Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1152: Chapter 1152: Just That Willful

The next morning, Han Yan once again headed to the Array Dao Hall.

Along the way, the disciples she encountered all looked at her with strange eyes, puzzled in their hearts: Could it be that yesterday’s bullying of Tian Wenliang wasn’t enough, so she came again today? But didn’t Dean Jiang say that both sides should not create any more conflicts? For Han Yan to come here early in the morning causing trouble, does she not even consider Dean Jiang?

Despite their doubts, they couldn’t help but feel a bit excited and expectant. As a disciple injuring a mentor and forcing him to flee like a stray dog, such a scene isn’t something you see every day. To be precise, it hasn’t happened much in Long Yan Academy’s tens of thousands of years of history. Being able to witness it was a great opportunity for them.

”There are five mentors in the Array Dao Hall: Tian Daoist Tian Wenliang, Lord Zhou Wuqing, Lord Huang Ru Hai, Lord Li Shengkai, and Lord Gan Qiyi. Master, who do you want to learn the Array Formation Technique from?” Tan Yu asked.

”Who is the strongest?” Han Yan asked.

”The strongest is, of course, Lord Gan Qiyi, who is also the head of the Array Dao Hall.” Saying this, Tan Yu hesitated, then continued, ”However, Lord Gan is also Tian Wenliang’s teaching mentor. If Master wants to learn the Array Formation Technique from him, it might be inappropriate.”

”Then switch to someone else. Who is the strongest among the others?” Han Yan said without hesitation.

She only needed to learn the basics of the Array Formation Technique to deduce the Array Principle of the Heavenly Sword Seven Killings Array, using it to comprehend Star Falling in Eight Desolates. She didn’t need the mentor’s array skills to be very strong, and there was no need to seek trouble with Gan Qiyi.

”The other mentors don’t differ much in strength. The most amiable one is Lord Zhou Wuqing.” Tan Yu thought for a moment and said.

Yesterday, Han Yan bullied Tian Wenliang so thoroughly that it could be said she slapped the entire Array Dao Hall in the face. Even if someone strictly adhered to teacher’s ethics and put aside personal grievances, they would still consider Tian Wenliang’s face. Who would be willing to teach Han Yan the Array Formation Technique? Only Zhou Wuqing, who was the most amiable, had some hope.

”Alright, then it’s him. Take me to see him.” Han Yan nodded and said.

”Yes, Master, but we still have to inform Lord Gan first.” Tan Yu said.

According to the academy’s rules, those who come to study strange and mysterious arts at the subsidiary hall of Tenglong Academy must first see the dean. Previously, Han Yan and others had gone to the Soaring Dragon Tower. However, Jiang Yunhe apparently didn’t favor Han Yan. Upon understanding her purpose, he casually gave her a token and directed her to the Array Dao Hall.

Now, the two still needed to pay respects to the head of the Array Dao Hall, Gan Qiyi.

Though Tan Yu was an Outer Disciple, similar in status to a servant, he was quite familiar with the various halls and palaces of Long Yan Academy’s three branches. He led Han Yan towards the main hall of the Array Dao Hall.

”What is Han Yan thinking, daring to come to the Array Dao Hall to learn the Array Formation Technique?”

”Arrogant, truly arrogant. She just gravely injured Lord Tian yesterday, ruining his reputation, and still dares to come to the Array Dao Hall to seek mentorship. Isn’t this an open slap in the face?”

”Not just arrogant, but willful too. With things going this way, who would dare to teach her the Array Formation Technique? Even if you want to slap Lord Tian in the face, you shouldn’t waste time for nothing.”

”Why else is she known as Long Yan’s number one playboy? Acting on impulse without considering consequences, entering Long Yan Academy with difficulty only to waste precious time over a momentary grudge.”

Behind them, the disciples whispered to each other, clearly disapproving of Han Yan’s actions and not believing she could learn anything at the Array Dao Hall.

Though they feared Han Yan, keeping their voices low, Han Yan’s sharp Six Senses allowed her to hear them, yet she wasn’t angry and just smiled faintly.

A slap in the face? If this counted as a slap, then Tian Wenliang ought to be secretly pleased. What she wanted was far more than that!

Before long, the two arrived at the main hall of the Array Dao Hall.

Teaching time hadn’t commenced yet. An elder with flowing white beard, exuding a masterly demeanor, saw Han Yan and Tan Yu’s unfamiliar faces and asked, ”Who are you both? Are you also disciples here to cultivate in the Array Path?”

By appearances, this should be the top Array Master of the Array Dao Hall, Gan Qiyi, master of Tian Liangwen.

”Disciple Han Yan, here to study the Array Path in the Array Dao Hall. This is the token given to me by Dean Jiang.” Han Yan presented the token and said.

”What, you’re Han Yan!” Gan Qiyi was slightly startled, clearly not expecting Han Yan to dare come to the Array Dao Hall seeking mentorship. A hint of disdain flashed in Gan Qiyi’s eyes.

Han Yan nodded, noticing Gan Qiyi’s unfriendly demeanor towards her, which she had anticipated, not taking it to heart.

”Hmph, as an academy disciple, you disrespect your mentors and break academy rules. Relying on some strength, you dare to openly injure a mentor, yet you still have the face to come seek mentorship at the Array Dao Hall!” Gan Qiyi snorted coldly.

”Lord Gan, if the disciple disrespects the mentor or breaks academy rules, Dean Jiang will deal with it. Since Dean Jiang hasn’t commented, your remarks may be a bit slanderous.” Han Yan rebuffed.

She never expected to learn the Array Formation Technique from Gan Qiyi. Seeing his stance, she knew that if she conceded, she wouldn’t just fail to learn but would be kicked out of the Array Dao Hall, so she didn’t bother to be courteous.

”Are you using the dean to press me?” Upon hearing Han Yan’s words, Gan Qiyi became even angrier.

”I’m merely stating the facts. If Lord Gan has any doubts or dissatisfaction, you can verify with Dean Jiang.” Han Yan replied calmly.

”You...” Gan Qiyi was momentarily at a loss for words.

Yesterday’s incident had already seen interference from Jiang Yunhe, and even he couldn’t handle Han Yan, so how could Gan Qiyi create an issue? Han Yan used Jiang Yunhe to pressure him, and he truly had no means to counter.

”Alright, alright, since you want to follow me to learn the Array Formation Technique, then learn. I heard that you passed the Beast Soul Tower trial upon entering the academy, learned the Sword Casting Technique in just a day to pass Nie Fangsheng’s test, and then broke the Heavenly Sword Seven Killings Array yesterday, finally dealing my disappointing disciple a heavy blow. I must see how extraordinary your natural talent is.” Gan Qiyi said sarcastically with a forced smile.

”Lord Gan misunderstands, I’m not here to learn the Array Path from you. I’m interested in the other mentors.” Han Yan said bluntly.

Her tone and demeanor clearly indicated, ”Your little trick can’t catch my eye. I’m not interested in you, and I’ve chosen another mentor.”

”Fine, go learn from whoever you want. Here’s a token, take it.” Infuriated by the contempt, Gan Qiyi’s beard quivered, and he threw a token to Han Yan, yelling furiously.
