Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

After they ordered, Leon Lynch sat down across from her.

”This feels so nice, having breakfast together.”

Nora Ainsworth chuckled. ”I think it’s nice, too.”

They smiled at each other. A reporter captured the moment, and it immediately made the news.

The headline read: ”Leon Lynch and Nora Ainsworth Share a Sweet Breakfast.”

The article included a photo of the heartwarming scene, making them look as comfortable as a long-married couple.

They were a stunning pair—he handsome, she beautiful.

After the news broke, the comments section was flooded with praise.

Countless people voiced their support for the two of them getting married.

But in the CEO’s office at the Grant Group...

...the sound of grinding teeth and cracking knuckles could be heard.

Quentin Grant shoved his work aside. His eyes were sharp as he stared at the computer screen, reading the comments wishing the couple a happy marriage. In a fit of rage, he quickly registered an account and wrote: ’No matter how you look at it, they’re a terrible match. What match? The guy is so ugly!’

However, his comment was brilliantly roasted by the other users.

JustOkay_RankedThird commented: ”Oh, I’m sure *you’re* so handsome! Why don’t you show us your face, huh? I bet you’re just green with envy! You should go take a piss and have a good look at your own reflection!”

AfricanPrettyBoy commented: ”Leon Lynch is so bright and handsome! Are you blind? Honey, don’t give up on your treatment, okay?”

PlentyOfFish_BreastIsBest commented: ”You’re just begging to be flamed with a comment like that. You’re so tough, does your mommy know?”

Quentin Grant stared at the replies, his anger boiling over as he shot to his feet. ”Fuck, what is this garbage!”

The office door was suddenly pushed open. His assistant, Charlotte Young, and a secretary stood at the entrance, having never heard President Grant so furious.

Quentin Grant took a deep breath. His voice was cold. ”It’s nothing. Get out!”

Charlotte Young and the secretary had no choice but to leave.

Quentin Grant sat back down. Staring at the replies on the screen, he refused to be outdone and immediately fired back.

He posted a new comment: ’So what if I think the guy looks like a total loser? What are you going to do about it? They’re a terrible match no matter how you look at it. Are you commenters the ones who are really blind?’

The moment he posted it, dozens more replies flooded in than before. Among them, the most-liked comments read as follows.

AThousandPoundsMovesFourOunces commented: ”Just how bitter are you? You probably have a crush on Nora Ainsworth, but is there any need for all the personal attacks on Leon Lynch? How pathetic can you be?”

PoorKidsBecomeMonks commented: ”Even as a guy, I can’t stand this. Bro, you’re just here to stir up trouble and hate on Leon Lynch, aren’t you?”

BlessingInDisguise spoke up again: ”I suggest we doxx this guy. Let’s see what kind of freak he really is!”

That comment got the most replies and likes. Quentin Grant felt a prickle of unease. He glared at the screen, then slammed his laptop shut. Leaning back in his chair, he seethed, unable to calm his anger.

The feeling was like being eaten alive by insects—a gnawing frustration that he could do nothing about.

The feeling plagued him for the rest of the day. It wasn’t until Charlotte Young came in that he was shaken from it. ”President Grant, the meeting starts in three minutes.”

He stood up. ”I know.”

Charlotte Young looked like she wanted to say something, but seeing the dark expression on his face, she kept quiet.

「Two months passed in a flash.」

During that time, Nora Ainsworth remained on set. Leon Lynch was practically her shadow. Except for at night, he spent his days at the studio watching her film and would practically drag her to the restaurant for meals.

The two of them were a constant topic in the news.

Nora Ainsworth hadn’t seen Quentin Grant in a long time, either. They hadn’t met face-to-face, and it was as if the love between them had truly faded.

Filming for the television series continued in an orderly fashion.

The November weather was bleak and carried a chill.

Today, they were scheduled to film a scene of someone jumping from a bridge into the river.

Even though it hadn’t snowed yet this winter, the weather was already cold enough to make one shiver.

It was a dry cold that seeped through even the thickest layers of clothing.

What’s more, Nora Ainsworth was dressed very lightly for the scene.

She was wearing black tights, denim shorts, and a thin jacket.

Ethan Ellsworth was also dressed lightly in a tracksuit. The two of them stood on the bridge, their legs trembling in the wind, but they had to get into character to capture the best shot.

Leon Lynch stood by, holding a heavy coat, his eyes narrowed. Seeing Nora Ainsworth shivering, he couldn’t stop himself from stepping forward. ”Nora, just use a stunt double. You’ll freeze to death jumping in like this.”

Nora Ainsworth pointed to the safety wire attached to her harness. ”It’s fine. It’s just a quick dip, like a dragonfly touching the water.”

Seeing her insistence, Leon Lynch could only relent. ”All right. But come right back and put this coat on as soon as the shot is done.”

She nodded at him.

A stylist stepped forward and tucked her hair back to keep the wind from blowing it into her face.

The director yelled, ”Action!”

The camera focused on Nora Ainsworth and Ethan Ellsworth.

They recited their lines. At the crucial moment, Nora Ainsworth quickly climbed onto the bridge railing. Looking at Ethan Ellsworth, she said, ”You think I don’t have the guts?”

Ethan Ellsworth sneered. ”If you’ve got the guts, then jump. Go on, jump for me.”

Nora Ainsworth looked at him as tears streamed down her face. She turned and leaped from the bridge.

A look of shock appeared in Ethan Ellsworth’s eyes. He immediately grabbed the railing and stared down at Nora Ainsworth as she fell.

It was supposed to be a light touch, but Nora Ainsworth was submerged up to her waist in the river. The icy water made her tremble uncontrollably.

Just then, the director yelled, ”Cut! Let’s do it again!”

Nora Ainsworth was slowly pulled up. They wouldn’t reshoot the dialogue, just the jump itself.

A worried expression crossed Leon Lynch’s face. Seeing her standing there resolutely, he said nothing.

Nora Ainsworth jumped again, but was forced to do another take because her form wasn’t graceful enough and the arc of her fall wasn’t right.

And again, for a fourth time.

Leon Lynch wordlessly strode over and draped the heavy coat over Nora Ainsworth. Seeing how badly she was freezing, he confronted the director on the spot. ”If you ask me, the second take was good enough. Director, are you doing this on purpose?”

Cecelia Willow remained unfazed. ”We’re filming a television series, not just shooting a home video.”

Nora Ainsworth took a few sips of hot tea and removed the coat. ”It’s okay. I’ll do another take.”

Cecelia Willow waved her hand. ”Everyone, positions! Action!”

Ethan Ellsworth stood to one side, his expression slightly complicated.

He knew who was behind this. Normally, while Cecelia Willow wasn’t exactly close to Nora Ainsworth, she had never deliberately made things difficult for her. Today, she was clearly trying to make Nora suffer.

After the sixth jump from the bridge, just as Cecelia Willow was about to call for another take, Ethan Ellsworth spoke up. ”I think that one was fine.”

Cecelia Willow said awkwardly, ”Fine. I suppose that take was decent enough.”

Nora Ainsworth could barely stand. With lightning speed, Leon Lynch wrapped her in the coat, scooped her up, and carried her to her van.
