Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1693: Chapter 1693: Truly a Genius

Although Han Yan had already explained that she had just arrived at the Divine Continent and couldn’t be compared to her former self, he was like a turtle eating a scale, dead set on following Han Yan. Faced with his blind trust, Han Yan was somewhat helpless.

Anyway, this guy has an extraordinary origin and physique different from ordinary people, so whether it’s the Holy Court Continent or the Divine Continent, he’s fine. Han Yan estimated he’s not that easy to die, and couldn’t be bothered to persuade him anymore.

”Even if I taught you, you wouldn’t be able to learn.” Ye Yian shook his head, explaining, ”After becoming a priest, one must undergo the temple’s baptism to cultivate the corresponding divine arts.”

”Baptism?” Han Yan asked.

”That’s right, I’m not too clear on the specifics, but if you don’t go through the baptism, no matter how exquisite the priest’s divine arts are, they can’t be cultivated, and might even lead to losing control and a body-exploding death,” Ye Yian said.

”So that’s how it is.” Han Yan originally intended to take the opportunity to ask Ye Yian for advice on priest divine techniques, but upon hearing this, gave up the idea.

With such favorable conditions, cultivating after entering the temple wouldn’t be too difficult, so why take unnecessary risks.

With nothing else to do, Han Yan began training in the martial arts learned from Mu Tu. Fortunately, although the carriage was a bit cumbersome, the space was wide enough; as long as the movements weren’t too large, she could move around freely.

This combat skill seemed very simple at first, purely refining bones and strengthening the body. In terms of finesse and mystery, it was far behind the sword techniques of the Holy Court Continent, but after training for a few days, Han Yan discovered that this set of combat skills wasn’t as simple as it seemed, with an idea similar to what Ye Yian said: returning to simplicity, a heavy sword without an edge.

Han Yan even had an illusion that this so-called martial arts was actually a simplified version of some combat skill, simplified to the extreme. If it wasn’t simplified, Han Yan couldn’t imagine how powerful this combat skill could be.

Is this truly a combat skill devised by those commoners on the Divine Continent who couldn’t become priests to survive? Why would it be simplified like this? Han Yan had some doubts about Ye Yian’s statement. She didn’t suspect Ye Yian of deceiving her; if he really intended harm, there was no need to go through so much effort. Just leaving Mu Family Village would be her death.

However, his understanding of martial arts was limited, many things were just hearsay, so he likely didn’t know the hidden mysteries.

Knowing that this combat skill is not simple, Han Yan certainly wouldn’t slack off and diligently trained whenever she had time.

The carriage was moving further from Mu Family Village, and the force of heaven and earth enveloping it became more intense. Clearly, there was a barrier protecting the surroundings of Mu Family Village; otherwise, the villagers wouldn’t survive. Han Yan understood why the temple’s feudal land was so important to the Mu Family; only the temple’s bestowed land would have such a seal.

Due to the purity and directness of the force of heaven and earth, inside the carriage, it was sometimes cold, sometimes hot, as if alternating between a frozen cellar and a side of a furnace, with her body sometimes heavy like a giant stone on her shoulders, and sometimes light as if floating on clouds. If other cultivators from the Holy Court Continent were here, even if their cultivation wasn’t suppressed, against this force of laws, they might be exhausted in a few hours.

Han Yan focused her mind and calmly trained in martial arts repeatedly. Although it wasn’t particularly easy, it wasn’t too uncomfortable, and she didn’t use any swordsman cultivation.

Realizing the benefits of martial arts, Han Yan was even more delighted and trained more diligently.

Opposite her, observing Han Yan’s tireless and engrossed training, Ye Yian’s eyes flashed with surprise.

He had also trained in these martial arts before, spending nearly a year to gain some results, just barely able to withstand the powerful force of heaven and earth. But Han Yan had trained only for a few days and seemed able to resist the force, and her movements showed an aura that was not inferior to his year-long hard training, seeming to have grasped the essence of martial arts.

”Genius, it’s no wonder the Holy Master chose you, truly a genius!” Ye Yian thought with silent admiration.

Yet, he didn’t know that Han Yan learned martial arts so quickly not because she was a genius, and the Holy Master hadn’t taken her as a student.

”Divine Sense, only with a strong divine sense can one clearly perceive various external forces of laws, find the most suitable force for their body size, and integrate them with temple secret techniques for separation and condensation. Also, a strong heart meridian is essential; otherwise, even if a certain force of heaven and earth is isolated and condensed, it cannot store and accumulate, possibly leading to heart meridian rupture and death, which is why the temple has such qualifications requirements,” Ye Yian said.

Lastly, he added, ”But Holy Saint doesn’t have to worry; with your original cultivation, both your divine sense and heart meridian shouldn’t be a problem, far stronger than ordinary priests on the Divine Continent. Just be careful to hide your Sword Dao cultivation so it isn’t discovered.”

Han Yan was stunned; divine sense and heart meridian, weren’t these her strongest points? Her divine sense was exceptionally strong, not even ordinary Sword Saints might surpass her, and importantly, it hadn’t been suppressed even on the Divine Continent, remaining as before.

As for the heart meridian, what a joke; Mu Family’s Heavenly Heart Technique is meant for heart meridian cultivation, and her Heavenly Heart Technique has leveled up several times. The strength of her heart meridian is unparalleled, and her heart meridian contains a Heart Protecting Ancient Sword. Though currently suppressed, Han Yan believes it will emerge as she adapts to the Divine Continent, guarding her meridians like before.

Moreover, she has the core Xuanhuang energy, making the attribute of any force of heaven and earth irrelevant to her. She can train whatever she wants, however she wants.

Han Yan was almost moved to tears with joy. According to Ye Yian, why did she feel more suited for cultivating priest divine arts? This was practically a cultivation method tailored for her.

Her quick grasp of martial arts largely related to her past training in the sword techniques Nine Heavens Star Fall and Star Falling in Eight Desolates. To master these sword techniques, Han Yan had to practice medical alchemy, sword casting technique, array alchemy, sealing and breaking seal, and various strange and mysterious arts. Drawing parallels and extrapolation had long become second nature to her, and besides, this martial arts, simplified to the extreme, was easier compared to the Star Falling Eight Desolate Sword; cultivating and comprehending it posed no difficulty.
