Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

”Commander Lin, have you made your preparations to die?”

At the forefront of the Ten Thousand Demons Legion, the black demonic markings on Geng Yan’s face pulsed with light as he let out a sinister, eerie laugh.

”What a big mouth. A frog at the bottom of a well truly doesn’t know how high the heavens are,” Lin Langtian replied with his hands clasped behind his back, smiling faintly. ”But that’s fine. After today, there will no longer be anything called the Ten Thousand Demons Legion in the Domain of Chaos.”

Seeing the way the two men clashed with words the moment they faced each other, countless forces watching from afar felt a chill in their hearts. It seemed that today’s battle was utterly unavoidable.

”Silver Mist King, today this old man shall see just how powerful that Grand Perfection Divine Art of yours really is!”

On the other side, Old Demon Geng’s cold, hoarse voice echoed through the heavens. His eyes suddenly turned icy as he stomped down, his figure shooting straight up toward the nine heavens as a chilling shout rumbled forth, saturated with killing intent.

”Geng Yan, annihilate the Silver Mist Guards!”

”As you command, Gate Master!” Geng Yan clasped his fists with a smile, the killing intent in his eyes flaring as they locked onto Lin Langtian.

Boom!

A sharp whistling erupted across the skies as Old Demon Geng’s figure turned into a streak of demonic light, soaring toward the heights. His overwhelming, sinister spiritual power rippled through all of heaven and earth.

Jiang Yinlan lifted her pretty face, cold light flickering in her narrow eyes as she watched the trail of demonic light. Then she turned slightly toward Lin Langtian. ”I’ll handle Old Demon Geng. The Ten Thousand Demons Legion is yours.”

On their side, the only army truly worthy of the field was the Silver Mist Guards. The other allied forces simply could not compare to the Ten Thousand Demons Legion; throwing them in would only make them cannon fodder.

”Leave it to me,” Lin Langtian said with a light nod.

Although Geng Yan’s strength had reached the threshold of Fourth-Grade Sovereign, Lin Langtian had just broken through to Half-Step Third-Grade. With his control over battle intent, he was confident he would not lose to him.

”I’ll finish him as quickly as possible,” Jiang Yinlan replied with a nod of her jade-like head. Wasting no more time, she stepped lightly, silver sword in hand, her figure turning into a flowing streak of light that shot toward the distant sky.

Old Demon Geng was already standing high in the nine heavens, tens of thousands of meters above the ground, the winds howling violently. Only experts of their level dared to fight at such heights.

He gripped a black staff, staring at the approaching, slender figure with a sinister smile. His withered hand tightened around the staff as gray-black demonic light slithered across its surface like vipers.

”For Silver Mist Palace to set its sights on my Ten Thousand Demons Gate can only mean you’ve overestimated yourselves,” Old Demon Geng sneered.

Jiang Yinlan merely cast him a cold glance from her beautiful eyes without bothering to respond. Her silver sword swung toward him, unleashing a torrent of spiritual power that transformed into a deluge of silver sword light, pouring down on Old Demon Geng like a torrential storm.

”Petty tricks.”

Old Demon Geng slammed the black staff into the air. Gray-black demonic light exploded outward, forming a barrier of demonic energy around him. The falling silver sword light shattered into mere motes upon contact, vanishing one after another.

”Is that so?”

A faint smile tugged at Jiang Yinlan’s red lips as she raised her sword and tapped lightly.

In an instant, the sea of silver sword light suddenly contracted and condensed into a single gigantic blade of silver that tore through the air with a hiss, punching straight through the demonic barrier.

This time, the silver sword smashed apart the demonic shield, driving straight for Old Demon Geng’s brow.

The lightning-fast assault made his expression change, but as a Fifth-Grade Sovereign, he reacted at once. The black staff in his hand thrust forward, demonic light surging.

Boom!

The staff collided with the silver sword, and a terrifying wave of spiritual power raged outward.

Old Demon Geng’s figure flickered and reappeared hundreds of meters away. He glanced down at the withered hand gripping his staff, which was trembling slightly, and his face grew dark.

”It seems the Gate Master of Ten Thousand Demons Gate is nothing special after all,” Jiang Yinlan said with a mocking curl of her lips.

”Hmph.”

Old Demon Geng snorted coldly. Slamming his staff down, he erupted with gray-black demonic energy that surged out like an ocean.

In just a few breaths, heaven and earth grew cold and eerie. Even those far below could clearly feel the terrifying fluctuations.

