Tycoon: I Have an Unlimited Modifier

Spicy King, Taikoo Li Main Store.

In the largest private room, Qi Sheng, Yuan Li, and the others were chatting and laughing.

Lai Manling, who was organizing the get-together, kept stealing glances at Qi Sheng, her eyes occasionally showing a hint of infatuation.

She thought she hid it well.

But everyone there was sharp enough to notice; they were just too courteous to call her out on it.

Once the meal was winding down, everyone started to get down to business.

Currently, the corporation’s star project was undoubtedly Spicy King, a brand under Zhuangyu Catering.

Shengxuan Decoration naturally benefited from Spicy King’s rapid expansion as well.

The renovation work for the new branches alone was enough to keep Peng Qingsong and his team completely swamped.

”Boss, Spicy King is about to open another 24 branches, and we’re starting to run short on people.”

”What’s your call? Should we assign more people, or should we subcontract some of the work?”

At a meaningful glance from Peng Qingsong and Liu Zheng, Jian Zhenzhe could only appeal to the big boss for help with a wry smile.

”Not enough people again?”

Qi Sheng was a little surprised, but he understood their predicament.

Shengxuan Decoration’s core talent consisted of only the ten Elite Designers he had assigned to them.

That, plus Peng Qingsong and Liu Zheng, who were both Expert Level designers.

Just renovating the 20 Spicy King stores in the Southwest, on top of the design work for his women’s houses, was enough to keep them in a flurry of activity.

Now, with another 24 branches on the way—in the four top-tier cities, no less—their meager staff was clearly stretched too thin.

”We could absolutely handle the renovation work for the Spicy King stores if we had enough time.”

”But President Yuan is pushing for a tight deadline, and we’re truly short-staffed.”

Jian Zhenzhe knew just how resourceful the big boss could be.

He looked at Qi Sheng with eager anticipation, hoping to get some personnel support from him.

”The people I arrange will report for duty at the beginning of next month.”

It was a headache for Qi Sheng, but he had no choice but to take on the task.

’I was just thinking that once next month’s 50 million comes in,’ he thought.

’Plus the 40-some million I have on hand, I could finally buy a yacht for fun.’

’Looks like that’s not happening now. So much for that dream.’

Qi Sheng consoled himself. ’It’s all for a better future.’

’Once Spicy King’s 24 stores in the four top-tier cities open for business...’

’...plus the 20 stores currently under renovation and the Taikoo Li Main Store...’

’...the total number of stores will reach 45!’

’As long as the revenue and net profit are solid, it’s sure to attract a lot of attention from investors.’

’By then, Spicy King’s valuation will also skyrocket.’

’Thinking about that bright future where Spicy King reaches a 10 billion US Dollar valuation...’

’...the 50 million I have to spend next month doesn’t seem so painful anymore.’

”Thank you, Boss!”

Jian Zhenzhe hadn’t expected Qi Sheng to agree so readily to send more staff. Pleasantly surprised, he thanked him profusely.

”Boss, we at Spicy King are also short on people. Good store managers, in particular, are in very high demand.”

Yuan Li said, looking at Qi Sheng with a hint of jealousy.

After all, her Spicy King was the company with the highest valuation in the entire corporation.

Even Shengxuan Decoration depended on them for business.

”Ahem, I’ll take care of it. The Spicy King stores haven’t opened yet, so there’s no immediate rush.”

Qi Sheng was at a loss with Yuan Li and could only try to placate her.

”I promise you, by the time Spicy King is ready to open, the store managers and assistant managers for all 20 branches will be in place.”

”That’s more like it.”

Only then was Yuan Li satisfied, and she went back to laughing and chatting with Lai Manling.

”Hold on. The other companies don’t need that many people for the time being.”

Qi Sheng said, seeing Zhou Huaiping and Jie Chao looking like they were about to speak up, cutting them off preemptively.

”Boss, you’re playing favorites.”

Jie Chao said in an aggrieved tone, ”I know Zifei and Yu Tu can’t compare to Spicy King, but the site for our organic farm has been selected. All we’re missing is the startup capital.”

”How much did the organic farm need again?”

Qi Sheng rubbed his temples and asked with a wry smile.

”Heh heh, just 150 million. Not much,” Jie Chao said, rubbing his hands together and looking at Qi Sheng expectantly.

”What, do you think I’m a gold mine?”

Qi Sheng shot back irritably, ”What about the funds on Zhuangyu Catering’s books?”

”The renovation and rent for the Zifei branch at Luhu Lake alone will cost 40 million.”

”The renovation for the Yu Tu Restaurant at Hangzhou Xixi Wetland is another 13 million.”

Jie Chao lamented, ”I’m really not trying to make things difficult for you, Boss. The truth is, the funds on the company’s books aren’t even enough to cover the renovations for both restaurants at the same time, let alone launch the organic farm project.”

”How much money is in the company’s account now?”

Qi Sheng nodded, knowing that Jie Chao was telling the truth.

”After settling payments to suppliers, employee salaries, and rent, and setting aside the 10 million first installment for the two branch renovations, we have less than 500,000 left on the books.”

A wry smile appeared on Jie Chao’s face; even he felt a little embarrassed.

Compared to Spicy King, which Yuan Li was in charge of, the difference was like night and day.

He was practically doing the job of a general manager for Zhuangyu Catering.

Yuan Li focused all her energy on Spicy King.

She had no interest in managing the other two restaurant brands or the organic farm.

”We can hold off on the full renovation payment for now.”

Qi Sheng rubbed his brow, finally feeling the hardships of being a boss.

Especially with so many diverse ventures, all of which were in their startup phase and in need of capital for development.

The fifty-some million from the system was nowhere near enough to feed so many mouths.

”The rent for the Luhu Lake location, is it 15 million a year?”

”That’s right. There isn’t much foot traffic there yet, and they need a high-end restaurant as a showpiece, so they gave us a huge discount.”

Jie Chao said proudly.

It was a deal he had fought tooth and nail to secure, after all.

”Okay, then out of that 10 million, give five million to them for the rent, and give Shengxuan Decoration five million as the first installment. Get the renovations for both restaurants started simultaneously.”

Qi Sheng laid out his plan methodically.
