The Yellow-Haired Villain in Soaring Phoenix's Novels Also Desires Happiness

Muen did not intend to flee.

Because he realized that fleeing was almost impossible.

As mentioned before, the Goddess of Night seemed to possess the ability to teleport evil believers freely through the darkness. Therefore, even if you ran far away, she only needed to teleport them a little, and she could still send a large number of enemies right in front of you.

Running away blindly would only waste stamina.

As for letting Theresa and Landa run first, it was because those two clearly could not deal with this kind of situation. If they stayed here, they would only drag him down.

Dozens of enemies in total. Even Muen... could currently only protect one more person at most.

“Waaaah...”

But a certain lucky one being protected clearly did not know what was good for her. Even in this kind of crisis, she was still screaming.

“Bastard, before we came here, you told me to tie my belt tighter. So this is what you meant?”

“Shut up.”

Muen’s face was stern. “If I don’t grab your belt, am I supposed to hold you by the feet and swing you around like a sword?”

“Aren’t you basically swinging me around like a sword right now?”

Marcie’s eyes were full of tears, and she was filled with grief and anger.

At this moment, Muen was grabbing her belt and weaving through the crowd of evil believers.

The situation was critical, enemies were everywhere, and she was the one being protected, so under normal circumstances, it would not have been good for her to say anything.

But the key was that Muen was not completely protecting her at all. While holding her by the belt, he was also swinging her back and forth toward those evil believers. He was completely treating her as a weapon too!

Damn it!

Being swung around like this, she was about to throw up yesterday’s dinner!

Bread was so precious. She did not want to throw up!

“Stop making a fuss. These guys aren’t convenient for me to touch, so I can only trouble you. Don’t worry. Attack boldly. I won’t let them hurt you.”

As he spoke, Muen’s figure flickered slightly.

His originally forward-moving steps suddenly changed direction, shifting his entire body backward by a few centimeters.

A rotten, stinking hand swept past right in front of him. Muen held his blade in his right hand and slashed diagonally to the side.

The blade light was like the moon. Knowing how terrifying that kind of pollution was, Muen naturally could not let them approach easily. Before that evil believer could fully rush over, Muen had already cut him in half.

But on the other side, the other evil believers smiled hideously, their heads suddenly splitting open toward both sides, revealing terrifying bloody maws.

“Marcie.”

“I know!”

Marcie was so dizzy she could not tell north from south. Fortunately, she did not need to find north at all. Every movement Muen made seemed to have been calculated in advance. It was both within the range she could endure and able to deliver her precisely in front of the enemy.

So she did not need to do anything like raise her head at all. She only needed to grip her weapon—a hoe—and bring it down hard.

Smash!

Splat.

As though a meatball had split open, the evil believer charging over had his head smashed apart directly, and his body spasmed before collapsing limply to the ground. Pitch-black blood splashed everywhere, all of it either avoided by Muen or blocked with Marcie.

“Ah! It stinks!”

Marcie’s face looked like she was about to cry as she kept spitting out the blood foam that had accidentally entered her mouth. “Am I your shield and weapon? Can’t you dodge together with me?”

“I can, but you wouldn’t be able to endure that speed.”

Dodging the splattering blood while carrying another person would probably require using time dilation. He was fine now, but with Marcie’s fragile little body, Muen was afraid that using it once would shake her brain matter evenly.

“Damn it...”

“You aren’t afraid of that flesh and blood. Endure it for a bit.” Muen was as merciless as a scumbag.

His figure moved again. Blade light flashed, mincing an evil believer blocking his path. At the same time, he swung the Marcie Sword in his other hand. This time, she was much more practiced. With her eyes shut, she swung the hoe fiercely, forcing back every evil believer who drew close.

Although many evil believers were formerly Pioneers of Annabawei, and their strength far surpassed Marcie, who was still a trainee, that was not true for all of them.

Just like the few evil believers Muen had encountered when he first arrived here, among the evil believers, there were also showy weaklings who could be beaten violently by villagers. So of course, Muen would not make Marcie fight those powerful evil believers either.

The point of doing this was only to let her, who was still in a protected state, play a small role, and at the same time...

“Open your eyes. I’m teaching you how to strike.”

“Oh...”

Marcie forced herself to open her eyes and directly face those disgusting sprays of flesh and blood.

Although she was weak, and although her brain had a screw loose, most of the time, she was still frighteningly clever. Therefore, she also understood that Muen was not merely using her as a weapon or a shield.

With every swing from Muen, she could feel a faint force being transmitted from the large hand holding her belt into her body. This force was not strong, yet it seemed to precisely stimulate certain muscles in her limbs, teaching her how to strike.

As long as she followed that force, her body began moving on its own. The hoe, which was only a farming tool, actually displayed an unimaginable level of strength in her hands.

The old her would fall flat on the spot even when trying to finish off an enemy. Now, with a single hoe, she could actually make several evil believers unable to approach!

“Remember those methods of exerting force properly. Although you don’t have much magic inside your body, and your fighting aura is also very weak, you’re very lucky.”

Muen swung Marcie out, and both she and the hoe in her hands seemed to become an extension of his arm, smashing another evil believer’s head apart.

The corner of his mouth crooked. “When it comes to muscle control, I’m among the best in this world.”

Did she understand the value of making a full-fledged proud heroine cry for her parents and beg humbly for mercy with just two fingers?

Cough, cough. Wrong topic. Did she understand the value of tempering himself day and night inside the mental space?

Right now, what was gripping her belt was not just two fingers, but an entire hand!

