Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

Called out so directly, Mrs. Marshall was naturally displeased. ”You’d better explain yourself. Who’s keeping a pretty boy?! Did you see it with your own two eyes or something?”

Jean Grant couldn’t be bothered to argue with her. ”If you won’t admit it, then fine. I’m sure the day will come when you have to.”

Just as Mrs. Marshall was about to say more, Marlon Marshall came downstairs, and she immediately burst into loud, theatrical sobs.

Marlon was startled to see her crying and hurried over. ”Mom, what’s wrong? Why are you crying all of a sudden?”

Mrs. Marshall pointed at Jean Grant. ”I asked her for a little money, and she refused to give me any.”

Hearing this, Marlon asked, ”How much do you need? I’ll give it to you.”

”One million.”

Marlon’s hand, which was reaching for his wallet, froze. ”Mom, one million? What do you need so much money for? Even after buying a car with all that money you got a while ago, there should have been plenty left. Did you spend it all already?”

Mrs. Marshall nodded. ”I lost a lot playing mahjong recently, bought some clothes, got some facials... it all costs money. I just kept spending, and then it was all gone.”

Marlon pulled out a wad of cash. ”This is eight thousand in cash. Try to make it last.”

Mrs. Marshall took the money reluctantly. ”Son, this won’t even last me a few days.”

”Mom, eight thousand used to cover our food for three months. How can it not last a few days? Look, if you just played a little less mahjong, got fewer beauty treatments, and bought fewer clothes, you’d be fine, right?”

Hearing this, Mrs. Marshall immediately shot back, ”Do you have any idea how hard it was for me to raise you? You and your wife are rich now. If you don’t let your mother spend your money, who else should?”

Marlon pulled another card from his wallet. ”Mom, there’s half a million on here. Take it. Will that be enough for two months?”

She tucked it away gleefully. ”It’s enough for half a month.”

Jean Grant scoffed inwardly again and again before turning and heading upstairs.

After breakfast, Marlon went upstairs too. ”Honey.”

He wrapped his arms around her. ”Our mom just took so much money from me. How about you give me some more?”

Jean Grant turned, pried his hands off her, and said, ”I gave you eight million of the ten million my brother gave me. I’ve also spent a lot these past few months, so now I only have two or three hundred thousand left. I’m out of money.”

Marlon immediately said, ”Then go ask your brother for more.”

Jean Grant put on a troubled expression. ”If my brother asks why the money’s gone so fast, what am I supposed to say? I’m too ashamed to ask. You squandered all that money, and now you want me to go ask my brother for more? I’m not going.”

Marlon grew anxious. ”Honey, our baby’s going to cost a lot of money when it’s born. Don’t we need to prepare?”

”I’ve decided. For the birth, I’ll go to the General Hospital, not the VIP wing. That way, a C-section will only be a few thousand, and a natural birth a few hundred. The money I have is more than enough.”

Marlon hadn’t expected Jean Grant to not only refuse but to also have such a well-thought-out reason.

”Just give me two hundred thousand of the two or three hundred thousand you have.”

Jean Grant’s eyes darkened. ”No. If I give it to you, what about our household expenses? This is money for the baby. I’ll ask my brother for more after the baby is born.”

There was no way Marlon could wait a few months. He immediately said, ”Honey, go ask your brother for money. I’ll do whatever you ask.”

Jean Grant gave him a skeptical sidelong glance. ”Really? You’ll do whatever I ask?”

”Of course it’s true.”

”Then if I tell you to go die, will you?”

Marlon suppressed his inner rage and continued with a lewd grin, ”If I die, wouldn’t you be left all alone? Besides, if I’m dead, how are you going to get your pleasure?”

He gestured with his finger toward the space between Jean Grant’s legs.

Jean Grant snapped coldly, ”You leave every morning anyway. It’s almost eight o’clock now, so hurry up and go.”

Marlon made it clear he wasn’t leaving until he got his money. ”Give me the money first, and then I’ll go.”

She turned away. ”This is all I have. No.”

’I absolutely cannot give him a single cent!’ she thought.

’Taking my money to go fool around with other women? In his dreams!’

Marlon’s drug cravings were starting to kick in. He had no choice but to go into the bathroom to take a few hits to calm his agitation. After he was done, he put away his paraphernalia and hid it in the bathroom.

He came out of the bathroom, extremely agitated, and continued, ”Jean, are you really not going to give me a single cent?”

”I’m not!” she said resolutely.

Marlon grabbed her from behind, yanked down her pants with one hand, pinned her hands with the other, and entered her body without any foreplay.

For one to two months after an induced abortion, one must abstain from sexual activity to prevent infection, as it can be harmful to a woman’s body.

But Jean Grant hadn’t told him she’d had an abortion, so his sudden, unexpected violation of her body caught her completely off guard.

”Marlon! Let me go!”

Jean Grant struggled, but he was high on drugs, making him stronger and his thrusts more violent. Soon, her resistance seemed futile.

In that moment, she thought, ’I absolutely cannot wait two more weeks!’

’I want a divorce!’

’The evidence of his affair is more than enough!’

”Honey, I’m not letting you go! If you don’t give me the money, I’ll keep doing this until you agree!”

With her hands pinned behind her, Jean Grant could only let him have his way with her.

Gradually, the moisture inside her body made her lose control of herself. Marlon let go of her hands, and Jean Grant forgot to resist.

From behind, the penetration was deeper, each thrust seeming to strike her cervix.

The act went on for over an hour. In the end, Marlon finished completely inside her, likely thinking it didn’t matter since he believed she was pregnant.

Little did he know, her pregnant belly was a sham.

Afterward, she sat on the edge of the bed, filled with regret as she pulled up her pants, cursing herself inwardly.

But it was done. She thought of Ethan Ellsworth and felt a pang of guilt. At that moment, however, she knew she had to tell Marlon she wanted a divorce. It seemed she couldn’t wait two weeks after all.

Marlon came out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. As he dried himself off, preparing to get dressed, he heard her words.

”Let’s get a divorce.”

Marlon thought he was hallucinating. He had to ask again, ”What did you say?”

Jean Grant spoke with perfect composure. ”I said, let’s get a divorce, Marlon. I don’t want to lie to myself anymore, and you should stop lying to yourself too. Your mother is keeping a young man on the side, and you’re keeping Carol Young. Did you really think I didn’t know?”

Marlon had always assumed she didn’t know. He never expected her to lay it all out so bluntly.

”My mom is keeping a young man? Can you stop talking nonsense? This is about us, don’t drag my mom into it.”

Jean Grant stood up. ”Fine, then let’s talk about us. Do you know why Carol Young showed up at the bathroom door last night? She caught you, didn’t she? That’s because I went to Carol Young’s apartment. The door was open. Marlon, I came to you with a clean slate, yet even someone like me couldn’t make you stay faithful. Tell me, why should I stay with you any longer?”
