Endless white light filled his vision.

Wei Yang stood dazed in this world of white light. There was no one else around—only him. At this moment, even his own memories seemed to have become muddled and chaotic.

”Where is this place?” Wei Yang frowned tightly, muttering to himself. He tried hard to sort through the tangled, fragmented memories in his mind. However—

Hmm?

Wei Yang suddenly lifted his head, and not far before him, a ring of light appeared, floating like a shimmering portal. He hesitated for a moment, then took a step forward toward it. After pausing briefly, he stepped inside.

The instant he entered the light circle, it felt as if only a single moment had passed—yet also as though tens or even hundreds of years had gone by.

His very thoughts seemed infinitely stretched. While he was still lost in confusion, his vision suddenly blurred, and the scene around him changed completely.

An endless, dark, and deep void replaced the blindingly white world, spreading across his sight.

”This place... is the depths of the void?”

Standing amid the darkness, Wei Yang murmured in a daze. Within those chaotic fragments of memory, this place stirred an inexplicable sense of familiarity.

It felt... like he had been here before.

He looked around, but all he could see was boundless, empty darkness. Emptiness, desolation, deathly stillness, coldness, loneliness, and darkness—these were the eternal themes here. Between heaven and earth, it seemed as though only he existed. Then—

A single ray of golden light appeared from the distance, like the first light of creation splitting heaven and earth apart, like the dawn piercing through the darkness before daybreak. Soon, the golden light grew brighter and brighter, rushing toward him rapidly.

When it reached not far before him, he could finally see it clearly—a blazing golden sun. Its surface burned with fierce golden flames that seemed capable of melting the very void itself. A blurry figure sat cross-legged within that golden sun.

Though his face was unclear, an overwhelming aura of supreme nobility emanated from him, shaking the entire void.

”Junior!”

The indistinct figure spoke slowly, and a thunderous voice rumbled across the void.

”You are... Light Emperor?” Wei Yang was stunned, blurting out instinctively. But the moment the words left his mouth, he froze.

Light Emperor? Why did that name sound so familiar? Who was he again? Oh, right... I’m Wei Yang.

Among the countless tangled threads of memory, he seemed to have faintly grasped a few.

”Junior, after such a short time, you dare forget me already?” The blurry figure sitting within the golden sun sounded furious, his voice booming, ”I am the Yang Emperor!”

”The Yang Emperor?”

That name...

Wei Yang frowned slightly. For some reason, an inexplicable irritation rose in his chest, as if something precious had been stolen from him. While he was still trying to figure out the reason behind that feeling—

”Junior, how dare you show disrespect to the Emperor! Die!”

A deafening roar erupted from within the golden sun, shaking the void until it began to collapse and shatter. In the next instant, the golden sun burst open, exploding in a dazzling blaze.

Boundless golden light swept forth, carrying scorching heat as it engulfed everything in its path. At the same time, a strange fluctuation surged toward him—so intense that even his Dou Qi seemed ready to ignite on its own.

Whoosh~

Golden flames roared out wildly, turning the void into a blazing furnace. Watching the terrifying onslaught of golden light and flames coming his way, Wei Yang frowned slightly. He raised one hand, and instantly, a surge of indescribable gray energy gathered crazily in his palm.

A wave of ultimate destruction began to spread out slowly.

As the power of annihilation expanded, everything it touched—dazzling light, blazing heat, sweeping golden flames—was instantly extinguished and scattered into nothingness. The wave continued to spread, devouring everything in its path.

That blazing golden sun trembled violently, as if a roaring bonfire had suddenly been doused with a bucket of icy water. Its radiance dimmed rapidly, nearly extinguished altogether.

”You—” The majestic figure within the sun vanished, and the golden sphere itself disappeared as well. Only a faint wisp of golden flame remained, flickering weakly in midair like a dying candle in the wind.

”This kind of power...” Wei Yang stared blankly at the sight before him.

Then, in astonishment, he lowered his gaze to his palm, where that terrifying gray energy—the embodiment of ultimate destruction—still swirled. This power felt both familiar and foreign.

It was unimaginably strong, beyond description. In that instant, he felt as though if he merely willed it, this heaven and earth, this entire world, could be shattered beneath his hand.

”This... this kind of power?!” Wei Yang murmured in disbelief. Then, joy flooded his eyes.

Wasn’t this the power he had always been chasing after? To wield such strength—he felt like he could be invincible in this world!

A moment later, Wei Yang lifted his head, gazing at the dim golden flame. He stretched out his hand and grasped at the air. Instantly, that small flame was pulled toward him and landed in his palm.

Looking at the trembling, pitifully weak wisp of golden fire in his hand, Wei Yang frowned. ”I remember destroying you once before. How are you still alive?”

As he spoke, he gently clenched his hand.

Bang!

The golden flame exploded in his grasp, scattering into countless sparks that gradually faded away, vanishing completely into nothingness. Lowering his head, Wei Yang looked at his now-empty palm.

”Oh, I remember now. This flame seems to be called the Gold Emperor Incinerating Heavenly Flame? Ranked fourth among all the Heavenly Flames? It once held high-level Ban Sheng power? How could it be this weak?”

”Have I just become that strong?” Wei Yang took a slow breath.

That feeling—the ability to destroy everything with the mere lift of a hand—was intoxicating. Was this the power of a Dou Sheng-level being?

”No... something’s not right. But what exactly is wrong...” Wei Yang frowned deeply and shook his head hard. Just then—

Roooar~

A dragon’s roar filled with boundless majesty and divine authority resounded through the void. A pair of massive purple-gold eyes emerged from the darkness. Wei Yang quickly forced down his confusion and looked up.

Before him, within the endless black void, a colossal dragon slowly took form, its immense body stretching so far it vanished into the horizon. Those mighty dragon eyes stared down at him from above.

”Boy, do you dare battle me?” The dragon’s mouth opened slightly, and a thunderous voice echoed, shaking the void itself.

”You are... Zhu Kun?” Wei Yang blurted out.

”Correct. It is I.” The dragon’s voice rumbled like thunder, a hint of satisfaction flickering in its vast eyes. ”You’ve done well, boy. It’s been but a short time, and yet you’ve already grown this much.”

The dragon’s voice boomed again. ”Come, fight me! I have only just broken free from my confinement and need a fierce battle to unleash my pent-up might! Do you dare face me?”

”A fight? Haha! Why wouldn’t I dare? Come!” Wei Yang laughed heartily, his chest surging with fighting spirit.

For now, he set aside his tangled thoughts. At this moment, he too wanted a real battle—to test the terrifying power within him. That deep yearning rising from his heart made him impatient to clash with Zhu Kun.

He raised his hand and struck fiercely toward the massive dragon.

Boom!

With that strike, the void ahead caved inward, forming a massive gray handprint thousands of meters wide that slammed straight toward the dragon’s enormous head.

Though the strike did not shatter the void, it was far more terrifying than one that did—it was the embodiment of power condensed to its extreme.

”Good! Come!”

Roar~

The dragon let out a mighty roar and thrust out a massive claw. The dragon claw and gray handprint collided in an instant—no flourish, no delay. Silently, an invisible shockwave rippled outward in all directions like a tidal ring, sweeping across everything.

Every inch of space along its path silently crumbled into dust, revealing an even deeper darkness beyond. Under this devastating aftershock, everything was utterly annihilated, leaving no trace behind.

Such power... inspired pure, instinctive fear.