When a Fifth-Grade Sovereign truly grew serious, the power they unleashed could shake the world.

Jiang Yinlan spun her sword in a dazzling arc. Silver spiritual power erupted from her body, and sword intent churned within those rolling waves, making the surrounding space quiver.

The two immense forces split the sky in half, their impending collision like that of two meteors.

Their icy, murderous gazes crossed in midair. In the next moment, they turned into two streaks of light and shot toward each other.

Behind them, spiritual power surged like raging rivers, slamming together with earth-shattering force.

Boom!

A wild spiritual storm ravaged the nine heavens. Passing birds were caught in the waves and sent plummeting with broken wings, while within ten thousand meters, everything was engulfed by their combined power.

This battle was destined to be earth-shaking.

Countless gazes below were fixed on the distant sky, secretly clicking their tongues in awe.

Soon, however, many eyes shifted downward. Jiang Yinlan and Old Demon Geng’s strength made it hard to predict a quick outcome.

With no easy victory above, the clash below became even more crucial.

Whichever side secured the advantage on the ground would influence the two combatants in the sky. In such a duel, even a moment’s distraction could expose a fatal weakness.

All eyes turned toward the two figures standing at the forefront of the Silver Mist Guards and the Ten Thousand Demons Legion.

Under their collective gaze, Geng Yan gave Lin Langtian a cold smile. ”Making my Ten Thousand Demons Gate your target will be the greatest mistake your Silver Mist Palace ever makes.”

He clearly brimmed with confidence. The Ten Thousand Demons Legion outnumbered the Silver Mist Guards, and as a commander, his cultivation at the threshold of Fourth-Grade Sovereign was, in his mind, enough to crush Lin Langtian.

Combined with the shining war merits he had accumulated over the years, he felt fully justified in looking down on the newly risen commander of Silver Mist Palace.

”After today, the Domain of Chaos will no longer remember the name Ten Thousand Demons Gate,” Lin Langtian replied, casting him a calm glance.

At that, Geng Yan’s eyes turned icy. A cold smile twisted his lips. ”Such arrogance. Very well, then let the foot of Ten Thousand Demons Mountain gain a few thousand more corpses!”

Boom!

He stomped down, his body soaring upward.

Behind him, a thunderous howl rolled across the sky as the Ten Thousand Demons Legion transformed into streaks of demonic light, rushing upward.

Seeing this, Lin Langtian raised his hand.

”Lin Langtian, be careful,” Mu Honglian said softly. ”Geng Yan has already reached the threshold of Fourth-Grade Sovereign. He’s stronger than any of our sect’s commanders.”

Though personal strength was not the only factor in army battles, it still had significant impact.

”Don’t worry. This place is in your hands,” Lin Langtian replied, nodding. The battlefield had essentially been carved into three parts.

Jiang Yinlan and Old Demon Geng battled alone in the heavens. The Silver Mist Guards and the Ten Thousand Demons Legion were about to clash head-on. The remaining space was a chaotic melee of other forces, each trying to tie up the enemy.

”Relax—they won’t be able to interfere with you,” Mu Honglian answered with a confident smile.

In the past few days, she had already coordinated with the other allied forces. Once the battle broke out, she would temporarily take command of the chaotic field.

Seeing her calm, confident expression, Lin Langtian said nothing more. His raised hand fell sharply, his eyes turning razor-sharp.

”Silver Mist Guards, battle!”

”Yes!”

A unified roar thundered through the sky as the Silver Mist Guards shot upward like a rising white cloud, forming up before the Ten Thousand Demons Legion as boundless battle intent billowed forth.

Lin Langtian’s figure blurred, and he appeared above the Silver Mist Guards.

The immense Silver Mist battle intent gathered around him like a surging silver ocean.

Geng Yan watched Lin Langtian with cold eyes. Raising his own hand, he spoke in an indifferent voice.

”Ten Thousand Demons Battle Intent.”

Behind him, beneath the gray-black armor, it was as if countless sinister eyes had opened at once. A low, ghostly howl began to echo, growing louder and louder.

Boom!

Demonic energy erupted, filling heaven and earth. Countless streams of gray-black battle intent shot skyward like writhing serpents and converged behind Geng Yan, forming a terrifying, all-encompassing tide.

”I want to see for myself just what skills this Silver Mist Commander, who’s been making such waves in the Heaven-Earth Sect, actually possesses.”

Geng Yan chuckled darkly, then extended two fingers, pointing them at Lin Langtian from afar and tapping lightly.

