Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1487: Chapter 1487: Unwavering Loyalty Unto Death

Fortunately, the Royal Guard had been instructed early on to be particularly respectful to Mu Hanyan and did not dare to urge her, just waited silently aside.

”Alright, Hanyan, if we keep talking, it’ll be dark soon. It’s time to depart.” Lu Nianxin said with a smile on his face, though tears clearly glistened in his eyes.

”Grandmother, Grandfather, Father, Mother, elders, take care.” Mu Hanyan bit her lip, suppressing the thousand words in her heart, bowed to everyone with a gesture of respect as a junior, and said.

”Take good care of yourself, don’t worry about us.” Yue Fanling wiped her eyes, struggling to squeeze out a smile and said to Mu Hanyan.

”Hmm.” Mu Hanyan’s throat was choked with emotion, and she responded heavily.

”Oh, take this.” Mu Beichen handed a scroll to Mu Hanyan.

”What’s this?” Mu Hanyan asked.

”It’s a portrait of your grandmother. She’s been traveling for several years and hasn’t returned yet. If I’m not mistaken, she must have gone to the North Abyss Misty Plain.” Mu Beichen said solemnly.

”What, Grandmother went to Beiyuan Fog Origin?” Mu Hanyan was shocked.

When she just returned to the Capital, Mu Hanyan heard that her grandmother went traveling but did not know where exactly. Today, she found out that it was actually the North Abyss Misty Plain. Such a long time has passed, could something have happened?

”You should not underestimate your grandmother. Her strength is greater than mine, even if the North Abyss Misty Plain is extremely dangerous, she can manage to get away safely. The reason she’s been away for so long probably has something to do with opportunity. I’m giving you this portrait so that you can recognize her. If by chance you meet her in the North Abyss Misty Plain, you wouldn’t know who she is.” Mu Beichen saw what Mu Hanyan was worried about and laughed heartily.

Mu Hanyan knew Mu Beichen’s character well, realizing that his words were not to comfort her but truly had confidence in her grandmother. With Mu Beichen’s capability, he must have ventured into the North Abyss Misty Plain for practice and knew its dangers well, so if he says there’s no danger to Grandmother, there surely isn’t. Mu Hanyan felt reassured.

Opening the portrait, remembering Grandmother’s appearance in her heart, Mu Hanyan put the scroll into the Star Disk Space. Turning around, she saw Ye Lanfeng with a troubled look, pondering something.

”What’s wrong with you?” Mu Hanyan asked softly.

”I was thinking, it’s one thing that your grandmother is stronger than your grandfather, but that your grandmother’s ability surpasses that of your grandfather as well. Is the tradition of the Mu and Yue families always to have females overpowering males? I’m worried about my future.” Ye Lanfeng said, genuinely serious and worried.

Mu Hanyan was dumbstruck and then rolled her eyes heavily.

Even though Ye Lanfeng’s voice was extremely low, it couldn’t escape Lu Nianxin and the others’ ears, causing them all to burst into laughter uncontrollably, lightening much of the leaving sorrow.

Mu Hanyan gratefully glanced at Ye Lanfeng, knowing he was trying to lighten everyone’s mood with humor due to the departure, otherwise, given his status as a Saint, how could he say such things.

Mu Hanyan and Ye Lanfeng boarded the carriage, waving energetically to everyone.

Behind them, suddenly came a dense sound of hoofbeats, to see Huayue, Zirong, Jiang Yuzhe, Tang Bufan, and Ye Yanran all with longswords at their waists and bags on their backs, riding Red Charcoal Cloud Smoke Beasts, galloping forward, the morning sunlight casting upon them, making them look even more heroic.

”I knew it, this time you are still going too.” Mu Hanyan looked at the bags on their backs and said with a wry smile.

North Abyss Misty Plain is too dangerous, Mu Hanyan didn’t initially want them to go. Huayue aside, Jiang Yuzhe, Tang Bufan, and Ye Yanran still have living relatives, Zirong also has a fiancée who depends on him; Mu Hanyan didn’t want them to follow her into danger.

But since they hadn’t appeared to see them off earlier, Mu Hanyan knew that they had most likely decided to follow her, in which case there was no need to see her off.

”I haven’t found the real murderer of my parents yet, even if I did, I wouldn’t be a match for them. North Abyss Misty Plain is undoubtedly a great opportunity to enhance my skills.” Huayue said coolly.

Although he has no memories of his parents, blood is thicker than water, and he couldn’t be indifferent to the deep hatred for his parents.

Unfortunately, Fen Qianji had not been in the Holy Court for long, and despite several brief interactions, Huayue did not find the real murderer of his parents.

And by Gai Huangji’s previous words, Huayue’s parents’ death evidently had nothing to do with him.

Until now, Huayue didn’t know who had killed his parents. But given Gai Huangji’s strength, it’s easy to imagine how powerful his father must be. After all, he, like Gai Huangji, was one of the temple’s Divine Guardian Priests. The one who could kill him obviously isn’t someone Huayue could deal with now, so his reason is also quite reasonable.

”Wanqing said she would only marry me when I become a top expert of the Holy Court Continent, I wish to start a family for the Zi Family as soon as possible, so I have to bet on the North Abyss Misty Plain.” Zirong said helplessly, spreading his hands.

Sounds like quite a valid reason.

”I want to find out the truth about the extermination of the Tang and Han families.” Tang Bufan said concisely, with a reasonable reason too.

”Back then, I refused to follow Yan Yu Chu and was expelled from the Jiang Family; from that day, I vowed that one day, I will become the strongest in the Holy Court Continent, and let them see how big a mistake it was to sacrifice me to affiliate with the Yan Family. North Abyss Misty Plain will be my rise!” Jiang Yuzhe said passionately, clenching his fists.

Yet Mu Hanyan couldn’t help but feel that the reason seems so fake! And she never heard about him being expelled from the Jiang Family?

Well, regardless of truth or falsehood, the reason seems quite solid. Young and reckless, who hasn’t been hot-blooded, who doesn’t wish to prove themselves, who doesn’t have a bit of pride... Even though from the fact he was gradually numbed by Zirong’s constant blows, he seemed to have little pride, still, this passionate moment of Jiang Yuzhe indeed reflects the vibrant energy of youthful recklessness.

In the end, Mu Hanyan’s gaze fell on Ye Yanran, curious about what reason she might have.

”Don’t look at me, I have no choice. You know what I used to do, right? As the saying goes, humans have slip-ups, horses have stumble. Two days ago I planned to make a big haul in Yunjing City, but failed, and my true identity got revealed. Anyway, Anyun Country has no place for me now, if I don’t follow you, I only have a dead end.” Ye Yanran said bluntly.

”It’s people who have slip-ups, horses have stumbles. Also, if Anyun doesn’t work, you could go to Shangyue or West Qin.” Jiang Yuzhe carefully corrected.

”Mind your own business. I’m not like you who can make up stories so well. Anyway, I’m sticking with Mu Hanyan, wherever she goes, I go.” Ye Yanran thundered furiously shouting like a lion, ”You filthy men, your reasons are all like a blooming flower!” Ye Yanran bitterly muttered in a little voice.

Mu Hanyan smiled; she knows well that no matter how reasonable the reasons Huayue and others provided are, they are merely excuses. Their intention to follow her as always, life and death together, is the only true reason.
