A Journey That Changed The World.

Chapter 1230: Pull Back Now

Archer started beating the giants but wanted them to know who he was and transformed into his massive dragon form. He slapped the second creature that flew off into the distance while pinning the over two down while letting out a deep growl.

The giants tried to fight against his grip, but he quickly bit down on one of their heads before crushing it into meat chunks. This sudden situation scared the second, but he didnʼt waste time and breathed violet flames directly into its face.

As this happened, the monster let out a pain-filled scream as the fire extinguished its life within seconds, leaving one giant left. His eyes locked onto the charging monsters that swing its building sized fist in his direction. ʼOh no you donʼt,ʼ he thought with a wild grin.

Archer raised one of his wings to block the attack as his massive claws slashed across the creatureʼs throat, causing its head to fly off into the distance. Once the fight was over, he returned to the group of Oathkeepers.

He transformed into his humanoid form while speaking, ”Now we can rest. My monsters will protect the camp. So ensure you get some sleep.”

Afterward, Archer stepped into his tent, the weight of the day pressing on him, and he needed some rest. He slumped onto the bed, pulling the sheets tightly around him as he curled up, drifting into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, miles away, Ashoka remained resolute, her stance unwavering against the relentless advance of the Alliance forces. The 17th, 18th, and 19th legions still hadnʼt arrived and none of her scouts found them. *** ʼWhere are they? Elara said they should have been here the last time I spoke to her,ʼ Ashoka thought in frustration.

They had lost thousands of soldiers holding back the enemy and she soon realized that they had to break out of the encirclement to survive. Everyone knew that Pseudo-Gods were roaming around Avidia, looking for the opportunity to attack Archer whenever he appeared. ”Make sure the Dragonfire Company has their mana shells!” she screamed out to the commanders, her voice cutting through the chaos as explosions rocked the camp.

She watched in grim silence as blasts sent Legionnaires and Drakeguards flying, their bodies hurtling through the air from the force of the explosions that erupted inside the walls, the Alliance artillery relentlessly pounding the defenses.

The ground trembled with each impact, but she remained steadfast, her amber eyes scanning the battlefield for any signs of weakness. She knew they had to kill the enemy mages to get a message to Archer.

While standing firm on the wall, the four Oathkeepers her fiancé had sent to aid her flanked Ashoka. The moon was high in the sky and the enemy soldiers stopped charging at the wall, leaving behind their injured.

A sea of corpses littered the fields below the hill which surprised even her as she thought, ʼAre they wasting lives at this point? Theyʼve been attacking for days.ʼ

Following that, her commanders rushed up to her and Elias spoke in a respectful tone, ”My Queen. The enemy army is growing smaller. We could escape to the west and circle back to Emberport.”

An older woman stepped forward and bowed just before she spoke. ”Thereʼs no point in waiting for the three legions. Somethingʼs happened to them and weʼll be wiped out soon enough.”

Ashoke sighed, ”Okay, weʼll strike at the western army and break through,” she said in a determined voice.

Afterward she stayed on the wall and asked the commander of the Oathkeepers, ”What do you think happened to the legions, Varek?”

The giant knight remained motionless, his voice steady as he spoke. ”I believe the enemy has ambushed them on the way here, my queen. With over a million soldiers, the column would stretch for miles. Itʼs likely the Alliance intercepted them before they could reach us.”

When Ashoka heard this, a frown appeared before she answered, ”How, though? Wouldnʼt the Dragon Marshalls watch out for them?”

Varek shook his head. ”No, the path here was jungles and forests. The generals would have only had our scoutsʼ information to proceed with. Thatʼs means neither us nor the legions have any idea if the enemy has infested those lands we passed through.”

The tiger woman nodded in understanding as the camp started packing up. They were readying themselves to break through the Alliance. Following that, she went to check on her commanders and soldiers.

Hours later, the 9th Legion prepared to launch an assault on the western flank of the Alliance. Meanwhile, the southern forces of the Alliance rushed to further south as something had caught their attention.

