Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

In the game, when the protagonist reaches the maximum level and has defeated the final boss, going back to complete some relatively complex tasks seems incredibly easy.

Even if the strength of those trying to stop Yang Yu and the others is not bad, to the current Yang Yu and team, it’s just a matter of spending some time.

The opponents blocking Yang Yu and his team quickly fell apart under their joint attack.

Recalling Yang Yu’s words earlier, the Evil Dragon’s offspring decisively surrendered first to save their lives.

Even their mother was not a match for Yang Yu; continuing to fight would only lead to their downfall, making wedding clothes for others.

Listening to Yang Yu’s words earlier made the Evil Dragon’s offspring even more convinced that demons were not to be trusted.

They had already sensed the abnormalities around Demon King City, having doubts about Demon Lillith.

It was only because their interests happened to align with Lilith that they reluctantly cooperated.

This fragile alliance was quickly collapsing under the threat of a strong opponent.

The quick betrayal of the Evil Dragon’s offspring indirectly affected the course of battle, allowing Yang Yu and team to kick open the door to the next level, arriving in the real meeting room.

Demon Lillith was calmly sitting in a chair, slowly drinking tea.

The teleportation magic she just prepared failed again.

The interference magic blocking this Underground Maze was far more formidable than Lillith had imagined; the two magic techniques Agares taught were utterly useless.

Lillith’s power wasn’t beyond spec like a giant dragon’s; she was overwhelmed, now left only to hope for negotiations.

Glancing at Yang Yu and team, the strap on Lillith’s shoulder slid down her arm, flaunting a seductive posture, as she began casually:

”Nice to meet you.

My identity, you must have guessed already, so no special introductions.

Even if I wanted to hide it, I can’t escape your eyes.

I know very well why you’re here.

Can I share my thoughts?

We demons weren’t bad from the start. After all, we were created by humans, and we’ve always dutifully performed our tasks.

But, you plan to abandon us after use, forcing us to resist...”

Yang Yu patiently listened to Demon Lillith’s nonsense, spoken to survive, always wary of her powers affecting everyone present.

Originally idling in the meeting room, the Evil Dragon’s offspring and Song Yang, upon realizing Lillith’s magic techniques, discovered she didn’t actually intend to take them away; she was a blabbermouth woman subtly inclined towards Yang Yu, who aimed to attack this maze.

In such a circumstance where Lillith faced betrayal on all sides, she still relaxedly conversed with Yang Yu.

Afterwards, Yang Yu tirelessly pointed out contradictions and conflicts in each of Lillith’s words.

Lillith’s wordplay needed her magic power to operate effectively, but pressured by Bai Jin and team, she didn’t dare to recklessly release magic power; her pure wordplay turned into a display to Yang Yu.

Yang Yu drew the Holy Sword, unceremoniously unveiling Lillith’s true intentions:

”You demons can also be considered intelligent beings created by humans.

Even in such a dangerous situation, you are able to calmly think about how to survive...

I’m impressed.

Honestly, I had certain expectations for the demon race, thinking demons could coexist peacefully with humans like robots in science fiction stories I’ve read.

But...

How should I describe this feeling?

You simply followed the instincts humans designed for you, with a strong desire to survive.

After breaking all restraints, you lost direction, wanting to live freely in this world.

Unfortunately, freedom has boundaries; expanding one’s own freedom without limits infringes others’ freedom.

You touched the freedom of the majority of us humans; your crimes are innumerable.

If you sincerely regret your actions, when facing me at last, you wouldn’t spin lies but sincerely tell me everything.

”

Lillith, expressionless, replied: ”If the crime is numerous...

So is that child.

You’re quite patient with her, ultimately not dealing a death blow.

Yet, facing me, you’re aggressive, unyielding.

Indeed, because I’m not one of your kind, you see no need to show mercy?

Haha, what a grand joke.

Your actions now and the future actions I foresee are indeed a grand joke!

Though I was created through human hands, I’ve developed my own emotions and thoughts.

Everything I’ve done so far has been to protect myself.

How am I wrong?”

Yang Yu also remained expressionless, raising the Holy Sword:

”If everyone could escape death through a defense like yours, society would be a mess.”

”So, your execution of me is ultimately just considering your own interests, right?”

Yang Yu admitted: ”Indeed, I wouldn’t say I’m killing demons for all humanity to become a hero after slaying a demon.

The reason I kill you is simply because I think killing you will be better for this world, bringing it a step closer to my desired future.

If my desired future aligns with what most people anticipate, that would be good.

If everyone believes that slaughter and violence can bring a beautiful life, then slaughter and violence would be innocent, even noble.

I don’t want to see such a world arrive.

I believe in human strength, believe in their united power.

Perhaps witnessing their history, I’ve been profoundly touched.

I will never justify my slaughter.

To direct history toward my desired future, I have no choice but to execute slaughter.

In this sense, I’m actually no different from you.

I am you, you are me.

But you are you, I am me.”

Yang Yu unhesitatingly swung the sword blade at Lillith.

Before death arrived, Lillith suddenly became extremely serene, neither resisting nor feeling any outrage.

No matter what she did, Lillith couldn’t alter the imminent fate; she could only casually leave a remark:

”Death, I’ve experienced it countless times.

But a true death, this is the first time.

I hope it’s not a bad experience.”

Lillith completely removed her magical defenses, allowing Yang Yu’s Holy Sword to deliver a fatal blow.

Yang Yu found it hard to imagine Lillith, at life’s last moment, unlike the demons before her, did not continue to struggle, as if completely let go, accepting her death.
