The Yellow-Haired Villain in Soaring Phoenix's Novels Also Desires Happiness

”Did I... transmigrate?”

Muen stared blankly at the reflection in the mirror.

Golden short hair spilled like rays of the newborn sun, framing a face so perfectly sculpted it looked like a work of marble art. Handsome features, flawless lines, and those pale blue eyes—deep and calm like a serene lake.

So handsome!

Muen felt his heart skip a beat—he was quite literally stunned by how good-looking the person in the mirror was. Even someone like him, desensitized by the endless stream of idol dramas, couldn’t help but gasp. How could a man be this attractive?!

But... that wasn’t him.

Or rather—it was him now. He had become someone else.

After clocking out at 2:30 AM and getting a lucky pull in a gacha game—five golds in one ten-pull—he had been riding high... until a passing dump truck ended his joy permanently.

Then he woke up here. In another world. As another person.

”Muen Campbell.”

A rush of unfamiliar memories flooded his brain, leaving him dizzy. Almost unconsciously, he spoke the name now tied to him.

The same name as in his past life.

And that name gave him a very bad feeling.

”No way... that much of a coincidence?”

Muen Campbell.

Because of the shared name, he remembered the character clearly.

He was from a western fantasy webnovel Muen had been reading recently—a “Feng Ao Tian” story, the female version of those OP male MC tales.

A duke’s son. High status, refined aura, stunning looks, and engaged to the third princess of the empire.

The perfect setup. A man born holding a golden key.

The odds of transmigrating into someone like that were lower than the national soccer team qualifying for the World Cup.

But there was one fatal flaw—

He was the early-game golden-haired villain.

Yes. Handsome, arrogant, noble, powerful, utterly blind to anyone beneath him—his whole purpose in the novel was to be a stepping stone for the protagonist.

A textbook antagonist: bully the heroine, send lackeys to pick fights, and get humiliated over and over while the protagonist leveled up at rocket ◆ Nоvеlіgһt ◆ (Only on Nоvеlіgһt) speed.

Eventually, Muen Campbell would meet his downfall—big time. And in the process, he’d unintentionally boost the relationship between the protagonist and one of the heroines—his fiancée.

Even when reading that part, Muen had wanted to yell, What an idiot.

The original Muen Campbell, fueled by jealousy over Celicia (the princess) getting too close to the protagonist and growing distant from him, lost his mind.

He drugged Celicia at a banquet, trying to claim her before the protagonist could.

Of course, it failed—because the protagonist arrived just in time.

And that moment became the real turning point. What was once mild interest turned into real feelings. The princess began falling for the heroine.

Talk about losing the battle and the war.

As for the original Muen? He was arrested for attempting to assault the imperial princess. The emperor himself stripped him of his nobility in a fit of rage. Even his overly doting parents couldn’t save him.

His final fate? Pathetic.

While he didn’t die, when the protagonist’s party met him again later in the book, he was a one-armed, one-legged beggar, barely surviving on the streets.

”I seriously transmigrated into the golden-haired cannon fodder villain? This is insane!”

”Aren’t transmigrators supposed to be blessed with cheat skills and chosen one plot armor? If I’m not the protagonist, then shouldn’t I at least assassinate her and take her place?”

Muen wanted to cry.

But he knew better.

This wasn’t your standard male OP fantasy.

This was a yuri OP fantasy.

In other words: Feng Ao Tian.

The protagonist... was a girl. A girl! A girl!

And in this world, same-sex romance was totally normal. There was even magic that allowed two women to have children together!

Sometimes, magic feels like a cheat code...

That’s why the original Muen had freaked out when he noticed something off between Celicia and the heroine—jealousy took over, and things spiraled fast.

But seriously, in a yuri novel, what chance does a male villain have?

Zero. Absolutely none. Readers would riot if he got in the way.

So even someone as well-born and handsome as Muen Campbell was destined to be a disposable villain, eliminated before chapter 20, replaced by the princess’s romance subplot.

”This is the weirdest and most cursed start ever.”

Muen rubbed his chin, deep in thought.

“But, if I think about it... this body does have perks. As long as I stay away from the protagonist, lay low, don’t stir up trouble... I can just live the good life as a duke’s son. Even if I don’t get to marry Celicia, there are plenty of noble ladies to choose from. A luxurious, carefree life sounds pretty sweet.”

“The only concern... is how far things have already progressed between the original me and the heroine. Hopefully, this is before the academy arc starts.”

Only someone who’d read the book would understand how absurdly powerful the protagonist was. Muen wasn’t stupid enough to try and challenge her.

Accept you’re weak, and you become untouchable.

The more he thought about it, the more this new identity didn’t seem so bad.

“Young Master Muen.”

Just as he was starting to feel hopeful, a knock came from the door.

A graceful maid entered.

“Ah... Anne.”

Muen recognized her immediately. She had a few scenes in the book. The original Muen’s personal maid and trusted confidante—she’d helped mastermind a lot of his plans against the protagonist.

“What is it?”

“Milady has summoned you.”

Anne bowed politely, hands folded over her waist.

“Your outfit for tomorrow’s banquet has arrived.”

“Oh... I see. Got it.”

Muen replied casually, planning to send her off quickly. He needed time to adjust—if he acted too off, Anne might get suspicious.

“Wait. What did you just say?”

Just as Anne turned to leave, Muen’s face froze.

“Banquet? What banquet?”

“Your coming-of-age banquet, young master.”

Anne’s brows knitted slightly, clearly worried. “Are you feeling unwell? How could you forget something so important?”

“N-no, I’m fine. Just woke up from a nap. Bit of a foggy head, that’s all. Sorry. You can go now.”

Muen forced a smile, waving her off.

Anne still looked unsure but obeyed and left the room quietly. ℴ

Silence returned.

Muen turned slowly back to the mirror, staring at the unfamiliar-yet-familiar face.

The memories were still swirling. Two lifetimes fusing together.

He was both Muen, and Muen Campbell.

His karma, his fate—now one and the same.

There was no escape.

”No no no no—what the hell is this?!”

Muen clutched his head in despair and let out a scream:

”Why is my coming-of-age banquet TOMORROW?!”

Becoming a chill, low-key duke’s son, marrying a noble beauty, and living a rich, carefree life—that dream had one condition:

Don’t antagonize the protagonist.

Don’t be the arrogant golden-haired disaster of a villain.

Hell, avoid the heroine completely if possible.

That was the real happy ending.

But now... that ending was gone.

Because according to the timeline, the damage was already done. And things were just one spark away from exploding.

Tomorrow—at his coming-of-age banquet—was the day the original Muen tried to drug the third princess, Celicia.

That wasn’t just a spark.

That was ground zero.

That was the day everything fell apart.
