Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

Boom!

A deafening crash thundered across the heavens as a terrifying energy storm raged through the sky, sending the void itself into violent tremors.

At the center of the storm stood Lin Langtian and the Third King Hall.

Lin Langtian was fully unleashed—dragon horns and kunpeng wings extended, Ancestral Demon Battle Armor covering his body.

On the other side, the Third King Hall, the strongest in the Demonic Prison after the Heavenly King Hall and Second King Hall, stood clad in Demon Emperor Armor, his body wreathed in a thick, viscous demonic aura.

Sizzle!

Lin Langtian’s eyes narrowed. His hand tightened, and the fused power of the three Ancestral Symbols and Yimo strength burst forth, coalescing into a tricolored demonic scepter.

At the tip, demon lightning crackled. The middle glowed black and silver. The end was a spinning void of deepest black.

Whoosh!

His arm twitched and the scepter blurred into a rain of phantasmal shadows that swept down to drown the Third King Hall.

”Gate of Dark Demons!”

The Third King Hall’s gaze went cold. His palm slapped out into the air.

Demonic qi spewed forth and formed a towering black gate, thousands of meters high.

A savage demonic idol loomed faintly upon its surface.

Bang, bang, bang!

The tricolored staff-shadows hammered into the gate, riddling it with cracks.

Lin Langtian shot forward like lightning, merging with the scepter as he warped through the air.

He punched straight through the dark gate.

Whoosh!

The scepter’s far end vanished, only for its tip to reappear behind the Third King Hall, jabbing viciously at the center of his back.

Clang!

The scepter slammed into his Demon Emperor Armor with a screech, sending him spinning away, a deep dent marring his backplate.

Before his anger could peak, the space around him rippled like water.

Dozens of lightning-laced staff-shadows erupted from the void and aimed for every vital point on his body.

Clang, clang, clang!

In a flash, they crashed into him from all directions.

Even his fearsome Demon Emperor Armor was carved with deep, ragged grooves, leaving him in a miserable state.

Roar!

Driven past his limit, the Third King Hall let out a bestial roar and hurled a fist forward.

A flood of demonic qi converged upon his knuckles, solidifying into a beam of pitch-black crystal light that blasted toward Lin Langtian.

The crystal beam was so dense with compressed demonic power that it shattered layer upon layer of space before exploding against Lin Langtian’s chest.

Bang!

The impact sent him flying.

Cracks spidered across his Ancestral Demon Armor, his blood surging violently in his veins.

He wasn’t badly hurt. But the Third King Hall truly lived up to his rank.

In pure power, this was the strongest opponent Lin Langtian had ever faced.

Good. He would be the perfect whetstone.

The Third King Hall glanced down at his armor, now scored with jagged, near-breaking wounds.

Cold light sharpened in his eyes.

His blood-red gaze fixed on Lin Langtian as he took in the young man’s easy command over Yimo power.

The destructive force born from the union of Ancestral Symbols and demonic qi was shocking even to him.

”Boy, mind telling this hall how you’ve managed to wield the power of my clan so perfectly?” he asked with a bloodthirsty grin.

”You mean your Yimo power?” Lin Langtian replied blandly. ”Picked it up along the way. Hardly difficult.”

The Third King Hall’s face darkened, his smile turning razor-sharp.

”So you won’t speak. Fine. Whatever secret you’re hiding—this hall will pry it from your corpse.”

If he could unravel the mystery of combining Yimo power and Ancestral Symbols, he might gain both.

And then… he might just surpass the Heavenly King Hall himself.

He cast a glance down at the battlefield, feeling the fury and killing intent growing with every dead soldier.

”Long ago, those three Yuan Gate wastes mentioned you,” he said slowly. ”You were an ant then. Not worth a second thought.

”I never imagined that same ant would push me this far today.”

He lifted his right hand.

The evil eye in his palm blinked, fixing on Lin Langtian and sending a shiver through the air.

”This eye is called the Prison Demon Eye,” he went on. ”A gift from the Emperor.

”I once used it in a surprise attack against the Symbol Ancestor.

”Using a move worthy of him on you… you should feel honored.”

His fingers curled around the eye. His grin twisted into something truly vicious.

Lin Langtian’s face remained unreadable.

”Oh? Too confident… or too scared to speak?” the Third King Hall sneered, misreading the silence.

Demonic qi poured out of him in heavy, viscous waves.

Like mud thick with shards of glass, it crawled over his arm.

This was demonic power so dense it was beginning to crystallize.

Buzz…

The flood of demonic qi surged along his arm and into his palm.

His skin blackened like ink.

The evil eye in his hand let out a shrill, piercing screech as it drank in the power.

The evil aura exploded to a level that made even the air recoil.

The Third King Hall’s arm shriveled rapidly, its blood and essence sucked dry by the eye.

Bang!

His arm burst, and the eye tore free, swelling as demonic qi wrapped around it.

In just a few breaths, it had grown into a sphere a thousand meters wide.

The monstrous eye hung high above, drowning the world in a tide of wickedness.

Lin Langtian stared up at it, feeling the force it contained.

His own gaze hardened.

Just as he prepared to move, a pulse ran through his mind.

The Evil God Demon Eye—silent for a long time—began to stir.

”…Triggered by that Prison Demon Eye?” he murmured.

”If that’s the case… let’s see whether the Evil Eye can crush the Demon Eye.”

Decision made, he formed a rapid series of seals.

A black line slowly opened at his brow.

The Evil God Demon Eye might have lain dormant, but he had never underestimated it.

Its roots reached back to the Great Thousand World itself.

He had been too weak to fully tap it before. But now, in the Divine Palace Realm…

It was time to test its true strength.

On the other side, the Third King Hall’s frown deepened at the sight of the third eye forming in Lin Langtian’s forehead.

Something about it felt… wrong.

He closed his own eyes sharply, black blood seeping from the corners.

Above them, the giant Evil Eye snapped wide open.

Darkness fell over the desert like a curtain.

Everyone saw the beam of purest evil that erupted from the pupil, slamming into the descending hand of the black beast that had appeared within the swirling vortex of demonic clouds behind Lin Langtian.

The two forces met and held for only an instant.

Then the beam fractured.

Cracks raced along its length before it shattered entirely under the beast’s power.

They were not even on the same level.

The black beast’s hand closed around the struggling eye.

Ignoring the Third King Hall’s desperate call, it lifted the Prison Demon Eye to its maw and devoured it in a single crunch.

Pfft!

The Prison Demon Eye’s destruction tore through the Third King Hall’s soul.

Blood sprayed from his lips.

Cracking noises sounded from within his skull as his eyes caved in, black blood pouring down his ruined face.

Lin Langtian’s own gaze went frigid.

He would never get a better chance.

Fingers clenched, he drew a storm of demon lightning into his fist, the surrounding void splitting into ragged scars.

By the time anyone noticed him move, he was already in front of the Third King Hall.

His lightning-wreathed fist slammed down.

The blind king flinched aside just enough to avoid instant death, but the blow still smashed into his shoulder.

Bang!

Thunder boomed as the already-shattered Demon Emperor Armor disintegrated entirely.

Demon lightning tore through his flesh.

His scream was raw and terrible.

Blood poured from a hundred wounds.

With no armor to shield him, his shoulder shriveled under the blow, bone gleaming through the ruined flesh as his body hurled backward like a ragdoll and crashed into the ground.

The impact gouged a crater a hundred meters wide into the desert floor.
