʼt going to eat you if you laugh Rav.”

Following that, the Oathkeeper Commander spoke in a serious tone, ”My King, is it wise to travel by foot to this dangerous land? Why not fly or using the Airforce?”

Archer glanced at the armored man before answering, ”Because thatʼs boring. Being out here on foot while searching for my fiancee and missing legions is enjoyable as Iʼm not staying back, letting others do it like most rulers would.”

The two knights exchanged surprised glances, their stoic expressions faltering for a moment. But it was Ravok who broke the silence, his voice low but tinged with a mix of awe and disbelief.

”Youʼre unlike any king Iʼve heard of,” he said, his words heavy. ”Most are too lazy or indifferent to care for their soldiers, too distant to understand the hardships we face. Yet here you are, sleeping in the same tents, fighting beside us as one of our own.”ʼ

”That is me Ravok, but letʼs look for Ashoka and the other legions,” he said as the seven of them continued their journey.

For half a day, Archer trudged through the wilderness until he stumbled upon the grim aftermath of a battle. Dead bodies of Draconians and Alliance soldiers littered the ground amidst shattered weapons.

As Archer stood there, his eyes scanning the horizon while thinking, ʼLooks like theyʼve been fighting the enemy from the very beginning of their journey.ʼ

The metallic scent of blood hung heavy in the air, which caused him to let out a low growl. As he surveyed the carnage, his violet eyes flared with an intense, unearthly glow, a manifestation of the fury simmering within him.

ʼHundreds are dead,ʼ he thought bitterly, his gaze sweeping over the fallen warriors. His fists clenched as he forced himself to focus. ʼIʼll store them in my Item Box until we get back to Emberport.ʼ

Archer knelt by the bodies of his fallen soldiers, his expression a mixture of grief and determination as he began storing them in his Item Box. His voice was steady but heavy with emotion as he addressed the Oathkeepers, who stood silently nearby.

”ʼYou know,” he said, not looking up, ”Most races die twice. Once when the breath leaves their body, and again when the last person who remembers them speaks their name.”

The knights exchanged glances but said nothing as he was storing the hundreds of dead soldiers, their silence filled with respect as Archer continued. ”I will ensure that every Draconian who falls in battle will be remembered forever. When I conquer the world, Iʼll build monuments across the empire to honor them as heroes, ensuring they arenʼt forgotten.”ʼ

Following that, they continued on, only to find more battlefields every few miles that forced Archer to collect all the bodies. Thousands had been killed as Duskfire and Moonriver forces ambushed the three legions.

ʼWe were surprised in the west and should have acted smarter,ʼ he thought, a flicker of annoyance flashing across his face.

He saw many fire and water elf bodies among the fields of the dead. While standing at the edge of one, Thalion appeared beside him, ”My King, it looks like they were getting attacked hourly at this rate.”

Archer turned to the knight, but the moment shattered as a searing, unbearable pain tore through his body. He staggered, his breath catching as the agony radiated from deep within, tied unmistakably to Ashoka.

ʼWhatʼs happening?!ʼ he thought, his mind racing even as he clenched his teeth, struggling to maintain composure.

Seconds later, the excruciating pain slowly went away, leaving Archer drenched in sweat, his brow glistening. As his mind cleared, a vision popped into his mind. He saw before him a massive, murky swamp that stretched out in all directions.

This was where the 9th Legion fought fiercely against nightmarish creatures that seemed to rise from the very earth itself. His heart pounded in his chest at the thought of Ashoka getting hurt angered him.

He couldnʼt afford to wait any longer and got a good idea. Without hesitation, Archer raised his hand and summoned a swarm of Venomwings that soared through the air as he commanded them to rush to Ashokaʼs side.

Then he summoned a swarm of Nightmare Ants to help him collect the dead bodies and directed them to gather the fallen Draconians. The creature would bring them to him as their numbers growing with each passing moment.

Archer and the Oathkeepers moved west along a well-worn trade road, one that traders and travelers often used to reach the bustling settlements. ʼIʼm going to drown this place in legions and monsters,ʼ he thought, his jaw clenched as he wrestled with his anger.

His mind was already plotting the next steps. ʼIʼll have Elara, Sia, and Leira take this place. The cat womanʼs a genius when it comes to battle.ʼ

While walking, he sent her a message. ʼCan you join me, Leira?ʼ

ʼYes! Iʼm taking a break from the lab,ʼ she replied before appearing next to him thanks to the

tattoo.

Archer greeted the purple-haired woman with a kiss and cuddle, which made her smile. ”Hello husband, sorry I havenʼt come to see you. The Oathkeeper Project has been keeping me

busy.”

”Itʼs okay my love, but I need your help,” he spoke while scanning the surroundings. ”If I give you five legions and the survivors of the ones out here already. Can you take the west for

me?”

When Leira saw this, her cat ears twitched as her tail swayed side-to-side while she was thinking. Minutes later, she turned to him with a big smile, ”Yes I can conquer it, but Iʼll need some of those creatures.”

The cat woman pointed to a group of Venomwings transporting dead Draconians to a nearby clearing. Archer turned to them and nodded in agreement, ”Iʼll give you enough for whatever

the plan is.”

Leira beamed with excitement as she suddenly hugged him as she exclaimed, ”Thank you handsome! I wanted to show you how good I am during this war.”

He chuckled before returning the cuddle before the couple separated while Archer opened a Gate back to the headquarters in Emberport as he spoke, ”Elara is on the other side. Talk to her about taking the west and she will give you all the information.”ʼ

Afterward, Leira stepped through the violet portal, her lips pressing softly against Archerʼs in a brief but meaningful kiss. As the portal closed behind her, he turned and walked toward the clearing where the Venomwings were placing the bodies.

Without hesitation, he sent them to the Item Box, the weight of the fallen warriorsʼ sacrifice pressing on him as he moved with purpose. After securing the last body, Archerʼs gaze swept over the horizon before signaling to continue.

Throughout the next day, they encountered countless more scenes where Draconians lay scattered across the ground. While seeing this, he thought as his anger was building, ʼAt least half a legion has died. So many people dying to the Alliance.ʼ

Archerʼs Item Box became full, forcing him to store the dead in the Domain. He ordered the Oathkeepers to guard the camp as he entered the portal and appeared in an empty part

surrounded by grasslands.

He closed his eyes and started creating a massive warehouse where he would store the bodies until they could be organized. Once the building was completed, he entered it and felt the cold

air brush up against his skin.

”This place will be perfect for them,ʼ he thought before bringing out the bodies.

By the time Archer was done, there were tens of thousands of soldiers lying lifeless on the

floor, causing him to mutter to himself, ”This world is cruel but also beautiful. You wonʼt be forgotten while I still live.”

Afterward, he returned to the camp where the Oathkeepers were patrolling, their vigilance unwavering, while a few Venomwings lingered nearby. They maintained their watchful guard, but before long, Vivienneʼs voice echoed in his mind.

ʼMy children havenʼt found any more enemies, but something is killing them in the west,ʼ she

revealed.

Archer sighed when hearing this before replying, ʼWeʼre headed that way while looking for the three legions, but I think they may be gone at this rate.ʼ