Bang!

A massive spear of demonic battle intent, hundreds of meters long, roared forth like a raging fiend. Its dazzling black light drew countless gazes from across the battlefield.

The spear streaked through the sky and, in a flash, was upon the Silver Mist Guards.

Just as it was about to slam into them, the Silver Mist battle intent surged out, forming a great silver shield.

Boom!

The two forces collided, and a violent shockwave raged outward. Yet the seemingly thin battle intent shield did not shatter. It held firm until the spear finally exhausted its power and faded away.

Seeing this, countless experts on both sides narrowed their eyes.

From sheer scale alone, the Ten Thousand Demons Legion had the advantage, and their battle intent seemed far more terrifying.

Yet their opening attack had been casually blocked by the Silver Mist Guards.

”Impressive. It’s long been said that Commander Lin defeated five thousand Calamity Guards with only one thousand Silver Mist Guards. Today it appears the rumors were true.”

”It seems Commander Lin’s understanding and control of battle intent far surpass the other commanders.”

”…”

The many experts from the Heaven-Earth Sect couldn’t help whispering in awe, and the tension in their hearts eased.

They had worried that if Lin Langtian was defeated, it would set off a chain reaction—and if Jiang Yinlan faltered because of it, their side would fall into total collapse.

Boom!

In the sky, Lin Langtian calmly watched the dispersing demonic spear, then slowly lifted his gaze to Geng Yan and formed seals with his hands.

The next moment, the Silver Mist battle intent behind him surged wildly.

In just a few breaths, silver light flooded the sky, even suppressing the eerie wails of the Ten Thousand Demons battle intent.

The boundless Silver Mist power roared across the heavens like a tidal wave of molten silver, pouring outward from Lin Langtian.

Faced with such a force, even a Fourth-Grade Sovereign would not dare confront it head-on.

Geng Yan hovered in midair, eyes narrowing as he stared at the Silver Mist Guards’ surging power.

Just as the reports had said, this Silver Mist Commander’s mastery of battle intent had truly reached a transcendent realm.

”Hmph. Don’t mistake my Ten Thousand Demons Legion for that flashy but useless Calamity Guard,” Geng Yan snorted coldly, his gaze turning sharp.

He raised both hands, and the Ten Thousand Demons battle intent erupted with a deafening roar.

Gray-black demonic light flooded in, and under countless watching eyes, condensed into a colossal black spear.

Demonic patterns crawled across its surface like giant serpents, while an eerie, wailing chorus shook the sky.

This time, Geng Yan did not bother with probing attacks. He used his true trump card from the start, clearly intending to seize the initiative and smash the Silver Mist Guards in one stroke.

”Spear of Ten Thousand Demons!”

Geng Yan gripped the massive spear and hurled it downward.

The weapon tore through the air in a blazing arc, ripping the very sky as it appeared above the Silver Mist Guards in a single flash.

”Silver Mist Formation-Breaking Spear!”

Lin Langtian’s seals changed, and the ocean of Silver Mist battle intent around him rose in crashing waves.

A moment later, a gigantic silver spear of battle intent roared forth to meet the descending demonic spear.

Boom!

A deafening impact shook heaven and earth, the shockwave rolling like a tempestuous sea. Yet neither side’s ocean of battle intent was shaken.

With his initial strike thwarted, Geng Yan’s expression did not change. His hand seals shifted at lightning speed.

The Ten Thousand Demons battle intent churned crazily, condensing spear after spear at a terrifying pace until the sky was filled with them.

Many watching experts felt their scalps tingle and their legs go weak at the sight.

”Go!”

With a flick of Geng Yan’s finger, the countless demonic spears shot forth like a black storm, like ten thousand arrows loosed at once, their momentum as if to sever rivers and shatter the earth.

Lin Langtian’s expression remained calm. He immediately swept the Silver Mist battle intent forward.

The power surged like layer upon layer of crashing waves, colliding head-on with the storm of demonic spears.

Bang! Bang!

Explosions thundered continuously across the sky. There were no elaborate tricks in their exchange—only a brutal contest of sheer power.

Yet to everyone’s surprise, Geng Yan failed to gain any advantage.

His assaults were blocked one after another by Lin Langtian, not allowed to advance even half a step.

Many onlookers could not help but marvel.

For years, the Ten Thousand Demons Legion had enjoyed fearsome renown, obliterating countless forces.

But now, before the Silver Mist Guards, that long-standing ferocity had finally been stopped.
