The Duke's Pampered Darling is So Scheming

Chapter 636: Chapter 636: Escape

King Yan Nan’s brows were knitted tightly. ”That’s right. They’ve afflicted me with a poisonous insect, so I can’t use my Inner Strength.”

Ye Yunfeng gave a slight nod, his face devoid of any surprise.

”There’s no quick fix for the Poisonous Gu Technique, but our top priority right now is to escape. Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, I’ll make sure you get out safely.”

As he spoke, Ye Yunfeng crouched down slightly and flicked up the hem of his robes.

”Use me as a foothold to get over the wall. Our people are waiting not far from here to receive us.”

King Yan Nan glanced at him and accepted without hesitation. ”I’ll be troubling you, then.”

With that, he took a step back, charged forward to build momentum, planted a foot on Ye Yunfeng’s knee, braced a hand on his forearm, and vaulted himself into the air!

Ye Yunfeng was right behind him. With a single, light leap, he vaulted over the wall with the agility and grace of a leopard!

Their figures vanished in the blink of an eye. The area fell silent, as if nothing had ever happened.

...

The people inside the estate had no idea what had just happened. On the other side of the wall, Ye Yunfeng carefully led King Yan Nan forward.

After making their way through a few deserted alleyways, the two quickly changed their clothes.

King Yan Nan watched with his own eyes as the young man before him simply swiped a hand across his face, and his entire appearance changed.

Aside from his bright, roguish eyes, he was nearly unrecognizable.

He marveled inwardly once again.

’So capable at such a young age... Not only is he a master of martial arts, but he’s also incredibly clever. A talent like this is truly rare!’

”I don’t recall hearing about this. Since when did Feng Zhang have such a capable subordinate who also knows the art of Disguise?”

Ye Yunfeng pulled a fake beard from his robes and handed it over, a dashing smile playing on his lips. ”It’s nothing, just a few parlor tricks. I used to use them to tease my big sister and little sister, that’s all.”

’His big sister, of course, could always see through his ruse in a single glance. When she was in a good mood, she would even offer him a pointer or two on how to improve.’

’As for Xiao Wu, well, she was little and easy to tease. He’d scared her to tears at first, but she wised up eventually. All it took was one sniff from her little nose, and she’d know it was him, not a bit of fear in sight.’

As he spoke, he pulled a worn-out sachet from his sleeve and casually tossed it near the wall.

King Yan Nan’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Ye Yunfeng explained, ”I’ve heard the Nanhu have many specialists, some of whom can track people relentlessly by scent alone. It’s always safer to leave a false trail.”

King Yan Nan laughed.

It was his first truly genuine laugh in all the time since his ordeal began.

”Tuoba Yu thinks his men are an impenetrable, invincible fortress, but in reality, someone has already seen through all their tricks! HAHA!”

If Tuoba Yu saw this with his own eyes, he’d probably be angry enough to spit blood!

Some unknown youth had single-handedly infiltrated the estate he’d had so heavily guarded, and had even anticipated all of his countermeasures.

If word of this got out, people would be laughing their heads off!

As King Yan Nan stuck the beard to his face, he gave Ye Yunfeng a smile of undisguised admiration. ”Kid, you’ve really got some skills! If we can successfully get out of Long City today, you’re guaranteed to have a boundless future!”

It was both a compliment and a promise.

Ye Yunfeng understood, but he showed no sign of being overly deferential. Instead, he rubbed his nose and gave a cheeky grin.

”Now that I’m here, the thought of not getting out has never even crossed my mind. I’ve been in Long City for a few days, so I know my way around. All you have to do is follow me!”

With that, he walked a few steps forward, peeked his head around the corner to check both ways, and let out a whistle.

The next moment, a carriage suddenly emerged from a nearby alley.

King Yan Nan froze, his expression incredulous. ”This... Don’t tell me you plan on riding this carriage out of the city?!”