Seconds later, explosions rang out in the distance, causing Ashoka and the legion turned south where it was happening. This caused the tiger woman to think, ʼSo Varek was right, they are being attacked.ʼ

Ashoka and her Oathkeepers were spearheading the attack, a strategy that left her commanders deeply concerned. Standing at the forefront of a column of Tiger Warriors, she radiated an air of fearless determination. ʼNow letʼs clear the way for the legion,ʼ she thought with glowing amber eyes.

Without hesitation, she charged toward the enemy lines, her form shifting mid-stride into her primal form that looked like a giant Siberian Tiger, radiating raw power as she let out a deep roar as she rushed toward the army.

Seconds later, Ashoka barreled into the enemy ranks, her massive claws slicing through the Alliance lines with devastating strikes. Each swipe tore through them with ease, leaving chaos and destruction in her wake as she carved a path through their defenses.

The battlefield roared with the sounds of war as Ashoka tore into the ranks of enemies. Her fangs glinted under the blood-red sun, her claws carving through armor and shields like they were paper.

A single swipe of her paw sent half a dozen soldiers flying, their cries lost in the chaos. Her primal roar shook the ground, sending waves of fear rippling through them. Behind her, the Oathkeepers charged with fury.

Their war cries echoed as they barreled through the Alliance like a storm, smashing through formations and scattering soldiers like leaves in the wind. One Oathkeeper wielded a colossal Great Axe, its impact shaking the earth with every swing.

Anotherʼs sword cleaved through a squad of defenders in a single, blinding arc of silver light. Amid the chaos, a massive cannon swiveled toward Ashoka, its barrel glowing as it prepared to fire.

The ground beneath it trembled as one of the giant Oathkeepers saw the threat and acted instantly. With an earth-shaking charge, the knight hurled himself into the cannon, his shield raised.

Following that, the impact was catastrophic. Metal crumpled and gears shattered as the cannon exploded in a blinding flash, its fiery debris raining down on the battlefield. Ashoka growled as her claws raking through their ranks as easily as the wind cuts through grass.

She was a blur of fur, fangs, and sheer brutality, a predator unleashed amidst prey. The four Oathkeepers surged around her, their unstoppable momentum leaving nothing but wreckage in their path.

The Alliance soldiers faltered, some breaking ranks, their morale shattered by the Ashoka and her knights. The tide of battle had shifted irrevocably, the ground now soaked with blood.

As the tiger-woman and the Oathkeepers relentlessly drove the enemy into disarray, the 9th Legion surged forward like a tidal wave, cutting down any stragglers who dared to linger as they made a daring escape to get back to Emberport.

With their momentum building, they pressed westward. Meanwhile, Ashoka and the knights kept the rear safe while scattering the enemy forces. An hour later, she was panting as she butchered thousands of soldiers. ”Varek! Pull back now!” Ashoka roared before pouncing on several cannons that appeared when the Alliance regrouped.

Explosions shook the ground, but the Oathkeepers listened to her orders and retreated with her following. Thanks to their power, the four knights were like bullets while sprinting across the grassland.

Ashoka was pleased and followed while using earth magic to harass the chasing enemy cavalry, but her giant boulders wiped them out with ease, allowing the 9th to get away from the trap.

What they didnʼt realize was that the future runningsʼ battles would soon become some of the fiercest and most grueling struggles of their lives. It was a fight that would forever alter the course of the 9th Legion.

Hours later, Ashoka found a secluded meadow they could camp in and when the army arrived, something didnʼt feel right. She returned to her humanoid form while scanning the landscape. ”Put extra guards on patrol and Iʼll have the Oathkeepers join them,” the tiger woman commented to her commanders. ”Thereʼs a strange scent in the air, but I canʼt pinpoint the location.” ”Should we send out some scouts, your Majesty?” Elias commented with an exhausted expression.

Ashoka nodded when hearing this. ”Yes, do that, I want to see what is in the surrounding area,” she said while sitting down on a nearby log wondering what happened to the three legions. [Drop some powerstones, comments, and gifts to help the novel grow; I appreciate all the support you can give]
