Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

Dorothy Ellsworth’s little face flushed as she stared with wide eyes. ”Papa, you won’t kill Dorothy and Mommy again, will you?”

Lillian Bancroft raised his hand and caressed her small face. ”I won’t. Never again. I’d sooner die.”

”Then I still like you. I trust you.”

To Ethan Ellsworth’s and Chloe Marshall’s surprise, Lillian Bancroft had only come for a quick visit. He left soon after, not even staying for the afternoon.

Back home, Ethan Ellsworth ran a bath for Chloe Marshall. Utterly exhausted, she took a long soak before lying down on the bed and sleeping the afternoon away.

It was already dark by the time she woke up.

She was starving.

”You’re awake? Come on down for dinner.” Ethan Ellsworth lifted her out of bed and helped her into her slippers. ”From now on, unless it’s a special occasion, I don’t want you wearing high heels. They might be pretty, but they’re not good for your feet.”

She nodded.

He took her hand and led her downstairs.

The dining table was covered with steaming dishes that looked as if they had just been made.

Chloe Marshall leaned in and took a sniff. ”Boss Ellsworth, did you make this? Your skills in the kitchen have seriously improved! It looks so appetizing.”

”You’ve barely eaten all day. Anything would look good to you right now.”

Like a couple in the first flush of love, they made dinner last a full hour.

”Where’s Dorothy?”

”She ate before you. Said she was going upstairs to video chat with her God-daddy.” Ethan Ellsworth gathered the plates and chopsticks.

He came back out and sat beside her, lowering his voice. ”Wifey, tonight is our most meaningful night... our wedding night.”

Chloe Marshall poked him on the head with her index finger. ”With you, when has any night *not* been a wedding night?”

Ethan Ellsworth nibbled her ear. ”I can’t help it. You just have that effect on me.”

Chloe Marshall let out a soft hum. ”You were a little too rough last night. My lower back is still aching. Boss Ellsworth, how about you give me a massage first?”

”Alright.” His hands began to massage her lower back, growing hotter and hotter as he worked.

After a few minutes, Chloe Marshall sat up. ”Upstairs!”

”After you, Madam Ellsworth!” he said, standing up with a grin.

They had just reached the second floor and were about to enter their bedroom when they stopped in their tracks. Dorothy’s cheerful laughter drifted out from her room. ”Papa, guess what? The boy who sits next to me at kindergarten, Little Tiger, got a spanking from his mommy yesterday. His butt is all swollen!”

The couple tiptoed closer and quietly pushed Dorothy’s bedroom door open a crack.

Lillian Bancroft’s voice came through the video call. ”And why did he get such a spanking? Tell Papa.”

Dorothy giggled so hard she had to cover her mouth. ”Little Tiger told me that his uncle asked him if he wanted to get a wife when he grew up. So he asked his uncle if *he* had a wife, and his uncle said, ’Of course I do! How else would you have a little cousin?’ Then, Little Tiger said to his uncle, ’By a pig’s standards, I guess you’re barely handsome, Uncle. What kind of idiot would marry you? Was she just after your money?’ And because he said that, his mommy dragged him away and gave him a big spanking.”

Lillian Bancroft laughed too. ”What a little rascal.”

Seeing how happily their daughter was chatting away, the two of them stopped eavesdropping and went back to their own bedroom.

”This is our new home, our new bedroom. See? The whole room is decorated in festive red. Chloe, let’s just pretend tonight is our very first time together. Darling, give yourself to me~”

Chloe hugged him. ”Be honest. Were you jealous when I hugged Silly today?”

Ethan Ellsworth gave a soft laugh. ”Jealous? Why would I be jealous? I just wanted to chop off both of his arms.”

Chloe scoffed. ”I could tell. You were just pretending to be unfazed.”

He pushed her down onto the bed. ”Wifey, I’m going to take a shower. Get naked and wait for me.”

Chloe nodded. As she watched him walk into the bathroom, an idea popped into her head. She quickly opened the closet and climbed inside.

She couldn’t help but snicker to herself. ’Will Boss Ellsworth go downstairs to look for me?’

’Will he freak out?’

After waiting quietly for a moment, she heard his voice from outside the closet. ”Chloe?”

Chloe held her breath and stayed silent. But the very next second, the closet door was pulled open.

”How did you find me so fast? You have eagle eyes.”

Ethan Ellsworth nudged the slippers on the floor in front of the closet with his foot. ”If you’re going to hide, you need to hide your shoes first.”

Chloe’s face broke into a grin. ”I forgot.”

”Well, my lovely consort, aren’t you going to prepare for my royal visit?” He shot her a flirtatious wink.

Chloe quickly climbed out, stripped off her clothes, and got into bed. She propped herself up, looked at him, and purred, ”Come and get me~”

Just as Ethan Ellsworth was about to take off his clothes, there was a THUMP against the bedroom door. Dorothy Ellsworth’s voice called out from the other side, ”Mommy, it’s me! Open up!”

Ethan Ellsworth had no choice but to open the door. He looked down at his daughter standing before him. ”Dorothy, Mommy and Daddy are about to go to sleep. What’s the matter?”

Dorothy Ellsworth walked in, clutching her pillow. ”Daddy, I want to sleep with Mommy.”

Ethan Ellsworth was baffled. ”You usually sleep by yourself, don’t you? Why do you insist on sleeping with Mommy tonight?”

Dorothy Ellsworth scrambled up onto the bed and lay down beside Chloe Marshall. ”Because God-daddy said something very dangerous is going to happen tonight. He said I have to protect Mommy, and I can’t leave her side all night, not even for a step.”

Ethan Ellsworth’s lip twitched. ’What kind of ridiculous logic is that?’

”Your God-daddy was lying to you.”

Dorothy Ellsworth wrapped her arms around Chloe Marshall’s waist, completely ignoring Ethan Ellsworth. ”Mommy, I’ll protect you.”

Ethan Ellsworth closed the door, his passion instantly extinguished as if doused by a bucket of ice water.

And so, Dorothy slept in the middle, with Ethan Ellsworth and Chloe Marshall on either side.

Unwilling to let his wedding night be ruined just like that, Ethan Ellsworth repeatedly tried to reach for his wife, but his wandering hands were forcefully blocked by Dorothy Ellsworth every time.

”Oh, Daddy, is your hand having a spasm? Why does it keep reaching over to our side? If only you were a robot, then I could just detach your arm.”

Ethan Ellsworth: ”...”

He couldn’t accept being so utterly defeated by his own daughter.

And so, he lay there wide awake until three in the morning.

He switched on the light and smiled in satisfaction. ”She’s finally asleep, right?”

Chloe’s eyes fluttered open. She looked at him sleepily. ”You’re still awake.”

”How could I possibly sleep when we haven’t finished our important business?” He stealthily climbed over Dorothy to Chloe’s other side, lay down, and pulled her tightly into his embrace.

This time, things went smoothly. He had successfully completed the great undertaking of their wedding night. According to his logic, even if they did it every other night, they absolutely had to do it on the most important night of all.

Thus, when he finally sowed his seeds of love, Ethan Ellsworth heaved a sigh of relief. He had just finished cleaning up and was about to lie down and sleep when Dorothy, who had been sound asleep, suddenly shot bolt upright. With her eyes still closed, she swung her little fist right into Ethan Ellsworth’s eye, shouting, ”Bitches are so pretentious!”
