The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 629: Chapter 14: Let Me Take You Home

Since last night, Zhou Qiang has not been in good spirits. Although he smelled the medicine pouch given by Que Qiu last night, as soon as they set out today, a slight breeze rose in the desert, and he was like a frightened bird, almost jumping off the camel. It’s surprising that a person who usually seems smart and steady has such poor psychological endurance, which makes Professor Wu, who insisted on bringing him, very displeased. But there’s nothing that can be done now, except to have another assistant ride with him on the same camel to take care of him.

Everyone thought this Oasis Ancient City wasn’t far, but after traveling for two days, they finally saw a corner of it. The sky was dark and brewing the next disaster, oppressing everyone’s mood.

At this moment, seeing a patch of green amidst the boundless yellow sand felt like a mirage, making it hard to believe it was real.

No one had slept much these past few days, all hurrying along the way, as Que Qiu seemed deeply apprehensive about the black sandstorm, urging everyone to seize every moment.

”Green! Is that Oasis Ancient City? Are we finally there?!” shouted an assistant pointing ahead.

”Almost, just another half day. Don’t look at that green, it will cause illusions,” Que Qiu responded.

It seemed close at hand, but in reality, it was still far away. Those without experience would find themselves tantalized by this sudden hope, draining all their energy, and dying on the path to the oasis.

Instinctively, he untied the water pouch to take a sip, only to remember they had no water left.

Even with Tianmiao generously sharing, one person’s water supply for ten people wouldn’t last long.

In the constant journey, the last of the water was gone.

Now they deeply appreciated Que Qiu’s insistence.

If they didn’t come here for resupply, they might truly be trapped in this vast desert of wild sand.

Everyone’s lips were dry and cracked, the yellow sand caking their faces like a layer of mud. Removing the sand goggles left impressions on their faces, and eating sand all along the way was simply unbearable.

Half of them came with the mindset of seeing the world, but where had they ever suffered such hardships? Each person was in a state of disarray, only wishing to quickly reach the oasis to drink freely until satisfied.

Nobody noticed Tianmiao, still as radiant and beautiful as when they first met, cloaked in her cape.

Clouds gathered in the sky, with countless enormous black spherical thunderclouds converging as if they would collapse under their weight at any moment.

”Damn, the black sandstorm is coming, speed up! We must reach there in two hours to fetch water!” Que Qiu shouted back, urging the camel team to quicken their pace.

No time, no time!

The yellow sand was continuously whipped up. Leading at the front, Que Qiu suddenly halted the camel team, raising his right hand with spread fingers to feel the wind’s direction, his tone laced with despair as he said, ”It’s over, the sand wind has come...”

It was like a swarm of bees gathering, tinged with blood red, swirling and rushing toward the camel team.

The camels evidently sensed the dangerous air, and this wind propelled them mercilessly, driving them to frantically run straight toward Oasis Ancient City.

The camels desperately tried to escape the threat of the sand wind, their mouths foaming with white as they ran heedlessly.

Possibly more terrifying than the incoming black sandstorm, this sand wind was.
