In the continent of Asia, China, Shandong province, a farmer wept helplessly as he stared at the drought-ridden land before him.

Wei Wufu was a humble farmer living a modest livelihood. He had a wife and three children whom he adored and catered for.

But his life began to fall apart the day the monstrous eye appeared in the sky.

It was like hell on earth and chaos was unleashed. Unlike the lucky few who were in safe zones when it all began, Wei Wufu’s family land became the heart of a corruption zone. Demons from hell were unleashed. His wife was possessed and killed two of his children, leaving one who later still died — trampled to death by a six-legged horse from hell.

His life was over. His family was gone. His farm was gone. There was nothing to live for.

He rose and stared at a sharp sickle in his grasp. He clutched it tightly as he brought the concave arced blade round his neck.

The same instrument he once used to reap rice was about to reap a human life. He gritted his teeth and was about to follow through when suddenly...

In the continent of Africa, Nigeria, Lagos State...

There was chaos everywhere. Survivors hid in terror as rabid monsters filled the streets.

In a deep underground bunker, sounds of clanging rang out as a muscular man hammered away!

He was a blacksmith — a profession the world had long stopped needing.

But things changed the moment the apocalypse came. Everyone in the community relied on his craft to wield weapons they now needed to defend themselves.

No one dared use guns lest the loud sound attracted more hordes to their doorsteps. They could only rely on melee weapons.

Tunde hammered away, his eyes gleaming at each pound of his hammer. He raised his hammer, landing the finishing heat when something miraculous happened...

In the continent of Europe, the United Kingdom, Buckingham Palace, London...

Unlike some countries, the UK was quite unfortunate. Their capital, London, was encompassed by a forming corruption zone.

In response, the royal family began rescuing citizens, accepting all untainted into their palace gates.

Very soon it was too crowded, and people had to temporarily sleep in corridors and ration the little food the higher-ups could provide.

A young disheveled boy of around 13 walked down the red-carpeted ground cautiously.

He was out hunting mice. The food provided wasn’t enough; he had to find more to fill his little belly.

Just then, he walked past a beautiful lustrous armor.

’This was ancient medieval knight armor, wasn’t it?’

He stared in awe and stretched his skinny hands to feel the cold metal surface. Just then...

A sliver of intangible force descended upon him.

[Congratulations! You have been selected and bestowed the true inheritance of the great Ancient Knight King!]

Allen’s eyes widened into saucers.

He couldn’t bask in shock for long, though. Some guards showed up.

”Hey you, what are you doing there!”

”Shit!” Hearing this stern call, the boy didn’t hesitate to burst into a sprint, with the pair of guards hot on his heels.

”Hey you, stop!”

...

Queensland State, Australia...

A young girl of around eight was curled up in the boot of a scrapped car.

Her parents had managed to stuff her in just before the corrupted got to them.

She held her mouth tightly shut as her frame quivered, stifling a cry.

She could hear crunching sounds outside. She had lost count of how long she had stayed here.

Her mother had pleaded with her to count silently for as long as she could, and not to leave until everything was quiet.

Unfortunately, they underestimated the senses of the mutants.

After feasting on the parents, the monsters sniffed the air, their necks snapping toward the direction of the car!

They raced forward as claws dug into the metal boot!

A screeching noise rang as sparks danced, elongated claws tearing through the metal surface like a knife through foam.

The girl couldn’t hold it in any longer. She let out a shrill scream.

The monsters, hearing the sound of a potential meal, grew more frenzied!

Ripping the cover of the boot off, they revealed the trembling, curled-up little girl.

Fear reflected in her ocean-blue irises, her blonde ponytail matted with sweat as the claw of the mutant drew closer.

She shut her eyes tightly as she began to call beneath her breath.

”Charlie, save me. I know you’re there. Save me!”

Charlie was her imaginary friend bear, one she told her parents about but they always laughed it off.

They always made sure to let her understand that Charlie was a figment of her imagination, and that while it was normal for children to have vivid imagination, it was good to let a child know what was real and what was not.

But Chloe never listened. How could Charlie be fake?

She had even seen his paw prints embedded deep in the soil. Even their neighbor, Mr. Cruger, had seen it too!

She knew Charlie was real, and Charlie would save her no matter what!

A sliver of energy doused her body. Time slowed to a crawl as she screamed.

”CHARLIEEE SAVE MEEEEE!”

[Congratulations! You have awakened a Monarch Grade Gene Skill, ’Phantom Summoner!’]

[Details: Your mind is a scape of its own. If you believe enough, reality might just warp to your whims!]

A shadow cast over the attacking mutants as a resounding growl rumbled through the air.

Smack!

A massive paw whipped through the air, crushing all rabid mutants to paste.

The girl opened her eyes, and she beamed. ”Charlie, you are here!”
