Tycoon: I Have an Unlimited Modifier

The third floor of the International Gold Center was packed with all kinds of high-end watch brands.

Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, Roger Dubuis, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and other luxury watch brands were all among them.

Qi Sheng’s budget was more than ample, so he was looking at watches in the million-plus price range.

If he wanted a Patek Philippe, he would have to go to the Capital City or Shanghai, as Chengdu didn’t have an authorized dealership.

Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin, on the other hand, both had boutiques, so he could check them out one by one.

But before he could get to those two stores, he passed by the Roger Dubuis boutique and was instantly rooted to the spot.

The Roger Dubuis brand wasn’t as famous as Richard Mille.

But it was still an extremely high-end, top-tier watch brand.

Their Knights of the Round Table and Excalibur series were both very avant-garde in design, each with its own unique character.

But what caught Qi Sheng’s eye this time was a superwatch from the Excalibur racing series, jointly developed and designed by Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini’s motorsports division.

The Excalibur series best represents Roger Dubuis’s design style.

The Aventador, in turn, was the pinnacle of performance among Lamborghini’s production sports cars, priced at nearly ten million.

One could only imagine how stunning the resulting Excalibur Aventador S watch—a combination of the two—was.

The watch’s blue rubber-coated case and crown, along with its carbon fiber fluted bezel adorned with blue markings, were fantastically beautiful.

The black DLC-coated titanium crown, overlaid with blue rubber, felt incredible to the touch.

The entire watch was made from C-SMC carbon fiber, the same material used by Lamborghini, making it incredibly lightweight.

In terms of weight, it was in a completely different league from a typical everyday watch.

Roger Dubuis’s designers had intentionally designed a transparent ”engine hood” in the center of the watch, which had become its core signature feature.

’In a word: badass!’

As a watch with a starting price in the millions, it was naturally equipped with the brand’s proprietary in-house movement.

The moment Qi Sheng laid eyes on it, he was completely captivated by the unique timepiece.

Roger Dubuis pulled the same stunt as Richard Mille—everything was a limited edition of a limited edition.

They seemed intent on making every single watch a one-of-a-kind, priceless collector’s item.

The watch had a list price of 1.58 million, and you usually had to pre-order to get one.

Qi Sheng was just lucky to even see it.

A customer had recently canceled their order.

It had been on display in the store for less than an hour.

With a worldwide limited run of only 88 pieces, the watch was in extremely high demand.

Someone had already spoken to the store manager and asked him to hold it for them.

Qi Sheng didn’t hesitate. He offered an extra 120,000 on the spot and simply bought it out from under them.

When he used to read those novels about super-rich protagonists, they all seemed to love buying Richard Mille watches, treating them as some kind of ”billionaire’s entry ticket.”

But Qi Sheng just couldn’t get the appeal of Richard Mille’s aesthetics.

He had become a Roger Dubuis fan instead.

Besides the Excalibur racing series, which had only been on the market for a couple of years, Roger Dubuis’s classic Excalibur and Knights of the Round Table series also had excellent designs.

’If I have some spare cash in the future, I can collect a few more.’

’For now, though, I just need a high-class watch to keep up appearances.’

”Jeez, you spend money like that... can you manage your cash flow?”

As Tan Hua watched Qi Sheng swipe his card, she finally snapped back to reality, unable to help feeling a little worried.

’Don’t people say that the super-rich rarely have much liquid cash, that it’s all tied up in their companies or projects?’

’But now, seeing Qi Sheng swipe 1.7 million for a single watch without a moment’s hesitation... it was completely shattering her worldview.’

To her, 1.7 million was an astronomical figure.

But to Qi Sheng, it was just a watch.

”A company I invested in a while back saw its valuation skyrocket, so I sold my shares to another VC firm and cashed out with the profits.”

Qi Sheng showed Tan Hua his China Construction Bank transaction history.

The eye-watering notification for a 25 million deposit left Tan Hua utterly stunned.

Even though Qi Sheng had told her before that he’d made his fortune with Bitcoin, invested in a few companies, and was worth tens of millions...

...it wasn’t until that long string of digits representing 25 million appeared before her very eyes that Tan Hua truly grasped the sheer scale of her boyfriend’s wealth.

’This was 25 million in cash!’

’Not some bubble-like valuation.’

”You’re incredible!”

Her delicate face was filled with utter adoration.

”I’ve picked out mine, now it’s your turn. I saw a nice women’s watch from them earlier. How about we get a matching pair?”

Qi Sheng basked in her adoring gaze, smiling gently as he stroked his girlfriend’s silky black hair.

”For me?”

Tan Hua froze for a second, then quickly shook her head.

”No, I couldn’t. I already have a Cartier, and the watches here are ridiculously expensive.”

”Just listen to me. I’m in a good mood today, and this offer won’t last forever.”

Without taking no for an answer, Qi Sheng led Tan Hua by the hand over to the women’s watch section.

Pointing to a watch fully encrusted with diamonds that glittered captivatingly under the lights, Qi Sheng instructed a female sales associate in black gloves, ”This one’s nice. Please let my girlfriend try it on.”

”Mr. Qi, this watch is also a new model from this year’s Excalibur racing series. It could be considered the matching pair to your own.”

”This is the only one we have in the store at the moment. It builds upon the design philosophy of the Excalibur series, but incorporates diamond elements for the first time.”

”The case is made of the same carbon fiber material as your watch, and it’s equipped with the RD508SQ mechanical movement, which guarantees an ample power reserve.”

”Furthermore, this is the world’s first watch to feature a diamond-set tourbillon cage, inlaid with a total of 166 diamonds that have been meticulously cut and selected by the designer.”

”Most importantly, this watch is limited to a worldwide release of only eight pieces, so the chance of running into someone else wearing the same model is virtually zero.”
