The Yellow-Haired Villain in Soaring Phoenix's Novels Also Desires Happiness

“Hahaha! Evil dragon, I’m not afraid of you anymore!”

The flower of flesh bloomed brilliantly.

The coffee shop owner laughed while smashing what could barely still be called his head against the restriction. Red-and-white matter splattered everywhere, even smearing across that golden layer.

Disgusting.

However, this was only the beginning.

“Dong!”

“Bang!”

“Bang, bang!”

One sound after another echoed throughout this city that should originally have been very quiet, like an unrehearsed symphony suddenly beginning.

The world became very lively.

Muen followed those sounds with his gaze and discovered one twisted figure after another appearing on the other side of the golden restrictions.

They were excited, fanatical, and courageous.

The fear of being dominated by the evil dragon had already completely disappeared—together with the part of them that could still be called “human.”

Their deformed flesh made their forms strange in every possible way. That prayer... that prayer directed toward the Goddess of Light seemed not merely to have granted them Pollution, but also to have directly and completely stimulated that Pollution, leaving not the slightest room for a buffer.

They laughed and roared, using their mutated bodies to strike the restrictions. Gradually, fine cracks began to appear across the golden restrictions beneath their impacts...

These suddenly appearing sounds were precisely caused by this.

“Damn it...”

Muen realized that these restrictions could not completely stop the residents who had already mutated. Sooner or later, they would break through them using this self-destructive method.

Under normal circumstances, the restrictions Miss Dragon had placed would absolutely not be this fragile. She herself had also said that ordinary people could not possibly break through the restrictions.

But...

That only applied to “ordinary people.”

Pollution had already mutated these people into complete monsters, while the Pollution itself had also grown stronger under the nourishment of their flesh and souls. Their level of difficulty could no longer be compared to before.

Of course, even like this, it would still be very difficult to break through Miss Dragon’s restrictions. Sealing off this city was not something difficult for Miss Dragon.

But she had not merely sealed the city in a broad sense. Instead, she had extravagantly used individual houses as units, sealing them one building at a time with countless restrictions.

Her power had been continuously divided. Therefore, each individual restriction...

Was actually not so solid that it could not be destroyed.

Protecting was far more difficult than destroying.

Moreover, just as Clarence had said, this city had already been riddled with holes.

No one could protect a fortress that had already been breached.

“Don’t tell me you’ve become delusional again and think you can rely on these Polluted people to defeat Miss Dragon.”

Muen suddenly turned his head and looked at Clarence.

“What use does this have? After playing around so much, you are still only relying on Pollution to disgust people. How is this any different from what Priscilla did?”

“Of course...

“There is no difference.”

Clarence grinned with a strange smile.

“Why should there be a difference? Her method was correct.”

“So for the sake of this so-called correct method, trying to kill some people who had absolutely nothing to do with you was not enough, and now you even want to kill your own people?”

Muen could not conceal the anger in his words.

“You built this place, didn’t you? You guided the people here into obtaining beautiful lives, didn’t you? They even call you Lord Hero! Yet for the sake of your bullshit plan, you casually sacrifice them?”

Disgusting.

From Annabawei to this New Tars, many, many things once again surfaced in Muen’s mind, making him sincerely feel disgusted.

The mutated monsters on the other side of the restrictions were also disgusting, but compared to Clarence, who still looked human at this moment, they were not worth mentioning!

Even the Salvation Society, which had previously wanted to sacrifice an entire city, appeared much more glorious and righteous compared to these beasts!

That old bastard Gaius could practically be called a moral role model in front of these Tars survivors!

“Do none of you have even the slightest...”

“Is it my fault?”

Clarence suddenly roared, interrupting Muen.

He finally stopped smiling. His blood-covered old face became twisted, like a wild dog whose tail had been stepped on.

“Is their death my fault? Is it our fault? Is it the fault of us rats who can do nothing but flee?”

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

Muen found him completely unreasonable.

“If it isn’t your fault, then could it be mine and Miss Dragon’s...”

“You are absolutely right! It is her fault! It is this evil dragon’s fault!”

Clarence stared hatefully at Hamreign. The wrinkles across his aged face opened and closed, revealing endless resentment. Bloody tears flowed from the corners of his eyes. Deep within those pupils were fiercely burning flames...

And within those flames, the silhouette of a city reduced to ruins.

“Sister Dragon...

“This is your fault.”

“...”

Hamreign stared at him without speaking.

Ever since the people inside the restrictions began displaying mutations, she had become extremely quiet.

It seemed that she did not care about what was happening around her.

Even the anger from before could no longer be sensed by Muen, who stood beside her.

She merely stared quietly at Clarence, inflicting pain upon him while listening to his deranged words. Her face, covered by mist, still revealed nothing.

“Sister Dragon...

“If you had not come, none of this would have happened, would it?”

Clarence forced words out through his shattered throat.

“I did not directly make the people here worship the Goddess of Light, nor did I directly Pollute them...

“I could have done all of those things in advance. No one could have stopped me, because this city was built by me in the first place.”

“But I did not do that. I merely allowed them to live happily here. Although the beauty of this place was indeed created by borrowing a little of the Goddess’s power, this blessing was pure. They did not need to pay any price. They could have continued living beautifully like this forever.”

