Chapter 155: Chapter 95: Dog: My Relationship with Little Aunt Is Rapidly Heating Up

”Can you hold me for a little while?”

When Gu Xiangzhu heard this, she could hardly believe her ears.

’Did I hear him right?’

’He’s asking me to hold him?’

’How dare he?’

In all her years, no man had ever dared to make such a request of her.

The request subconsciously brought back some sensitive memories.

Her feet even seemed to tingle.

’How did he have the nerve!’

Gu Xiangzhu felt a flicker of anger, but when she looked at Zhao Ci’s face, all she saw was a helpless young man. His eyes held not a trace of impurity; they even darted away in a panic.

Like an injured puppy, begging a stranger for help.

’Perhaps there aren’t many people in this world he feels he can rely on.’

’And I... might be one of them?’

She hesitated, but she quickly realized this was the perfect opportunity to foster a sense of dependence on her in Zhao Ci.

So, she nodded.

”Alright.”

”Huh?”

Zhao Ci’s eyes widened, filled with disbelief. ”Really?”

Gu Xiangzhu raised a slender finger. ”Just this once. Your body is too weak right now and needs more time to recover. Besides, I’ll have plenty of things I need your help with in the future.”

”Okay, okay!”

Zhao Ci’s voice was tinged with excitement. As if embarrassed by his dirty clothes, he stumbled out of bed. ”Then I’ll go change my clothes first.”

With that, he grabbed his clothes and ran to a corner where Gu Xiangzhu couldn’t see him, the RUSTLE RUSTLE of fabric filling the air as he changed.

Gu Xiangzhu: ”...”

She let out a soft sigh, then leaned over to pick up the clean bedding and replace the sweat-soaked sheets.

She sat on the edge of the bed and waited quietly.

After a long while, she saw Zhao Ci walk over timidly.

He seemed afraid to get any closer, stopping about three feet away and scratching his head awkwardly.

Gu Xiangzhu asked, ”Why aren’t you coming over?”

”I, I...”

Zhao Ci stammered, ”Was my request a little too forward?”

Gu Xiangzhu countered, ”Haven’t you done things that were even more forward?”

Zhao Ci: ”...”

Gu Xiangzhu said coolly, ”For these past seventeen years, in my eyes, you were nothing but a burden to be discarded as soon as possible. I never once thought of you as a son. But I did watch you grow up. If you’re willing, it wouldn’t be out of the question for you to see me as an elder from now on.”

With that said, she smiled and beckoned to Zhao Ci.

[Gu Xiangzhu’s Current Wish]: Break Zhao Ci’s will with words and turn him into a completely obedient little puppy. Reward for Completion: Insight +1000, Dog Taming Chain x1.

Zhao Ci: ”...”

He nodded and sat down on the bed.

After taking several deep breaths, he carefully lay down with his head in Gu Xiangzhu’s lap.

Gu Xiangzhu’s body tensed for a moment but quickly relaxed. She placed her right hand on Zhao Ci’s Dantian. ”I’ll help you clear your meridians. Don’t let your mind wander. Just try to sleep.”

Zhao Ci: ”...”

’This is basically a face full.’

’How could I not let my mind wander?’

Lying there, looking up past the twin peaks at Gu Xiangzhu’s face, he felt a growing sense of awe. ’This ”auntie” of mine really is a rare beauty.’

Even from this horribly unflattering angle, her beauty was breathtaking.

To be honest, making this request was a bit of a risk.

But it had to be done.

It certainly wasn’t just out of lust.

’At least... not entirely.’

What he needed was to test this woman’s nature to decide the extent of their future cooperation.

He and that Old Deng, Zhao Huan, had an irreconcilable conflict. If he wanted to use one’s power against the other, he had to get enough out of Gu Xiangzhu. But right now, he and Gu Xiangzhu were both just putting on an act for each other.

He had to find out just how much of what she showed him was real and how much was fake.

But he hadn’t found the right chance, as he couldn’t create a situation where he would seem ”helpless and alone.” The assassination attempt, as shocking as it was, had undoubtedly provided him with a precious opportunity.

And the tool he was using was this damn wish system.

The wish to tame the dog wouldn’t disappear.

He didn’t expect Gu Xiangzhu to have zero aggressive intentions toward him.

But the timing of the wish’s appearance was crucial.

The notification had only appeared right as he was about to lay his head on her lap.

That meant this ”auntie” didn’t bear him complete malice.

Combined with her previous wish for him to recover, it was more than enough proof.

’As long as I can hold my ground and not cross any lines, this relationship is definitely something I can cultivate further.’

Having confirmed this point, his mental state began to relax.

Having survived the ordeal, the sudden release of tension from his frayed nerves was immediately followed by a tidal wave of exhaustion that washed over him.

Recalling the earlier events, a sense of delayed fear finally crept into his heart.

However, lying in his ”auntie’s” warm embrace, he felt a strange sense of security.

Gu Xiangzhu quietly cleared Zhao Ci’s meridians, her body gradually relaxing. She had been genuinely afraid that Zhao Ci would try to get handsy again.

But this time, the boy seemed exceptionally well-behaved.

He just lay there quietly, making no sudden moves.

Even his breathing was calm and steady.

However, it seemed he wasn’t asleep.

”You...”

Zhao Ci’s voice was faint.

Gu Xiangzhu said coolly, ”Is ’you’ a nice thing to call someone? In private, you can call me Auntie Zhu.”

Zhao Ci seemed a little excited. ”Is ’Zhu’ a character from your real name?”

”Mhm...”

”But I want to call you Sister Zhu.”

”...As you wish.”

”Sister Zhu! Your current appearance... is it your real face, or my mother’s?”

”It’s neither mine nor your mother’s.”

”Huh?”

Zhao Ci was stunned for a moment. He truly had not expected that answer.

Gu Xiangzhu said coolly, ”I heard from Zhao Huan that in the great battle eighteen years ago, he was gravely injured and went to Yingzhou Immortal Island to recuperate. At that time, only a master and disciple remained on Yingzhou Immortal Island. To save him, the master exhausted all her power and passed away.
