Chapter 837: Chapter 417: Devouring This World (Part 2)

The flames around him exploded madly, continuously venting his negative emotions.

He sensed something, and his eyes suddenly brightened.

In an instant, he rushed toward a direction, forcibly tearing the space with his hands to reach a layer within the subspace.

On this layer, the sound of some instruments kept ringing, the beeping sounds helping Barro’s breath to steady somewhat.

Barro looked at the young man in the center of the large pile of Alchemy Instruments, and Baiyi’s expression remained unchanged. On the Light Side, his temperament became increasingly divine and natural, although his Charm was reduced by thirty when the Insect Emperor emerged.

But it did not prevent him from being the most charming existence currently in the entire Underworld.

”What’s wrong, King? I’m preparing for the counterattack against Hell.”

Baiyi’s voice was not loud, but it slowly calmed the more agitated Barro.

He felt an unprecedented sense of relaxation and took a deep breath of the pungent scent left by the Alchemy remnants.

”What...what’s happening to me? I sensed my death.”

The wings behind Barro trembled violently, instantly appearing not far from Baiyi, but were blocked by a barrier with no way forward.

Baiyi continued his action and said softly, ”It’s simple, you failed Hell’s plan, and now Hell has locked onto you. Two Mighty Divine Powers and five Intermediate Divine Powers are watching your every move, so of course, you will feel uneasy.”

”No, it’s not!”

Barro’s emotions spiraled out of control, a punch struck out, and the massive sound, accompanied by the tugging of space and flames, covered the protective barrier with cracks, but it did not shatter directly.

Barro roared, ”I can feel the prying, they can’t get in, it’s not, the death I feel does not come from outside.”

”Tell me, what have you done to me?”

The roar became more heavily filled with anger, as the surrounding Alchemical aura continuously attempted to pull back the sanity of this Alchemy Creation. But in the face of the crisis of death, particularly when Barro, who could clearly become supremely powerful, was to die inexplicably, he simply couldn’t calm down.

He raised his fist again, ready to drop it with the Devouring Flame.

But at this moment, a Potion flew out from the semi-broken barrier.

”If you can’t withstand it, you can drink this. Hell will counterattack in less than half a day; King, you now need stronger power.”

Baiyi’s voice carried a hint of helplessness, like a parent trying to reason with a mischievous child.

Buzz~

Barro’s fist halted, and that golden Potion hovered in mid-air.

He growled angrily, ”It’s really not, I have a premonition.”

”You’ve seldom been watched by Mighty Divine Powers, have you?” Baiyi asked calmly.

Barro was slightly bewildered, thinking for a moment; it was not seldom for him, it was absolutely never.

As the previous Flame Demon, the Mighty Divine Powers of the Abyss were not something benevolent.

Existences under the Gods, by instinct, would avoid that kind of powerful gaze. After all, the Abyss was never short of strong figures.

A Mighty Divine Power would care little for talent, and might crush someone who seemed too arrogant.

”Moreover, the two Mighty Divine Powers have malice towards you, King. Mighty Divine Powers can’t enter, but a variety of Mighty Divine Power could make the Underworld unable to resist, which should be the source of your unease.”

”Do you still remember our agreement? The contract is an Abyssal contract, if you make this move...”

Baiyi did not finish, but Barro had already realized.

He recalled the contract’s content.

Also, his agreement to occupy this world and block Hell for Xia, his eyes flickered slightly.

He raised his hand, and the golden Potion flew directly into his mouth.

Crunch, crunch~

Lightly chewing, the strong aroma of alcohol filled his mouth, this Potion was like the most delicious wine in the world, even the Insect Emperor Barro felt an indescribable enjoyment.

The alcohol coursed through him along with various energies, even his soul and brain swirled with energy.

Some of the anxiety within him disappeared instantly.

”This is...”

He felt a sense of incredulity at the current ease and looked at Baiyi with a somewhat peculiar gaze.

”Your power is too strong, to stop this unease, only Highly Poisonous and Curse can block your senses, King, you need to grow even stronger, otherwise the current Insect Race would not withstand the prepared Hell.”

Baiyi’s voice still held a helpless tone, seemingly entirely oblivious to the Insect Emperor’s agitated mood.

