Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar

Chapter 136: Chapter 134: Did You Go Lay an Egg? (5)

Chloe Marshall flared up. ”Boss Ellsworth, look closely! I’m Chloe Marshall, not Jean Grant!”

He blinked a couple of times. ”You are Jean.”

”Let’s go back. You’re drunk, so drunk you don’t even recognize people anymore.” She had just started to get up when Ethan Ellsworth yanked her back down.

Before she could even react, he kissed her.

In a flash, Chloe Marshall was completely stunned.

His eyes were closed, and his hand held the back of her neck, not allowing her to move.

Chloe Marshall’s eyes flew open as she stared at the face so close to hers: his brows, his eyes, his nose, his hair, and his flawless, poreless skin.

She couldn’t breathe, holding her breath for so long her heart pounded violently in her chest.

Just when she felt like she would suffocate if she didn’t take a breath, she pushed him away and gasped for air.

She was still panting, not having said a word, when he pushed her down again, sending her sprawling onto the sofa.

Ethan Ellsworth seemed addicted to kissing her. The scent of him was overwhelming, and Chloe Marshall’s mind went blank. She had also had a lot to drink, so her rational thinking was considerably impaired.

Once an impulse flared, it was hard to suppress.

It wasn’t until his hands started to wander that Chloe Marshall’s body went completely stiff. As a girl from a rural family, she had a traditional view of chastity. She immediately shoved him away with all her might. Ethan Ellsworth, already disoriented from the alcohol, was sent stumbling, and his head hit the table.

The shock sobered Chloe Marshall up considerably. She cradled his head to check for injuries, and only after seeing he was fine did she slowly move him onto the sofa and drape her overcoat on him.

She sat on the other sofa, seemingly still lost in the heat of his kiss. Her hand unconsciously drifted to her lips, where his touch seemed to linger. The tingling, electric sensation guaranteed she was in for a sleepless night.

「At the crack of dawn.」

Leon Lynch woke up to find a completely naked woman lying beside him. He took one look at himself and his face turned ashen with rage.

He immediately threw on his clothes. The moment he opened the door, a swarm of reporters who had been lying in wait stormed in.

They caught him completely off guard.

With the unstoppable frenzy of flashing cameras, Leon Lynch instantly understood. This was a repeat of the incident with Sharon Ainsworth.

Except this time, the leading lady was different.

”Young Master Lynch, is Miss Sutton your new flame?”

”Young Master Lynch, have you moved on so quickly?”

”Young Master Lynch, are you going to marry Miss Sutton?”

”Young Master Lynch—”

Leon Lynch felt as if a thousand bees were buzzing in his ears. Irritated beyond measure, he stormed off without a word.

A few reporters chased after him, while the rest turned their cameras on Maeve Sutton in the bed. She was covered by a blanket, revealing her smooth collarbones and shoulders, and at the other end, her two delicate feet.

Before the reporters could even speak, Maeve Sutton said with a sweet expression, ”Leon and I are getting married soon. Please wish us well.”

Sunlight streamed in through the window. She turned her head and smiled, in an exceptionally good mood, as if her marriage to Leon Lynch was already a sure thing.

Meanwhile, in the elevator, Leon Lynch’s face was as dark as a thundercloud. He watched the numbers descend, any desire to continue his vacation completely gone. The trip was supposed to be a distraction, but now it had only added to his frustrations.

’All it takes is a moment’s thought to realize it. Without an inside man, how could she have found this place so easily?’

’And gotten into my room so effortlessly?’

Leon Lynch rubbed his throbbing temples as the sound of the elevator doors opening chimed in his ears.

He strode out, and the attendant who was always with him came running over. ”Young Master!”

”You’ve got some nerve. Following me around and still daring to send a woman to my bed. I see you don’t value your life very much!” He slapped the attendant across the head.

The attendant stammered, ”It was your mother who ordered me to do this.”

Leon Lynch shot him a cold glare. ”Pack your bags immediately. We’re going back!”

”But we’ve only been here a few days, Young Master. There are still so many places you haven’t been.”

”We’re not going. Don’t make me say it again. Now! Immediately! Go pack!” He turned and walked away. The attendant had no choice but to say, ”Then please wait for me at the entrance, Young Master. I’ll go pack right now.”

Leon Lynch stood at the hotel entrance, looking at the dazzling light. He raised a hand to shield his eyes. The ring on his finger was conspicuous. Looking at it, he thought of the other one, and his eyes couldn’t help but sting with sorrow.

The scene of their engagement flashed in his mind. He had held her hand and sneered devilishly, ”Nora Ainsworth, you are my woman in life and my ghost in death. Any man who dares to touch you had better not forget you’re branded with the Lynch name.” Back then, he had been hopelessly in love with her, while she had simply stood at an uncrossable distance, looking at him from across a vast sea.

When she was alive, the distance between them was the distance between two hearts. Now, he and she were separated by the distance between two worlds.

It was a distance he could not cross.

When Ethan Ellsworth sat up, his head was pounding. He blearily scanned his surroundings.

The familiar old spot. His gaze landed on the sofa opposite him and froze.

Chloe Marshall was lying on the sofa, shivering from the cold.

And her overcoat was draped over him.

A warmth spread through Ethan Ellsworth’s chest. He stood up, picked up the coat, walked over, and draped it over her, whispering, ’Idiot!’

Chloe Marshall shot up, her head bumping right into his. Ethan Ellsworth recoiled, rubbing his aching head. ”Why did you sit up so suddenly?”

”Boss Ellsworth, weren’t you the one who called me?” Chloe Marshall put on the overcoat, finally feeling a bit warmer.

Ethan Ellsworth had no choice but to say, ”Yeah. You were sleeping like a log, so of course I had to wake you.”

Chloe Marshall was suddenly reminded of last night. Seeing that he didn’t seem to remember anything, she felt a lot less awkward. ”Boss Ellsworth, let’s get out of here. If reporters find out we were here all night, it’ll make the news.”

Ethan Ellsworth nodded. The two left the private room together, but their luck was terrible. They ran into paparazzi who had been lying in wait. Some of the paparazzi knew he liked to frequent Temptation, so they were specifically on standby to get a photo of him for a story.

And now, Ethan Ellsworth, emerging in the morning from a private room he had entered the previous night with his female assistant, was immediately photographed. Seeing them taking pictures, Ethan walked on with a nonchalant expression, but Chloe Marshall followed behind him, worried.

”Boss Ellsworth, this is going to be in the news now.”

Ethan Ellsworth was unconcerned. ”So what if it is?”

”But... wouldn’t it be bad if Miss Grant saw it?” She knew saying this was like poking at an old wound, but it was the most obvious problem.

Ethan Ellsworth’s hand paused, then he shot her a glare. ”Shut up!”

Chloe Marshall fell silent, not daring to ask any more questions.

The car pulled up directly in front of Quentin Grant’s villa. Ethan Ellsworth honked the horn, and the gate opened immediately, allowing the car to enter.

Quentin Grant and Nora Ainsworth were having breakfast. Seeing them come in, Nora Ainsworth asked, ”Have you eaten? If not, I can have someone make two more servings for you.”
