Chapter 514: Chapter 264: Silkworm Life 2.0_2

”Netherworld... what exactly is Charles planning?”

”Meow.”

”Everyone pursues power, but what you do after gaining power is the true purpose. Our purpose is clear, but Charles’s purpose is something I can’t quite understand.”

”He’s scheming for the power of the Ancient Gods, dismantling the Small World to supplement Xia’s rules, but now he’s letting the Netherworld muddy the waters... I can’t understand...”

”Meow~”

”Hmm, since the purpose is the same, we don’t need to bother with it.... Perhaps the Sea Race can be unveiled ahead of time...”

”Meow~”

”Dongwu City.... Yes, our friend there seems to be getting too comfortable, we can’t be the only ones busy while he stays relaxed as the City Lord, can we?”

Pu Sheng pondered for a long time, then suddenly his eyes lit up: ”Got it.”

The cat on his shoulder waited curiously.

Pu Sheng didn’t hold back, smiling as he said: ”If we can’t win the war, that’s okay, we can summon the Nightmare World, even if we can’t kill him, at least we can keep him busy, right? And who knows, he might die in there?”

He had a glint in his eye: ”Not only the Nightmare World, perhaps some dangerous World Marvels could be brought in to give him trouble. After all, he sent that disgusting Dwarf to mess with us, so we must reciprocate!”

”Meow?”

”Charles... uh, forget it, that guy’s becoming more and more perverse, I don’t really want to go to the Sun Federation before the Sea Race appears...”

”It’s not about being timid; that pervert has reached the Demigod Format, though his power hasn’t fully caught up yet, he’s close to touching the rules of the Ancient Gods, tsk... but reciprocation is not impossible, let me think...”

”Got it, hehe...”

”Being busy is good, if everyone’s busy, then no one can bother me....”

-----------------

Outside of Dongwu City.

”Where are we going?”

Diane looked at the scenery flashing past below, curious.

”To find a Mutated Zone, I need to conduct some experiments.” Baiyi replied with a smile.

Diane had completed her seclusion cultivation three days earlier, and the wedding plans were temporarily put aside. She was a bit embarrassed and used cultivation as an excuse to dodge the topic for a while.

Baiyi, on the second day, used the last Special Skill Point, and the modification of Silkworm Life gradually perfected under the panel’s deductions.

The potential of the 2.0 version of Silkworm Life was roughly the same as the 1.0 version, but it had added some new characteristics.

For instance, Baiyi could influence the initial Specialty of Silkworm Life to a certain extent.

It could even, in some degree, implant some concepts into Silkworm Life.

Simply put, the initial Silkworm Life created by Baiyi was incomplete, just a creature formed from piles of High-tier Materials.

But now it’s complete, steering Silkworm Life more towards modified creatures rather than natural beings.

Of course, the deduction on the panel was an advancement of knowledge. For an Alchemist, being able to control the modified entity is what’s good, not solely based on potential.

For example, Evil Thought, this modification represents incompleteness, very powerful, but uncontrollable, which makes it a failure.

However, Baiyi’s skills inherently represented a form of knowledge, and the enhanced Silkworm Life allowed him to create more confidently, without necessarily sacrificing its potential.

After all, Baiyi never intended to control the modified Silkworm Life; they just needed to grow in their respective planes.

”What kind of experiment is it? Do you need my help?” Diane asked enthusiastically.

”Yes!” Baiyi nodded, then said: ”But not right now.”

The Nether Plane itself is not particularly troublesome compared to other invading planes.

But it’s always good to be prepared, and tossing a Silkworm Life in during crucial moments is still viable.

Diane felt speechless: ”Then why did you say anything? Had my hopes up for nothing.”

”Wasn’t it you who asked? I was planning to seek your help when I needed it.” Baiyi shrugged helplessly.

”Alright, alright, but really, is it okay to give me this guy? It’s almost become your signature.” Diane asked with bright eyes.