“I know!”

Marcie gritted her teeth tightly. After all this movement, even she, whose stamina should have counted as exceptionally outstanding, felt that almost every muscle in her body was stinging.

But she did not give up. She realized why Muen was doing this.

He was teaching her to become an outstanding Pioneer!

...

“Sigh. Taking care of kids really is troublesome. It wears the heart out...”

Muen sighed. Seeing that Marcie had already gotten on the right track and could even perform extremely excellent movements at times without his guidance, he temporarily shifted his attention back from her.

What she was facing was only some small fry, the ones he had deliberately left behind...

“Outsider... die!”

Flesh bloomed like a flower, and tentacles like intestines extended from within it. Those tentacles shattered iron and stone and were incomparably tough... More importantly, the other side seemed to have noticed that Muen did not want to touch them, so they began using this kind of close-range, clinging attack.

And it was a coordinated attack.

Front, right, rear.

Aside from the left side, which Marcie was responsible for... or rather, which Muen had deliberately let her be responsible for, evil believers charged from several other directions at once. There were a full seven or eight of them. Their weapons were different, their moves were different, but their cooperation was extremely excellent.

Remaining reason, rich experience, considerable strength.

Add in the systematic training they had once received.

These evil believers who had once been Pioneers were more than one level stronger than ordinary evil believers. Under a coordinated attack, even Muen found them extremely troublesome.

“Move.”

In response, Muen could not be bothered to waste words.

He directly activated the alchemy core and froze all the enemies around him for one second.

Targets of this level, which was not especially high, did not require much stamina to freeze. And one second... was already enough for him to cut down everyone around him once.

Pfft.

Pfft.

Pfft.

Pfft.

One head after another rolled down.

One twisted limb after another collapsed limply.

From the time he had arrived in Annabawei until now, Muen had come into contact with quite a few evil believers. He had long since confirmed that the evil believers here were not quite the same as the evil believers outside. At least in terms of recovery ability, there was a fairly large difference.

They were more like people who had merely been polluted, but had not received the favor of an Evil God’s power. Therefore, although their vitality surpassed that of ordinary people, it still had not reached the level that would make one feel troubled.

Therefore, even with only such a tiny wound as having their heads fall off... they would still die.

“What the...”

On the other side, Marcie’s eyes were almost bulging out of her head... She was still frantically smashing the head of a big-headed evil believer on her side, while on Muen’s side... he had already cleared almost everyone around him like mowing grass.

“Whew... Don’t relax.” Muen let out a long breath and reminded her.

“Oh, oh!”

Marcie came back to her senses and continued wildly smashing the big head.

“This is... more tiring than I expected.”

Taking advantage of the chance before the other evil believers charged over, Muen narrowed his eyes and began thinking.

The consumption was greater than he had imagined.

Even when he had chosen to face these besieging evil believers head-on, he had not expected that he would actually use time stop.

It seemed that viewing these evil believers according to the strength level of Pioneers was indeed not very accurate.

Their minds had all gone wrong. They had long since stopped knowing what fear and pain were.

Fortunately, evil believers were still evil believers. At the very least, he did not have much psychological burden while cutting them down.

“Let’s continue...”

Muen intended to end the battle quickly. After his mowing just now, the evil believers around them had already been reduced by roughly half.

If he worked a little harder, perhaps he should be able to see that so-called Goddess of Night within an hour...

“It hurts...”

Just as Muen lifted his foot, he heard a suppressed sob.

He raised an eyebrow in confusion and lowered his head to look.

He found that not far from his foot, a female evil believer had bloody tears flowing from the corners of her eyes, and a hoarse hiss was coming from her throat...

“It hurts... It hurts... I hurt so much... My body hurts so much... Can someone help me see what happened to my body...”

“...”

Muen glanced at her body, which had flown far away, and remained silent.

These evil believers could actually still feel pain?

“Is this a disguise to provoke my pity? Sorry, this kind of method is far too crude. It doesn’t work on me.” Muen shook his head.

Playing pitiful.

Among evil believer tricks, this had long since belonged to a low-level trick that had been used rotten. Muen still remembered that his senior had once chatted with him about how, in the Silent Bureau, the first lesson any new recruit learned was not to pity any evil believer disguised as something pitiful.

Moreover, this thing had not even managed to play pitiful.

After all, no matter how one looked at it, a talking head could not be connected to the word “pitiful.”

“That Third Attendant from before could even toughly dig out his own organs. How are you this weak?”

Muen smiled and continued forward.

“Don’t...”

Another head opened its mouth. “Don’t keep moving forward... Outsider... turn back...”

“You wanted to kill me just now, and now you’re telling me to turn back?”

“Turn back...”

Perhaps because only a head was left, a few traces of clarity actually surfaced in that person’s eyes. “We... we cannot betray the Goddess again... Please...”

“If you’re begging me, I’d rather the Goddess of Night tell me personally. After all... she’s the one who called me here, isn’t she?”

Muen stepped over one corpse after another, completely ignoring the final clamor those people made before death arrived, and took the initiative to arrive before the remaining evil believers.

Corpses covered the ground. The vicious aura on these evil believers did not lessen in the slightest. They also seemed to have been enraged by Muen’s words just now, and they roared as they charged over again.

Muen stood ready.

However, at that moment...

A shadow suddenly surged and enveloped these evil believers within it.

Then... all the evil believers vanished.

Muen froze.

Looking at the empty mist, question marks could not help appearing one after another over his head.

This was... they couldn’t win, so they ran away?
