S-Rank Harem: I Became My Character with Extra Control Skill

With that firm statement on the high mountain edge, Chloe finally became an official member of the group. The young holy knight accepted her new place with immense determination in her heart.

After that grand and loud celebration party, there was absolutely no time to relax. Work in the fortress multiplied quickly for all the new residents and the artisans.

Finally, two long weeks had passed since Demon King Rigal’s howls of pain were extinguished forever. His death on the Kowarre battlefield completely changed the history of the entire snowy continent.

And exactly as Ryan had ordered, the leaders of every town and city in the nation presented themselves before him. They arrived at the grand castle with much intrigue, distrust, and a deep respect for the new demon king.

None of the great demon leaders opposed Ryan during the tense initial assembly. Even though at first they all felt intimidated by his mere presence on the throne.

That widespread, immense fear was due to the towns closest to the castle feeling Ryan’s overflowing power days ago. They felt that suffocating and crushing magical pressure when he deactivated the relic that contained the village.

So, after the entire nation officially accepted him as their undisputed king, Ryan made his first unification move. He handed each of the cautious leaders a set of valuable long-distance communication relics.

They were complex and highly polished metallic relics that, thanks to Runa and Mika’s arduous and constant work, had been drastically improved. The girls modified the mana frequency so the signal wouldn’t be cut off by the territory’s heavy snowstorms.

In addition to that, Alisa also contributed many brilliant ideas on how to make them lighter and more adaptable. The beastwoman wove special straps to make them much easier to carry for demons of different sizes.

Ryan gave the strict order in front of everyone to notify him immediately through the relics if they noticed anything strange. He wanted to know exactly if any human from the church, an outsider demon, or any suspicious creature crossed their borders.

But he also took advantage of the room’s total attention to leave a very unusual and highly specific order for everyone. They were strictly forbidden to fight a certain blond S-rank hero.

Ryan was very clear with the safety instructions regarding that particular human. If the border guards were to see him crossing the mountains, and he came in peace, they were not to attack him under any circumstances.

The royal order was to notify the castle immediately and bring him before him alive and without any injuries.

’I’m sure that fool will come here at some point,’ Ryan thought, remembering the agreement he made with William in the distant village of Eibach.

Every demon leader present in the throne room obeyed his strange orders without daring to ask additional questions. In addition to those laws, they all received a very detailed and extensive report on what Ryan would do with the nation.

Because the human planned to make the entire region progress economically and completely develop it with the help of all the races. The main promise was that they would no longer be a nation of uncontrollable wild beasts that only sought constant war.

During all that time of organization and diplomacy, in the castle’s smithy, the blacksmiths worked arduously. Day and night, the loud sound of heavy hammers against hot metal echoed through the thick stone walls.

They were deeply motivated by the highly dedicated and tireless attitude of the dwarf Runa and the alchemist Mika. Seeing the two fragile young women working non-stop in front of the fire, none of the burly demon blacksmiths allowed themselves to rest.

The robust men only took very brief breaks to drink water or eat something quick inside the workshop itself.

Occasionally, Ryan visited them in person to oversee the project’s great progress. The heat in that enclosed smithy was so suffocating that the air itself constantly reverberated with an intense scarlet glow.

The whole place was strongly permeated with the thick smell of ash and boiling alchemical oils. But the most remarkable and intimidating thing in the air was the heavy residual miasma that still emanated from the wolf demon king’s corpse.

That manufacturing project had absolutely no precedent in the continent’s long and bloody history. It was a unique and amazing collaboration that defied the old customs of all the races present in the forge.

The dwarven blacksmiths, undisputed grandmasters of runic tempering and the complex geometry of steel, led the smelting. They had worked side by side with the experienced demonic forgers without any kind of racial prejudice or resentment.

For their part, the demons proved to be absolute experts in channeling old grudges, souls, and manipulating the malleability of monstrous bones.

Alongside all those rough men, the great alchemist of the elves carefully distilled the giant beast’s boiling acid blood. Mika used that powerful blood to create complex living mana matrices that would enhance the cores of the new weapons.

Meanwhile, Alisa, proving to be an exceptional master weaver, interlaced thick tendons, white fur, and hardened leather. The focused beastwoman joined those monstrous materials with bone needles to give the final shape to the protective attire.

All that meticulous work was to forge the equipment of those who would bear the difficult destiny and total security of the new kingdom.

And finally, after two weeks of almost inhuman effort, the blacksmiths completely finished their colossal work. They wiped their sweat, left the forge, and headed immediately to the grand throne room.

In front of Ryan’s elite group, the burly artisans waited patiently, lined up in the center of the wide room. They looked completely exhausted, with burns and covered in soot, but with immense pride burning in their tired eyes.

On a large raised wooden platform, completely covered under wide mantles of enchanted silk, rested the finished objects. Those were the reborn vestiges of the terrible Demon King Rigal, ready to be delivered.

Everyone present in the throne room looked at the covered bundles with great expectation and a certain degree of irrational fear. Helen, Mirian, Karol, Beatrice, Lise, and Chloe held their breath at the intense and dark power seeping through the silk.

”It took us seven continuous days to appease the immense hatred of that huge beast.”

The demon master blacksmith spoke, taking a heavy, respectful step forward to address Ryan directly. His hoarse and tired voice echoed with immense authority in the silent and cold throne room.

”Rigal’s flesh and dark soul did not die. Now his powerful wild essence and deep hatred give an unimaginable power to all these new weapons and armor.”

The master blacksmith gave a quick signal with his large calloused hand. The enchanted silk mantles were suddenly removed by the other artisans at the same time, revealing the weapons in front of everyone.

The entire combat equipment seemed to be alive and pulsating rhythmically on the tables. The compressed mana energy sounded exactly like the slow and strong beats of a bestial heart refusing to die.