She’s been coveting Bodun for a long time, always wanting a cool Mechanical Giant Dragon, but Baiyi never had time to make one for her. She’s even caught a Silver Giant Dragon, just lacking the opportunity.

”The Sword Saint and your brother gave me some spatial knowledge, it’s not much use to me now. It would be better to follow you and see if it can grow some more.”

Baiyi spoke as he let Bodun slow down; up ahead, a Mutated Zone had entered their Perception range.

This Mutated Zone was extremely chaotic, the killing was frenzied, seeming to herald the emergence of an Abyss Lord.

”Bone Dragon growth is difficult, while Witch Demon Dragon is a bit easier. Even if it can grow, it won’t have a very high ceiling.”

Just as Diane finished speaking, Bodun beneath her trembled fiercely, its Soul Fire flickered wildly—it didn’t hear that wrong, did it? A Bone Dragon could still grow?

It wanted to ask something but felt an observing gaze, so it chose to remain silent.

”It’s fine, Bodun’s current modifications are still very powerful and can protect you well.” Baiyi observed for a while and instructed: ”Kill them all, this Mutated Zone isn’t fully formed.”

Bodun nodded and suddenly accelerated. After a loop, the scales on its steely tail opened, and green smoke began to spread.

It dashed into the Mutated Zone, inserting itself from the edge, quickly passed through, and flew off into the distance.

Not far from flying away, the area was shrouded in mist, where the originally slaughtering mutated monsters abruptly quieted down.

With Baiyi’s level of Alchemy, Bodun’s highly poisonous gas now ensured a certain death for Silver creatures upon contact, with no possibility of rescue.

Moreover, this poisonous gas could refill itself, albeit with a long Cooling Time, saving a lot of effort.

Watching this scene, Diane’s eyes gradually lit up, unable to hide her affection for the Mechanical Giant Dragon: ”Next time, switch to another function.”

”Certainly, madam.” Bodun immediately responded, and with Baiyi making it clear that it was being given to Diane, the Necromancer in its heart surpassed Baiyi.

Mechanical modifications are indeed good, but in the heart of a Transcendent, true strength still comes from within.

While seeking out the Mutated Zone, Baiyi paused because.... a new announcement was released on the player forum.

On the forum, the Dawn Server issued an apology statement.

The gist was that originally, the three major districts were planning to release an April Fool’s Day teaser, but the other two servers had released genuine teasers, so the Dawn District’s April Fool’s teaser was re-updated.

Baiyi fell into silence. Although today on Blue Star was indeed April 1st... this game company never had a precedent for joking.

There was none in the previous life nor in this one, which means... the Hell invasion is cancelled?

What about Feiya’s side?

He clicked into the new teaser, and was once again silent.

Sure enough, the teaser had changed....

And this time, the changes, though not precisely the same as the Star Federation’s, were indistinguishable, mirroring the replicated scenes he imagined.

Players were called to cleanse this continent, establish a series of Teleportation Arrays, destroy kingdoms and Mutated Zones, thus allowing Xia to restore New God-like order.

Players were engaging in discussion at this moment, most were criticizing the update times, but some were discussing this teaser.

The opinions in these discussions were mostly schadenfreude, or comparing rankings, generally believing that strong Federations counterattacked while weak ones took the blows, praising the game company.

After all, though North America bullies others in reality, in the game, aren’t they still being pounded, and so on.

”Stop.”

Diane’s voice rang out, she turned to ask: ”This area has taken shape, only the Lord hasn’t grown yet, should we switch?”

Baiyi snapped back: ”Just go in directly, this one doesn’t require much effort anyway.”

Bodun glanced back, seemingly waiting for Diane’s order.

Baiyi: ...

Slap~ roar~

After slapping it with Spiritual Power, the dragon, which seemed to recognize only one master, immediately straightened up.

Rapidly approaching the Mutated Zone.
