Chapter 180: Chapter 180: The Treasure Was Stolen

A loud thump rang out, and Yamada Taka stepped back, while Wang Tao staggered several steps backwards.

At that moment, all the warriors clashed fiercely with the Azure Dragon Squad, swords and katanas swinging, the battle raging uncontrollably.

As one of the five small squads within China’s strongest Mysterious Organization, Dragon Soul, the combat prowess of the Azure Dragon Squad was naturally formidable and well-trained.

However, the Ishii Clan’s warriors were also remarkably powerful in their own right, and they held a numerical advantage, managing to suppress the Azure Dragon Squad momentarily.

At this critical juncture, the battle between the leading figures of both sides, that is the intense fight between Wang Tao and Yamada Taka, was of the utmost importance.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A succession of explosive strikes sounded as Wang Tao’s fists, imbued with potent power, collided with Yamada Taka’s katana, scattering terrifying bursts of energy; they reached a fever pitch in their fight, demonstrating their immense strength.

”Everything can end now!”

Suddenly, a sinister gleam flashed in Yamada Taka’s eyes as he coldly stated, causing Wang Tao’s complexion to change. He sensed an ominously dangerous aura approaching.

Swish!

Yamada Taka instantly vanished from in front of Wang Tao, sending a shock through him.

Not good, it’s ninjutsu!

Wang Tao quickly realized the man knew Japanese ninjutsu. However, it was already too late.

Yamada Taka eerily appeared behind Wang Tao and struck down fiercely with his blade. Relying on his strong combat instincts, Wang Tao dodged to the side, but a wound still got slashed across his back, causing him sharp pain.

Bang!

Then Yamada Taka appeared before Wang Tao again, launching a flying kick that sent Wang Tao flying, crashing heavily against a car. He slumped to the ground, coughing up blood.

These events unfolded too quickly; within a few seconds, Wang Tao was defeated by Yamada Taka, severely injured by his perplexingly cunning ninjutsu.

”Captain!”

Seeing Wang Tao injured and beaten, the members of the Azure Dragon Squad called out one after another.

”I don’t want to kill anyone. I just want the treasure, so you’d better wise up,” said Yamada Taka, his face cold as he looked at the members of the Azure Dragon Squad.

”No way, the Azure Dragon Squad will fight to the last man,” shouted all members of the squad in unison.

”It seems you won’t realize your place until I give you a taste of real power,” Yamada Taka’s eyes shimmered with a predatory glint as he vanished from sight.

Ahh! Ahh! Ahh!

A series of screams ensued, and those dozen or so members of the Azure Dragon Squad were sent flying, helpless against the onslaught. They fell to the ground, spitting blood, their bodies badly injured.

Seeing his team members hurt, Wang Tao clenched his fists tightly, his eyes filled with frustrated rage. He could only watch as Yamada Taka and his men took all the treasures away.

DH District Branch Bureau.

”What? Chief, you’re telling me the treasure was all robbed by the Japanese? How is that possible? Wasn’t it being escorted by the Azure Dragon Squad? How could it have been robbed?”

Xiao Ruolin said, looking at Dai Li with a shocked expression.

”I’ve just received this news myself. It’s said that those Japanese were very strong, and even the Azure Dragon Squad members got beaten up, which is why the treasure was stolen.”

”The higher-ups are furious now, and they’ve swiftly sealed off all roads leaving Tianhai City. It’s imperative to recover that treasure, and we can’t allow those Japanese to take it back to Japan.”

Dai Li spoke with a solemn expression.

”Director, rest assured, I will definitely find them,” Xiao Ruolin said directly.

”No, you should not get involved in this matter. You are currently needed on another case.”

”What case?”

”We had previously received a report claiming that several double orphan girls have gone missing within our jurisdiction. The parents of these girls are no longer alive, so their disappearances initially went unnoticed.”

”It was only after a grandmother reported her granddaughter missing that we began investigating and discovered that several girls of a similar profile had vanished—all 18 years old.”

”Moreover, we’ve found that this situation has occurred in several other jurisdictions in Tianhai City. In total, more than a dozen girls have disappeared, all of whom are double orphans with nobody left in their families, and all are 18 years old,” Dai Li continued.

Xiao Ruolin’s eyes sharpened, and she asked, ”Could this be a human trafficking case?”

”It’s still unclear what’s going on. You need to investigate this carefully.”

”Yes, Director.” Xiao Ruolin nodded and then left the office.

Meanwhile, in a secluded residence in Tianhai City, Yamada Taka and Mr. Tokugawa met up.

”How did it go? Did you kill that guy?” Yamada Taka asked Mr. Tokugawa with an inquisitive look.

”No, his strength is not inferior to mine, and even the unique techniques of the Yinsha Sect were of no use against him,” Mr. Tokugawa said with a grave expression.

”I hadn’t expected him to be so powerful. However, we’ll have to put this aside for now. The most important thing is to transport this treasure back to Japan as soon as possible. The Chinese government has probably already taken notice of us,” Yamada Taka said in a somber tone.

”How is the Yang Family doing with the twenty girls that my Yinsha Sect needs?” Mr. Tokugawa inquired.

”I’ve been in touch with Yang Haomin. He has gathered them all, and they will be transported back to Japan along with the treasure. Mr. Tokugawa, you needn’t worry,” Yamada Taka replied directly.

At the Ye Corporation, a courier entered and approached the reception desk, saying, ”Miss, this is for Manager Qiu from your sales department. Please sign for it.”

”Wow, more flowers have arrived? Who is so smitten with our Manager Qiu? Truly enviable,” the two receptionists said to each other, their faces full of admiration, and then they signed for the delivery.

”Throw the flowers away!”

At that moment, Wang Meng came over and directed the receptionist.

”But...” the receptionist hesitated, her expression changing upon seeing Wang Meng.

”No buts. If I say throw them away, then throw them away. Manager Qiu won’t like these flowers. From now on, toss out any that are delivered,” Wang Meng said coldly.

”Why throw away such beautiful flowers? That’s such a waste!” Xiao Yifeng’s voice suddenly rang out as he appeared at the reception desk.

Upon seeing Xiao Yifeng, Wang Meng’s expression changed instantly, his eyes showing a hint of fear.

”I’ll take it to Manager Qiu!”

Xiao Yifeng took the bouquet of roses and then eyed Wang Meng, saying, ”Minister Wang, are you still carrying a torch for Manager Qiu? Is that why you’re jealous of someone sending her flowers?”

”No, I am simply maintaining proper order within the company,” Wang Meng said righteously, then turned and left the area.
