He needed practical wisdom, a progressive mindset, and the ability to adapt to the ever changing world, qualities that Lie Fan himself had cultivated through his unique experiences, as he had received the teaching and value of the modern world in his past life and understood and accept the teaching and value of his life here in this era.

Lie Fan set aside the document he was reading, his focus too scattered to continue. He reached for a stack of blank scrolls and papers, dipped his brush into the inkwell, and began to write. His brush moved swiftly across the paper as he outlined his vision for Chenchen’s education.

He wanted to create a comprehensive plan that would not only prepare his son to be a capable heir but also instill in him the values and insights that Lie Fan had gained from his past life in the modern world. These lessons, he believed, were crucial for ensuring the longevity and adaptability of the dynasty he was building.

As he wrote, Lie Fan’s thoughts expanded beyond Chenchen to his other children. While the boys, Chenchen and Xuanxuan, would naturally bear the greater responsibility of leadership in this era, he did not want to neglect his daughters.

Yaoyao, Yanyan, and Nuonuo were just as important to him, and he believed that they too should be educated and empowered, albeit within the cultural norms of the time.

He envisioned a balanced approach, one that would prepare his sons to lead with wisdom and innovation while ensuring his daughters were well versed in ethics, governance, and the arts.

However, he was acutely aware of the delicate balance required. The societal norms of this era placed men in positions of authority, and while Lie Fan wanted to push boundaries, he knew that radical changes could lead to instability.

His goal was to create a system that would gradually evolve, ensuring that future generations could adapt without causing unnecessary conflict.

Lie Fan’s brush paused as he considered the broader implications of his vision. He wanted his dynasty to be one that could endure for centuries, not just through strength and wealth but through adaptability and innovation.

He had seen in his past life how societies that clung too tightly to tradition often fell behind, unable to keep pace with the rapid changes of the world. He was determined to avoid that fate for his descendants.

By instilling a progressive mindset in his children, he hoped to create a legacy that could evolve with the times, embracing new ideas and technologies while maintaining the core values of what his dynasty was built upon.

As he continued to write, Lie Fan outlined a detailed curriculum for Chenchen. It would include not only the traditional subjects of literature, history, and philosophy but also practical skills like governance, diplomacy, and military strategy.

He would personally oversee Chenchen’s training in martial arts, ensuring that his son was not only a scholar but also a warrior capable of leading his people in times of crisis.

Lie Fan also planned to share his own experiences and insights, teaching Chenchen about the importance of innovation, adaptability, and the value of diverse perspectives, especially in handling delicate matters.

For his daughters, Lie Fan envisioned a slightly different approach. While they would not be expected to lead armies or govern provinces, he believed they should still be educated in the arts of diplomacy, ethics, and governance.

They would learn to manage households, oversee charitable endeavors, and serve as advisors to their brothers and future husbands. Lie Fan wanted them to be strong, intelligent, and capable women who could contribute to the stability and prosperity of the Lie Clan in their own ways.

As the hours passed, Lie Fan’s desk became cluttered with scrolls filled with his plans and ideas. He wrote about the importance of fostering curiosity and critical thinking in his children, encouraging them to question the status quo and seek out new solutions to old problems.

He emphasized the value of empathy and compassion, traits that he believed were essential for any leader who wished to earn the loyalty and respect of their people. And he stressed the need for balance, between tradition and innovation, strength and compassion, authority and humility.

By the time Lie Fan set down his brush, the sun had begun to set, casting a warm golden light through the windows of his office. He leaned back in his chair, his mind both exhausted and exhilarated.

As he gathered the scrolls and prepared to leave his office, Lie Fan’s thoughts turned to his children. He imagined Chenchen and Xuanxuan standing tall and confident, leaders who could inspire and unite.

He pictured Yaoyao, Yanyan, and Nuonuo as wise and compassionate women, their influence extending far beyond the walls of their homes. And he thought of the child growing within Lu Lingqi, a symbol of hope and the promise of a brighter future.

Lie Fan stepped out of his office, the cool evening air brushing against his face. The Governor’s Castle was quiet now, the day’s activities winding down. As he made his way back to his residence, he felt a deep sense of fulfillment.

When he arrived home, he found Lu Lingqi waiting for him in the garden, her hand resting on her belly as she gazed at the stars. Lie Fan joined her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. They stood together in silence, the weight of the day’s responsibilities fading away as they shared this moment of peace.

”What are you thinking about?” Lu Lingqi asked softly, her voice breaking the stillness of the night.

Lie Fan smiled, his gaze fixed on the stars. ”The future,” he said. ”Our future, and the legacy we’ll leave for our children.”

Lu Lingqi leaned her head against his shoulder, her smile warm and content. ”It’s a beautiful future, Husband. And I know you’ll make it a reality.” Lie Fan tightened his arm around her, his heart filled with determination.

