Chapter 665: Chapter 663: Proposal of Marriage (First Release)

Tang Shengyi’s expression changed slightly as he said, ”A predecessor of our Tang Sect is being held prisoner within this back mountain, and the voice just now was emitted by him.”

”If he is a member of the Tang Sect, why is he imprisoned here? Did he betray the Tang Sect just like your second uncle?”

As Xiao Yifeng spoke, his X-ray vision activated, instantly penetrating the back mountain and revealing the situation inside the cave.

In the cave, eight thick Profound Iron Chains bound a man with grey hair who appeared to be in his forties or fifties.

The man’s expression was one of extreme madness; he alternated between bursts of laughter and angry roars. He exuded a powerful aura, but a special poison had been administered to him, suppressing his strength. Otherwise, the eight Profound Iron Chains would likely struggle to contain him.

”No, it’s because this predecessor, while refining a certain poison, decided to test the effects on himself. The drug proved too potent, and my grandfather expended great effort to help him detoxify.”

”What we didn’t expect was that the poison damaged his brain, leading to mental disarray and madness. To prevent him from possibly harming the Tang Sect, my grandfather and father decided to lock him up here in the back mountain.”

”It’s said that this predecessor’s strength and talent were even greater than my father’s, making him one of the foremost experts in the Tang Sect. It’s a shame he’s ended up like this!”

Tang Shengyi couldn’t help but sigh, his eyes filled with a look of pity.

Xiao Yifeng watched the mad strong one with his X-ray vision, his eyes sparkling.

”Alright, let’s go!”

Having said that to Xiao Yifeng, Tang Shengyi left the place with him.

After the two of them had left, laughter and crazed shouts still occasionally emanated from that cave.

As time passed, night fell once again.

Outside the large prison of the Tang Sect mansion, a figure appeared—it was Tang Qing.

”Young Master Tang Qing, what brings you here?”

The prison guard asked Tang Qing as he approached.

”I’ve come to see my father,” Tang Qing stated directly.

”Young Master Tang Qing, the Sect Leader has ordered that no one is to approach Second Elder Tang without permission,” the guard said again.

”I am his son. Isn’t it allowed for me to see him just once? Besides, my father has not been convicted of any crime. What harm is there in a single visit? Or do you really want me to go and call over my granduncle or my grandfather before you’ll let me in?” Tang Qing said coldly, his eyes flashing a chilling light as he glanced at the two guards.

Immediately, the guards’ faces changed, and they exchanged looks before finally saying, ”Then, Young Master Tang Qing, please go in. But you must be quick and not stay too long.”

”Understood.”

Tang Qing huffed coldly and walked inside.

Upon entering the heavily guarded prison, Tang Qing encountered several doors before finally seeing Tang Shihe, who sat alone against a wall, his complexion pale and his aura weak, with iron shackles binding both his hands and feet.

”Father!”

Tang Qing called out to Tang Shihe as soon as he saw him and hurried over.

”Qing’er, you’ve come!”

Tang Shihe’s eyes lit up as he saw Tang Qing appear.

”Father, how are you? I’ve been so worried about you!” Tang Qing said solemnly.

”I’m all right. Grandfather hasn’t left seclusion, and even if I committed a grave crime, Tang Shihai wouldn’t dare do much to me.”

Tang Shihe spoke coldly.

”But Father, what if Grandfather decides to take action against you when he comes out? What will we do then?”

Tang Qing’s eyes were filled with nervousness.

”Even if the old man forgives me, and doesn’t kill me, we will still lose everything; therefore, we cannot just sit here waiting for death.”

A cold gleam flickered in Tang Shihe’s eyes.

”Father, what do you plan to do?”

Tang Qing spoke up; Tang Shihe whispered something directly into his ear.

”Remember that? Do as I said, and don’t let any problems arise. This is our only chance now, father and son.”

Tang Shihe looked at Tang Qing with an exceedingly grave expression as he spoke.

”Don’t worry, Father. I won’t let you down; I will save you!”

Tang Qing said earnestly, then left the place.

”Tang Shihai, I want to see who will be the one to stand tall in the end!”

Tang Shihe’s face was filled with a chill as he spoke, his eyes glinting with frigid ruthlessness.

Meanwhile, in China’s Yanjing.

In a room of the Xiao Family, Xiao Ding and Situ Yan were sitting together.

”I have already contacted the Hidden Assassins. At great cost, I’ve persuaded them to deploy five of their top experts. These five experts, working together, can easily eliminate even those in the Great Perfection of the Qi Condensation Realm, enough to deal with that youngster.”

Xiao Ding said with a heavy voice, his eyes sparkling with intensity.

”Good, no matter the expense, that youngster must die. His performance is exceeding our expectations more and more, even the Dragon Head of the Dragon Soul is so biased towards him.”

”Who knows what identities and backgrounds he has behind him, so we have to completely eradicate him, to forever eliminate this future threat. Otherwise, one day, he will surely re-enter the Xiao Family, and by then, it will all be over,” Situ Yan said with a cold voice, his eyes emitting a serpentine gleam.

”This matter must be kept secret, absolutely not letting the old man find out, or it will be troublesome,” Xiao Ding said in a low voice.

The next day, just as day was breaking, a group from the Tang Sect arrived; it was from the Medicine King Valley. Leading them were the Valley Master Yao Tiancheng, Yao Haoran, and over a dozen ordinary guards of Medicine King Valley.

In the conference hall, which had already been restored to its original state, Tang Shihai, Yao Tiancheng, Yao Haoran, and several Tang Sect Elders were all gathered.

”Brother Tiancheng, what urgent matter brings you to visit our Tang Sect so suddenly?” Tang Shihai asked Yao Tiancheng.

”Brother Shihai, didn’t I hear that you were poisoned again, your body just recovered, and also that you encountered the betrayal by the Vice Sect Leader of Tang Sect? So, I specifically came to see how you were,” Yao Tiancheng said with a smile.

”Thank you for your concern, Brother Tiancheng!” Tang Shihai said with a hint of a smile on his face.

”I have another matter for my visit today, and that is to formally ask Brother Shihai for the hand of his daughter in marriage for my son Haoran,” Yao Tiancheng continued.

”A marriage proposal?” Tang Shihai’s eyebrows furrowed slightly.

”Yes, Miss Tang previously promised in front of the Tang Sect Elders that if my son Haoran could save you, she would agree to marry him. I have already mentioned this to you before, and now I would like to formally arrange their engagement, choose an auspicious day, and invite the various Sect Families to their wedding banquet,” Yao Tiancheng said, smiling.

Tang Shihai’s eyes flickered as he pondered something.

At that moment, outside the conference hall, one of the dozen guards from Medicine King Valley suddenly clutched his stomach, exclaiming, ”Ouch, that hurts!”
