Myths Reawakened

Planck scanned each of the legendary mages. Although he knew he wouldn’t see anything, he still tried to glimpse something from their expressions. “I’m not sure what that person is trying to achieve, but as the gatekeeper of Windsor’s Great Prison of the Forgotten, this place can’t keep me here. It’s not too late to give up yet.”

“Stop wasting time and just get us out of here,” Obed gritted out, scowling at his fellow mages. “Once I’m out of here, I’ll make whoever is responsible for this pay.”

“Why are you looking at me? You think I’m the traitor?”

“I told you I’m not strong enough to do this.”

“I’m loyal to Her Majesty!”

“...”

When the mages were ready to break into another quarrel, Planck felt his sleeve and cursed. His antique silver coin was in Wayne’s hand. Without it, he wouldn’t be able to find the key to open the gates.

“Obed, lend me your silver coin.”

“Don’t you have your own?” Obed’s eyebrows furrowed as he stared at Planck. “You old madman, where’s your coin? Why don’t you have it with you?”

The other legendary mages looked at Planck strangely, moving to form a semicircle around him without a word. Wouldn’t Planck, as someone who knew the Great Prison of the Forgotten the best, be most capable of and entitled to projecting it to the Ministry of Magic?

The Great Prison of the Forgotten was also known as the Forbidden Zone of Remains and the Land of the Forgotten. It was the land of fugitives, specifically made to imprison those who had lost their sanity.

At the same time, the Great Prison of the Forgotten was also a sanctuary.

Although the mad individuals were threatening, there were more than a few who managed to recover their sanity; just because someone had gone mad didn’t mean they were beyond salvation. The Great Prison of the Forgotten was a good option in this situation. Just throw those people in, and perhaps over time, they might get better on their own.

The latest madman to hit Windsor was the Lord of the Void—the legendary mage from the Church of Nature, Marshall. The old man refused to set foot in the Divine Realm of Nature, and in his obsessive pursuit of the knowledge available in the void, he lost his mind.

Just when everyone assumed that he was incurable, he woke up and actively descended upon the Chosen Land, arranging a sacrificial ritual with a concrete goal.

He died as quickly and suddenly as he had gone mad, so no one knew what he had been through. One thing was for certain, though. If Marshall hadn’t escaped so quickly, he would’ve been locked in the Great Prison of the Forgotten for the rest of his long life.

The legendary mages were ready to take down Planck and interrogate him for the way out. Planck broke into a cold sweat, protesting while waving his hands. “You know me. I’ve always been a scatterbrain. It’s not hard to believe that I’d forget my silver coin. Trust me. While I’m a lunatic, I’m not stupid. Even if I wanted to do something, I wouldn’t have trapped myself here, too.”

It made sense, but...

“Who knew if you were doing this on purpose?!” Obed glared at him icily. “Speak, Planck. You’re the one who made a deal with the demon, aren’t you?”

“Bullshit!” Planck shook his head, refusing to relent.

Yvette, who had been quiet all this time, slowly opened her mouth and said, “It doesn’t matter what the truth is. If this is related to a demon, Londan will face another sacrifice to hell. We have to get out of here as soon as possible.”

The legendary mages closed in on Planck without hesitation, telling him to surrender. Planck gave up at once and lay down on the ground shamelessly.

“What do we do?”

“Bind him and have him lead the way.”

Meanwhile, Saint Paul’s Cathedral.

The cross on the dome glowed faintly, which Archbishop Gunther noticed at once. He tamped down his shock and pondered, but couldn’t figure out what it meant.

Whatever was happening was obviously beyond his capability. Since the cross wouldn’t trigger a warning without a reason, he quickly opened the Sacred Tome of Golden Law to summon help—not only from the angel who would descend through Renata, making use of her holy spirit constitution, but also Wayne, a reincarnated angel.

Receiving his summons, his contracted angel descended. Their senses were far more sensitive than Gunther’s, and they soon followed the cross’s guidance and detected the unusual situation at the Ministry of Magic’s headquarters.

Ministry of Magic? Then it had better get blown up. The Pope will be happy.

“Are you serious?” ‘Renata’ spoke in a tone beyond her age. “The cross only gave a warning because it sensed a demonic presence. This is a large-scale calamity not limited to Windsor, but hitting the Church of Heavenly Father as well.”

Gunther’s face darkened. “I know. But do you know that after we drove the demon back last time, the royal family took measures to suppress the cathedral again?”

Renata fell silent. After a while, she said, “Let’s deal with the demon first. We’ll talk about the rest later.”

All angels cared about were demons. The church’s interests in the Chosen Land didn’t matter to them, which was likely why the Pope had such conflicted feelings about them.

Gunther could only say yes. He and Renata rushed toward the headquarters of the Ministry of Magic first, while Atori called Mona and told her about the ministry and the demon. The threat was so great that even the cross was triggered. He told her to notify Wayne as soon as she could.

Meanwhile, Wayne was wooing a lady on a yacht sailing the river. He utilized every trick he had ever learned and almost made Filomina forget who she was. When he suddenly received Mona’s telepathic message, he shot to his feet and turned in the direction of the Ministry of Magic.

His sweet words were suddenly interrupted, and Filomina almost fell when he stood up. She rose and grabbed his arm. “What’s wrong? You look tense.”

“It smells of a scheme...” He glanced at her. “Can you feel it? The Ministry of Magic was locked down.”

What does the ministry have to do with the Church of Moonlight? Those hyenas had better all die.

She looked at the distance blankly, shaking her head. “It’s too far away. I can’t sense anything...”

She turned to her young boyfriend curiously. How do you know? You aren’t even a Gold-rank mage.

She believed that it was time for Wayne to reveal some of his secrets to her since they had become a couple, forming a reciprocated relationship.

“The one that locked down the ministry is a demon...” Without explaining further, Wayne had the ship move to the riverbank and terminated the date prematurely.

Although Filomina didn’t care about the ministry, she told the twins to contact the Church of Moonlight’s base just to be safe. If a demon was involved, they should all be alert!

The twins went to the nearest phone booth to make the call. Their expressions were grave when they returned. “No one picked up. We called different numbers, and none went through.”

“!”

Wayne’s mind sounded the highest-level alarm. If both the Ministry of Magic and the Church of Moonlight got cut off, what about the Church of Nature and the Church of Sun?

He rushed to the phone booth and made two calls. When he reached the Church of Nature, the office assistant softly answered the call. As for the Church of Sun, one of the musclehead trainers picked up and spoke in a hardened voice.

“Only after the Ministry of Magic and the Church of Moonlight... Moonlight again? Did they get cursed recently?”

He swore under his breath. Without wasting his time, he ended the call and dialed Auston. He picked up after a few rings.

Hearing Wayne’s report, Auston asked in surprise, “Where did you get the information? Is it reliable?”

“Don’t ask. Just know that a demon is descending, and the Ministry of Magic is entirely trapped. Is there anything you can do?”

“What can I possibly do? I’m a Silver-rank mage. Outside of being filthy rich...” Auston chuckled. “Check the Church of Moonlight’s base, but don’t enter. I’ll send Megan to the headquarters of the Ministry of Magic. If even she can’t deal with it, I can only pray.”

“No offense, but what is your faith, and what are you praying for?”

“I’m praying for death to visit me later.”

“...”

When Wayne hung up, Filomina and the twins were already gone, having left for the Moonlight base in a hurry. He rushed to an alleyway and dove into a manhole when there was no one around. Then he hopped onto Julia and started galloping.

“Mona, where are you?”
