Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Her face flushed as she poked Tuanzhang’s head, ”Aren’t you afraid Huo Jinnan will find out and give you a hard time?”

Tuanzhang glared with his eyes and fell silent, looking around with a very subtle expression.

Che Huan wondered if Tuanzhang was deliberately tarnishing his owner’s reputation like the little guy did when he spoke ill of his own father. Was he feeling guilty?

After getting ready, she bought breakfast and went to the hospital with Tuanzhang.

As soon as she entered the ward, Wen Ru’s face changed the moment she saw her, ”Get out, I don’t want to see you right now!”

Che Huan stood at the door holding Tuanzhang, and seeing her mother close her eyes, she bit her lip, ”Mom, then you should rest well, I’ll come to see you another day.”

Wen Ru remained silent.

Disappointment flashed in Che Huan’s eyes. She looked at Tuanzhang, who kept sucking on her fingers trying to comfort her. Her fingers stiffly stroked Tuanzhang, ”Mom, I brought breakfast, I’ll leave it here.”

She walked over and placed it on the small cabinet beside the hospital bed.

Wen Ru opened her eyes, glanced at it, and threw it in the trash can.

”Xiaoru!” Wen Hua saw this from the side and couldn’t help but speak up, walking over to pick up the breakfast from the trash can and put it aside.

Wen Ru didn’t speak, closed her eyes, and tears streamed down her cheeks.

Seeing this, Wen Hua sighed, turned back to Che Huan, ”Huanhuan, you should go back to rest.”

Che Huan nodded and left the ward.

Wen Hua followed her out and gently closed the door, ”Huanhuan, your mom...”

He didn’t know what to say, ”Don’t take it to heart. Actually, your mom does care about you.”

Che Huan nodded without speaking, standing there, looking down at her shadow. Did she really care?

Watching Che Huan’s demeanor, Wen Hua felt uneasy, ”Huanhuan, you should go back to the hotel to rest. I’ll be fine here.”

Che Huan nodded, looked up, and managed a smile at Wen Hua, holding back her tears. She left the hospital with Tuanzhang and wandered aimlessly on the streets for an hour.

The sun was scorching, but she seemed to feel nothing.

On the pavement, she accidentally bumped into someone and quickly apologized.

Tuanzhang watched Che Huan and barked, panting nonstop.

Che Huan glanced at him and realized he was overheating, almost drooling, and quickly hailed a cab back to the hotel.

At the entrance to the hotel room, she saw Wen Nuan.

Wen Nuan stood at Che Huan’s door, ”Cousin, where have you been?”

Che Huan petted Tuanzhang, not mentioning the hospital visit, ”Just took Tuanzhang out for a walk.”

Seeing that Sister Huanhuan seemed in a bad mood, Wen Nuan thought of the call she got from her idol half an hour ago, ”I was waiting for you to have breakfast together.”

Che Huan nodded, ”Sure, let’s go together.”

Wen Nuan smiled, ”Wait for me, I’ll go to my room to grab something and call my mom.”

Soon, the three of them arrived at the breakfast shop outside and ordered soymilk and steamed buns.

Bi Fu looked at Wen Nuan and then at Tuanzhang, seeming like she wanted to say something, but remembering the long heart-to-heart talk with Wen Hua the other night, she swallowed her words.

Che Huan could tell but pretended to be unaware, silently scooping up the soymilk with her spoon.

Wen Nuan tugged at Che Huan’s sleeve, ”Sister Huanhuan, why aren’t you eating the steamed buns?”

Che Huan picked up a steamed bun with her chopsticks, took a gentle bite, and looked at Wen Nuan.

Wen Nuan smiled, ”You’ve gotten so thin, eat more.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Tuanzhang chimed in with two barks.
