The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Chapter 627: Chapter 12: Let Me Take You Home

At this moment, a sudden gust of wind arose in the desert, swirling around the camp and swaying the flames of the bonfire back and forth. The sound of the wind passed behind them, unbelievably resembling the sobbing of a resentful woman.

”What’s going on?” Cheng Luo was about to cry, her heart, which had just calmed down, was now in panic again, as she clung tightly to Tianmiao’s side.

The sound of the wind grew louder, and the sobbing seemed even more apparent.

Everyone shuddered, feeling their hair stand on end, and turned their heads slowly to look around. There was nothing but their own shadows dancing chaotically.

”Tianmiao, I’m so scared,” Cheng Luo said with a sobbing voice.

”Don’t be afraid,” Tianmiao gently patted Cheng Luo’s shoulder.

Que Qiu frowned, his expression largely unchanged.

Zhou Qiang suddenly fell to the ground, his face full of terror, stammering, ”There... there really are eleven... shadows! Help! There’s a ghost! There’s a ghost!!”

This statement caused a stir, and everyone turned to count the shadows, reflected in the firelight, only to find there were just ten.

Zhou Qiang suddenly got up from the ground, screamed crazily about ghosts, and ran out of the camp.

A few of the stronger teachers immediately chased after him, pinning the frightened man to the ground.

”There are no ghosts! You’re seeing things!”

”No! That one! Sitting over there! There’s someone else!” Zhou Qiang’s eyes widened, constantly retreating, his other finger pointing startlingly at Que Qiu’s position.

Que Qiu naturally noticed this, pointing beside him, he asked the senior, ”You mean here?”

Zhou Qiang’s eyes rolled, and he fainted.

The area next to Que Qiu was empty, with nothing there.

Tianmiao took off her cloak, stood up, and shook the sand off it.

After the rustling sound of the cloak, the woman’s sobbing-like winds disappeared.

”Perhaps it was the dehydration earlier, putting too much strain on the body, and then completely relaxing, causing a mental breakdown,” Que Qiu stood up and said, ”I have a calming scent pouch, let him smell it later.”

”Thank you very much,” an assistant said gratefully.

Professor Wu said, ”Stop letting your imagination run wild. He’s just scaring himself. Alright, take him back to rest. We need to travel tomorrow. Don’t be superstitious, you’re all highly educated people, how can you be afraid of these things?”

After Professor Wu’s words, the group finally stabilized their mood.

Several assistants brought Zhou Qiang back to the tent, and one of them requested Que Qiu for the scent pouch to give to Zhou Qiang.

Que Qiu took his sleeping bag and lay down in front of the bonfire; he seemed to dislike sleeping in tents, and as he laid the sleeping bag, he glanced at Tianmiao’s group of camels, which rested quietly there.

Que Qiu lay in his sleeping bag and closed his eyes. However, the scene of Tianmiao shaking her cloak and the mysterious wind disappearing kept appearing in his mind.

She is definitely not simple, absolutely not an ordinary person.

But who is she? Or rather, what kind of being could she be?

Tianmiao and Cheng Luo stayed in the same tent, Cheng Luo fearfully adjusted her sleeping bag close to Tianmiao’s sleeping bag. That made her feel much more at ease.

After being taken inside, Zhou Qiang quickly recovered, and after smelling the scent pouch Que Qiu had given, he was indeed much clearer. He also felt somewhat embarrassed for having been so frightened earlier, especially in front of his crush, Cheng Luo.