The next morning, after fulfilling his promise to play several rounds of hide and seek with his children, Lie Fan prepared to visit Xiapi Academy. Accompanied by two of his trusted Yellow Ghost bodyguards, he made his way through the bustling streets of Xiapi, his mind focused on the task ahead.

The academy was a place of learning and enlightenment, where the brightest minds of his domain even the entire land gathered to share knowledge and shape the future.

It was also the perfect place to seek the insights of Sima Hui, Pang Degong, and Huang Chengyan, three of the most respected scholars in the land, whose wisdom and experience would be invaluable in refining his plans for his children’s education.

As Lie Fan approached the academy, he was struck by the lively atmosphere. Students from noble families, scholarly circles, and merchant clans filled the courtyards and halls, their voices a harmonious blend of curiosity and ambition.

Some sought knowledge for its own sake, while others were there to build connections that would serve them in their future endeavors.

The academy was a microcosm of the world Lie Fan was trying to build, a place where talent and ambition could flourish, unbound by the constraints of birth or status, which was a work in progress.

When Lie Fan entered the academy, he was greeted by a servant who immediately recognized him. The servant bowed deeply and asked, ”My lord, how may I assist you today?”

Lie Fan smiled warmly. ”I wish to speak with Masters Sima Hui, Pang Degong, and Huang Chengyan. Are they available?”

The servant nodded. ”They are currently teaching a philosophy class, my lord. If you’ll follow me, I’ll take you to them.”

Lie Fan followed the servant through the winding corridors of the academy, the sound of scholarly discourse growing louder as they approached the classroom.

When they arrived, the servant gestured for Lie Fan to wait outside while he informed the masters of his presence. Lie Fan, however, couldn’t resist peeking into the classroom. What he saw captivated him.

Sima Hui, Pang Degong, and Huang Chengyan stood at the front of the room, their presence commanding yet approachable. They were in the midst of a lecture on ethics and philosophy, their words weaving a tapestry of wisdom that held the students spellbound.

The three masters took turns speaking, each adding their unique perspective to the discussion. Sima Hui’s words were measured and profound, Pang Degong’s were sharp and thought provoking, and Huang Chengyan’s were filled with warmth and practical insight.

Together, they created a dynamic and engaging learning environment that left a lasting impression on Lie Fan.

Unknowingly, Lie Fan found himself drawn into the lecture, his mind absorbing the lessons as if he were a student himself. The masters spoke of the importance of balance in life, the value of empathy, and the need to question the status quo in pursuit of truth.

Their teachings resonated deeply with Lie Fan, reinforcing his belief in the importance of a well rounded education that went beyond mere academics.

By the time the lecture ended, Lie Fan was so engrossed that he barely noticed the students filing out of the classroom. It was only when the servant gently tapped his shoulder that he snapped out of his reverie. ”My lord,” the servant said, ”the class has ended. You may enter now.”

Lie Fan thanked the servant and stepped into the classroom. The three masters, who had been gathering their materials, looked up in surprise when they saw him. They immediately set aside their scrolls and bowed respectfully. ”My lord,” Sima Hui said, his voice filled with genuine warmth, ”what brings you to our humble classroom?”

Lie Fan returned the bow, his expression one of admiration. ”Masters, I must say, your lecture was truly inspiring. The way you weave philosophy and ethics into practical lessons is nothing short of remarkable. I couldn’t help but listen in, and I found myself learning alongside your students.”

The three masters exchanged pleased glances, their faces lighting up with pride. ”You honor us with your praise, my lord,” Pang Degong said. ”It is our duty to guide the next generation, and we are grateful for the opportunity to do so.”

Huang Chengyan added, ”We are also deeply honored by your presence, my lord. To what do we owe the pleasure of your visit?”

Lie Fan smiled and gestured to the scrolls and papers he had brought with him. ”I’ve come to seek your wisdom, Masters. I’ve been working on a plan for my children’s education, and I would greatly value your insights.”

The three masters nodded, their expressions turning serious. ”Of course, my lord,” Sima Hui said. ”We would be happy to assist you in any way we can.”

Lie Fan spread the scrolls and papers across a table, revealing the detailed plans he had drafted the previous day. He began to explain his vision, his voice filled with passion and determination. ”As you know, I believe that education is the foundation of a strong and prosperous society. My children, especially my eldest son Muchen, will one day bear the responsibility of leading our domain. I want to ensure that they are not only well versed in the traditional subjects but also equipped with the practical wisdom and progressive mindset needed to navigate an ever changing world.”

He went on to outline the curriculum he had designed, which included not only literature, history, and philosophy but also governance, diplomacy, military strategy, and martial arts. He emphasized the importance of fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and empathy in his children, as well as the need to balance tradition with innovation.

The three masters listened intently, their expressions thoughtful. When Lie Fan finished, Sima Hui was the first to speak. ”My lord, your vision is both ambitious and inspiring. It is clear that you have put a great deal of thought into this plan, and we commend your dedication to your children’s education, especially young lord Muchen who will succeed you.”
