Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 1115: Chapter 1115: It’s a Bit Unsettling How Docile They’ve Become

”Thank you, master, for sparing my life. I vow to serve you eternally as your servant.” Taowu, finding a glimmer of hope in despair, dared not harbor any contrary thoughts, crawled on the ground, and said to Han Yan in a trembling voice.

If Mu Hanyan had wanted to destroy it earlier, she would have needed to chant the Beast God Contract, expending some effort. Now, by voluntarily signing the Master-Servant Contract, its life and death were within Han Yan’s decision, eradicating it wouldn’t even require her to move her lips.

”Rise.” Mu Hanyan gestured with her hand and said.

Confirming that this creature posed no further threat to her, seeing its adorable appearance resembling a little kitten and its cautious fear, Mu Hanyan felt a bit of compassion.

”Thank you, master.” Taowu crawled backward a few steps before cautiously lifting its head.

”By the way, who exactly were you referring to earlier?” Mu Hanyan asked curiously.

She had been curious about this for some time. From Taowu’s words, it seemed that this person should be her ancestor. Many years ago, this person destroyed Taowu’s original form, erased its divine sense, leaving only three drops of essence blood and a trace of residual thought, which made it desperately seek revenge against Han Yan in fury.

However, Mu Hanyan had once looked through the Sect Family’s records and knew a bit about the ancestors of the Mu Family who were famous throughout the continent, but there was no record regarding this incident.

”You don’t even know?” Taowu looked at Han Yan in surprise, quickly realizing it was in no position to ask questions, fearing to anger Han Yan, it quickly said, ”I don’t know who she is; I only know her as Xingtian Girl. Her strength is incredibly powerful, far surpassing the strongest beings of this plane. In her presence, I was as insignificant as an ant, subject to her will.”

Speaking of this, one of the legendary Four Great Fierce Beasts appeared tearful, with a look of desolation.

”Xingtian Girl, isn’t she from Mu Family, called Mu something?” Mu Hanyan was even more puzzled, as no such name existed among the ancestors of the Mu Family.

”What Mu Family? She’s just called Xingtian Girl, and has nothing to do with the Mu Family.” Taowu seemed even more bewildered than Han Yan.

Taowu stared at Mu Hanyan, pondering something, suddenly exclaimed: ”No, no, you aren’t her successor. Although you have her aura, the bloodline is entirely different, you aren’t her successor!”

”Right, the Divine Beast Contract, could it be because of this?” Taowu murmured to himself after contemplating for a moment.

”What are you talking about, what’s the matter?” Mu Hanyan was already confused, hearing Taowu’s mindless muttering made it even more baffling, impatiently asked.

”Calm down, master, calm down,” Taowu realized it had inadvertently left Han Yan out of its musings, quickly said.

”I’m not angry, take your time and tell me what’s going on?” Han Yan said. Internally marveling at how this creature, once so arrogant, now seemed more obedient than a kitten, making it feel a bit uncomfortable.

”Things date back to a million years ago. At that time, the Aolai Divine Beasts had already left this continent, and the continent wasn’t fractured and separated. It was still called the Holy Continent.

Back then, the continent was teeming with strong individuals, humans and our Divine Beast tribe were vying for world dominance. Both sides appeared evenly matched, but overall, our Divine Clan tribe had a slight edge. If nothing unforeseen happened, within a thousand years, we would have unified the world.

But at that time, a powerful figure named Xingtian Girl descended from the Nine Heavens. Several of our Divine Beast tribe’s strong members were defeated by her overnight.

I was also destroyed by her, my divine sense was wiped out, leaving only three drops of essence blood and a trace of residual thought, sealed in the Beast Soul Hall. I could never understand why she didn’t completely annihilate my soul; it wouldn’t have taken any effort at all, yet she left me a sliver of life.

Only upon meeting you today did I suddenly think that perhaps, leaving me that sliver of life was to awaken the memories of the Aolai Divine Beast? After all, the divine beast’s bloodline is unique, certain inherited memories can only be awakened by a divine beast, like your earlier Divine Beast Contract.” Taowu sorted through its thoughts, guessing.

”What!” Mu Hanyan looked shocked.

Only then did she realize that the eventual dominance of humans in the world had such causes. Had it not been for Xingtian Girl’s appearance, the current continent would likely have been ruled by the Divine Beast tribe, with humans perhaps already extinct or living like Exotic Beasts, barely surviving deep within the Longyan Mountain range.

According to Taowu, this Xingtian Girl was not a human cultivator from the Holy Continent but likely an extraordinarily strong individual from another plane.

Even more surprising was that Xingtian Girl left Taowu a sliver of life, to help awaken the memories of the Aolai Divine Beast. Could she have predicted matters millions of years in advance?

Though Mu Hanyan had experienced the wonders of the Star Divination Technique, she still found it difficult to believe.

”If my guess is correct, leaving me a sliver of life was to awaken the memories of the Aolai Divine Beast, but even that might not necessarily be because of you.” Seeing Mu Hanyan’s shock, Taowu added, ”Such a powerful beast king as Aolai Divine Beast, even if its body is destroyed and its soul is erased, its memories wouldn’t completely disappear but scatter and dissolve into the world. Anyone with destiny might inherit its memories.”

Mu Hanyan finally understood, Xingtian Girl left Taowu merely to awaken the memories of the Aolai Divine Beast, not necessarily for her specifically, nor was it necessarily a prediction of matters millions of years later, something she could accept.

”What’s the appearance of the Xingtian Girl you mentioned?” Mu Hanyan asked curiously.

Mu Hanyan thought Taowu would describe her meticulously, instead, it merely sharpened its gaze, waved a beast paw, and a phantom figure appeared before Han Yan’s eyes.

”It’s her!” Mu Hanyan exclaimed once more.

Golden battle armor, a cold and beautiful face, a heroic and confident figure, seemingly standing above the heavens and earth, with all creation submitting beneath her.

The Xingtian Girl described by Taowu was the same woman Mu Hanyan had seen in the Star Map, identical to the person she saw during the final test of the Heart Enlightenment Sword!

”Do you know her, master?” Taowu asked cautiously.

This Xingtian Girl, the memories she left were too traumatic for Taowu. Just surfacing the impression from its mind invoked an instinctive fear.

(Picking nose, I’m guessing you all thought Han Yan was the reincarnation of this woman, then congratulations, you’re all wrong, a comforting kiss for you all.)