The Insect Emperor pondered, carefully recalling the contract content, seemingly with a clause about not harming the contract partner.

Now that Baiyi hadn’t been punished by the Abyss, it meant the previous Alchemy Poison and Curse didn’t count as harm to him.

But...

”The contract doesn’t say I have to guard this world.”

The Insect Emperor thought, leisurely turning around, tearing through the subspace, returning to reality.

It was four in the morning.

The Insect Emperor pondered, a slight smile appearing on his face.

”Soldiers, devour this world, and then we’ll leave here.”

The Insect Emperor gave the command through the insect spiritual network.

Instantly, a massive Insect Hive began churning out soldiers again, and as time went on, the world grew increasingly weakened, edging closer to the Root Source with every passing moment.

But the Insect Emperor would not care about that much, after all, since the contract didn’t state he couldn’t leave this world, merely requiring mutual assistance, and not mutual harm.

Then, naturally, it devoured this world and moved on to devour more worlds. Only after becoming a truly indestructible powerhouse would he discuss other matters.

If he could attain Mighty Divine Power, he would also not fear the Abyss’s punishment, breaking the contract would be feasible.

The disappearance of the anxiety made Barro more and more delighted the more he thought about it.

He glanced upward, although now undetectable, he knew those Gods were still watching him.

Buzz, the massive Insect Hive slowly emerged from behind him; he sat on the throne, his energy beginning to rise.

Now, over a billion insects were outside devouring this world.

Even if he only consumed half the energy, there would still be four thousand insects birthed every second.

Both power and mass deployment were his forte.

This was the strength of the Insect Emperor.

As time ticked by, his power was about to break through Baiyi’s Poison and Curse.

The world too was finally teetering and beginning to lose momentum.

A strong sense of repulsion hit him.

Buzz~

Roar!

All across the world, over fifteen billion insects roared maniacally.

The snowball method made the Insect Race grow more numerous.

They connected into a massive network, rendering the Underworld incapable of expelling the Insect Emperor.

He continued to spawn soldiers, continuously creating more. Once the World Rules began to collapse, that’s when he would act, it would be soon....

Meanwhile.

On the Hell Side, Siel was already awaiting beside the Abyssal Passage.

Although not sure what happened to make the Insect Emperor settle down.

According to the perspective of the Gods, however, the Insect Emperor’s time was running short; within an hour, the Insect Emperor, about to reach Intermediate Divine Power, would die.

This was the limitation of the Alchemy Creations.

No profession could create a pathway leading to greatness.

Even those terrifying Divine Abominations, the strongest among them would only be at the pinnacle of Weak Divine Power.

In history, the strongest Alchemist created Giant Statues that were only at Intermediate Divine Power, and the materials consumed were immeasurable.

The Ancient Gods called might ’eternal,’ that wasn’t something reachable simply through valuable materials.

Deep in the spaces of the Underworld.

Baiyi, once again transforming to the Dark Side, tossed down a Potion bottle.

Buzz~

The aura on Baiyi suddenly began to swell, with scarlet eyes appearing in the space rifts, maliciously gazing at one location.

He continued taking Potions out of the void, drinking them one after another. After consuming the last of the Extremely Evil Potion, a terrifying aura spiraled around the area indefinitely; even Low-tier Extraordinaries, if they sensed this aura, would instantly have their Sanity Value wiped, beginning a distortion.

[You drank an Epic Potion, Extremely Evil ×9, Divine Intelligence +70, lasting thirty minutes.]

Baiyi took out all his reserve food from the Demon Realm.

These were formed but were sealed by Alchemy Inscription’s Evil Thoughts.

They appeared black, the size of a fist, each with tendrils twisting unconsciously, most of the aura reaching Legendary.

Baiyi grabbed one Evil Thought and stuffed it into his mouth to chew.

Buzz~

The malice on him suddenly escalated, more eyes appeared around, glaring ruthlessly at a space rift location.

The malice became increasingly flagrant, gradually carrying an intense aggressiveness.

”Cough... ha... haha... I’m leaving, I’m leaving, I only came to see Brother Baiyi, didn’t mean anything else, haha...”

From the direction of countless eyes glaring, the voice of Pu Sheng was somewhat embarrassed.

After speaking, his presence completely disappeared.

The eyes also lost their target, aimlessly observing all directions.