A gentle breeze passed, and the flowers beside the road swayed.

Even at this moment, when the atmosphere was so strange, the beauty of this city could not be concealed.

It had been born according to that “carefree place,” and in some ways, it had already surpassed that eight-hundred-year-old city.

It was the true New Tars.

“Until you came.”

Resentment once again surged in Clarence’s eyes, and his voice gradually became more impassioned.

“Sister Dragon...

“You came. It was the fear you brought that forced them, making them become like this, making them have no choice but to be Polluted!

“Think about it. If you had not come, none of this would have happened!

“So everything happening now is your...”

“Shut up!”

Muen finally could not listen any longer. He directly punched Clarence and shouted angrily:

“Stop switching concepts here! This is obviously a trap you deliberately set! Do you really think this beauty could have continued forever? Was an Evil God doing charity for you?”

“Cough, cough...

“Yes, this truly is a trap. I admit it. There is nothing difficult about admitting it.”

Clarence’s face was twisted by Muen’s punch. He tilted his head and did not even glance at Muen. He continued staring at Hamreign and smiled in that distorted manner.

“This truly was a trap tailor-made for you, Sister Dragon. But why did you willingly step into it?

“You should know what kind of trait you possess!”

“...What trait?”

Hamreign finally spoke.

“Ha, are you still pretending to be foolish? After so many years, do you truly know nothing?”

Clarence laughed loudly.

“It is calamity!

“Sister Dragon...

“Hamreign!

“Your trait is calamity!”

“All these years, you have traveled everywhere, cleaning up Pollution wherever you went. You thought you were saving the world?

“No...

“You cannot save anyone. You only bring fear and disaster!”

“Yes, I indirectly caused the deaths of the people in this city. But until now, how many people have you killed?

“Ten times as many as me?

“A hundred times?

“A thousand times?

“And every one of those people was killed directly by you!”

“You have no right to claim that you are doing anything to save others. You yourself are the source of countless calamities!”

“Otherwise...

“Why does everyone in this world call you a calamity and call you the Dragon of Death and...”

Crack.

That fair, jade-like palm tightened once again.

Scarlet lightning blossomed in the void, while pitch-black mist devoured Clarence’s flesh.

First, one of his arms directly exploded.

Then his leg.

Later, even his torso continuously produced shattering sounds. Beneath this supreme power, Clarence, an ancient being who had survived for several hundred years, did not even possess the slightest ability to resist.

The city trembled faintly, as though responding to Hamreign’s suppressed anger.

Rumbling continuously filled the void. The remnants of Clarence’s power were rapidly annihilated. The surrounding magic stones suddenly shattered, and darkness spread outward with that crimson figure as its center.

Even so, he used all his strength to widen his blood-filled eyes and spit out the rest of his words.

“Stop deceiving yourself, Hamreign! No one in this world likes you!

“No one likes you, the Dragon of Death and Doom who only brings death and calamity!”

“Your existence itself is a mistake! Everything you do is futile! You only cause disasters to continue occurring!”

“Look around you! Look at everything familiar around you—Heavenly Universe Literature, turn the next page and it will be another world.

“Do you recognize it? This Tars?

“You are merely repeating the same mistakes again and again!”

“You are the one who should never have remained alive in this world...”

Bang.

The roaring abruptly stopped.

Clarence’s final remains could no longer withstand Hamreign’s crushing force and directly exploded. Countless pieces of flesh splattered in every direction.

Muen reacted quickly. Black flames rapidly spread outward, devouring all the flesh together with the soul that had already been crushed.

Clarence died.

So suddenly.

And so directly.

But Muen did not feel relieved at all. He did not even have time to examine the images within Clarence’s soul before hurriedly turning his head and looking at Hamreign.

“Miss Dragon...”

The echoes of Clarence’s words still reverberated throughout the city.

Those curses.

That resentment.

Those accusations.

While Clarence was alive, Muen could have refuted them one by one, because he knew that everything Clarence said was nothing more than ridiculous twisted logic.

But Clarence was already dead.

Now, Muen instead did not know what to say.

He wanted to comfort Hamreign, but the one before him was not a pitiful young woman who had just been bullied.

She was a calamity.

She was the Dragon of Death and Doom.

She was the strongest living creature beneath the sky.

Did she truly need comfort?

That mist still existed, concealing her face. Her emotions had also been restrained, and Muen could no longer understand her.

“What should we do next?”

After thinking for a long time, Muen could only bring the subject back to reality.

The situation in reality was extremely precarious and did not allow the slightest carelessness.

Clarence’s “voice” had already spread throughout the entire city. Everyone had heard those words, and anyone who remembered that so-called “method of salvation” and prayed to the Goddess of Light would be Polluted.

This was the same kind of Pollution as that of the little girl before, a form of Pollution that could not even be suppressed.

“It is not yet time to give up.”

Hamreign turned around, her tone incomparably calm.

“I will resolve it.”

Under Muen’s slightly confused gaze, Hamreign walked toward the restriction.

“Evil dragon! Wait for me to defeat you!”

The shop owner was still shouting excitedly. There were so many eyes upon his petals, yet he seemed not to have seen what had just happened at all.

Hamreign extended one finger.

Bang.

The shop owner exploded into a cloud of blood.
