Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu went up the black staircase, feeling anxious, ready to flee at a moment’s notice if he encountered danger.

Yang Yu glanced back.

The glowing complex array followed him closely, recording his every move completely.

If he made any mistake, this complex Magic Array would ruthlessly broadcast it to people worldwide, causing a live-stream disaster.

Gathering his thoughts and adjusting his mindset, Yang Yu heightened his vigilance and continued forward.

But what happened next was completely unexpected for Yang Yu.

At the end of the staircase, it wasn’t some monster or unimaginable fantasy scene; instead, there was a security door with a “Fu” character pasted on it.

Festive couplets were pasted on both sides of the security door, with a horizontal word “Welcome Home”.

After a series of events, Yang Yu became more serious than before.

To be precise, he unknowingly carried many responsibilities, unable to comment and joke freely as he did before.

Now, seeing the life-like security door, Yang Yu couldn’t hold back any longer, the tension completely eased, and he couldn’t help but joke:

“Did past humans design this too?

Why does it feel no different from the neighborhood I used to live in?

What the hell.

Was all my past experience just an illusion from climbing the stairs, and the goddess lives below my apartment?”

Yang Yu quickly called the system.

Seeing his attributes appear on the system, Yang Yu secretly breathed a sigh of relief, gradually approaching the security door and ringing the doorbell.

Soon, a lazy voice came from the intercom:

“The door isn’t locked. Come in yourself.”

With permission granted, Yang Yu turned the doorknob.

The door indeed opened.

Dim light illuminated the less-than-ten-square-meter room, various gaming consoles filled every corner of it.

Whether it’s the vintage Atari console or various modern gaming consoles, traces of all can be found here.

In the center of the room, an indifferent bespectacled nerd girl wearing slippers lazily munched on chips and fiddled with a controller, the TV light illuminating her expressionless side profile.

Seeing Yang Yu arrive, the nerd raised her head and finished chewing her chips, wiped her mouth offhandedly with her shoulder, and spoke:

“Meeting again. Long time no see.”

Calming himself, Yang Yu greeted the Black Spade Goddess, who guided him into this world:

“Long time no see. Black Spade Goddess, I have a few questions I’d like to ask you.”

“Any questions can wait, I’m stuck at a level right now, can’t get past it.

Can you help me clear it first?

Afterward, feel free to ask anything!”

Saying this, Black Spade paused the game and handed Yang Yu the controller.

What else could he do?

He could only comply with the goddess’s whim.

“Alright, as long as I help you clear this level. I can ask as many questions as I want, right?”

Yang Yu took the controller from Black Spade and sat beside her, glancing at the screen.

From the screen’s display alone, Yang Yu couldn’t discern what kind of game it was.

Black Spade giggled: “I’m true to my word, hurry and start!”

“Good, good!”

Urged by Black Spade, Yang Yu pressed the start button without hesitation, and in the next moment, his soul seemed stripped away, transcending time and space.

…

…

“Please, bury me alongside her…”

Vorquis tilted backward with the Holy Sword, collapsing on the floating Demon King City module, his eyes completely void of light.

Yang Yu felt a sense of déjà vu, yet suddenly couldn’t recall where he’d seen it before.

What was that just now?

Why do I feel like I’ve lost a crucial piece of memory…

Could it be Lux’s influence?

Yang Yu took a deep breath twice, calming himself, then scanned his surroundings and opened the system panel to check the Task.

If he indeed defeated Lux, the task panel should show “Completed”, but…

But…

The Task Yang Yu was supposed to complete hadn’t shown any completion prompt.

The plan failed.

Lux was still alive!

The thought flooded Yang Yu’s mind, he rapidly scanned around, observing his companions’ positions and statuses.

Lux could invade others’ bodies and use their systems because he possessed a certain spiritual power.

If Lux managed to separate his and Vorquis’s souls when Yang Yu attacked Vorquis…

This battle wasn’t over!

In what way would Lux strike?

Yang Yu had seen independently acting spiritual bodies; if Lux leveraged his immense Magic Power and Magic knowledge to exploit some ultimate bug, trapping himself in a masterless spiritual body form, beating him would be extremely unlikely.

But controlling Devil King’s Power in spiritual body form should be challenging.

If exploiting such a bug were possible, previous Demon Kings would’ve already transformed themselves into the Undead Race.

If the Demon King turns into the Undead, would the Devil King’s Power slowly return to the device…

If that’s true, it’s good news.

If Lux becomes a spiritual body, as long as enough time is dragged, he’ll weaken more and more.

The situation remains favorable.

… Is there a chance for Lux to turn the tide?

Yang Yu suddenly widened his eyes, looking ahead, Vorquis’s corpse slowly turned into smoke and vanished before him.

“Just a little, just a tiny bit, I was about to die.

As I thought, besides using some petty moves, you have no other talents.

I still wanted to cooperate with you earlier.”

Yang Yu turned to the direction of the voice, Vorquis, no… Lux, pulling out the Holy Sword from his chest.

Looking at Lux’s Blood Bar above his head, Yang Yu impossibly widened his eyes, his Blood Bar had nothing but Lux stood there seemingly unscathed.

Lux erupted in laughter: “Hahaha, very surprised, huh?

I’m equally surprised! I guess I bet the right odds.

I should be thanking you, fearing I’d take over your body, you willingly abandoned the Holy Sword.

I’ve now returned to inside of the Holy Sword.”

“Does it mean…”

Yang Yu gritted his teeth and glanced at the Holy Sword, on it, emerged a Blood Bar.

Lux leveraged his ability to completely command the Holy Sword, then utilized it to control Vorquis’s corpse and confined the leaking Devil King’s Power!

An unprecedented situation presented itself before Yang Yu and his team.

Without hesitation, Yang Yu drew the Black Tachi and charged at the resurrected Lux.

…

…

Awaiting Yang Yu was a desperate battle.

The rejuvenated Lux swept like a storm, exhausting Laplace’s skills, Yang Yu and his team gradually ran out of ways to counter Lux and were being pushed to the brink.

To create an opening, Bai Jin and the others made a decision in secret from Yang Yu.

Yang Yu must fight.

Even if his companions beside him fell one by one, he must fight.

As long as one person is alive, they can board the Sea Mother!

Once aboard the Sea Mother, hope still remains!
