Medical Sage

Earth, Huaxia, Capital City.

As the royal capital of the current dynasty of the Huaxia nation, with a history of five thousand years, its importance to Huaxia is self-evident.

The top city, a global metropolitan with authority. This is undoubtedly a perfect depiction of the Capital City for Huaxia.

And within this Capital City, besides those top government leaders seated upon the highest altar, the other entities, the three prestigious families—Chen, Sunx, Liu—plus the addition of the Xuu Family, are undoubtedly the pinnacles of existence in Huaxia’s elite circles.

Even the few top government leaders in position would show some deference towards the families bearing these four surnames.

The reason behind it is naturally because within these four families, the legendary figures who have survived the Nan Shan ordeal and the Long March, founding marshals, are still alive. And who dares not to show them respect?

The saying ”people leave and tea cools” does not apply to them at all.

However, during the over three years Chen Fei has been away, these four families have also undergone upheaval and change.

Chen Family, Old Master Chen already couldn’t withstand and passed away three years ago. With the loss of this Sea-Calming Divine Needle, the Chen Family, though still powerful, has seen its influence and power significantly decline compared to its peak days...

If three years ago, the Chen Family was still considered top-tier in the Capital City, now three years later, its status in the Capital City’s circles is barely even that of a First-Class.

There’s no choice; there’s no such thing as an immortal dynasty, much less a perpetually prosperous family. Especially on Earth, where people can only live to be around a hundred, when the backbone, the Pillar of the Sky, is gone, what can be done?

Moreover, the sudden and swift passing of Old Master Chen meant that the hopeful and capable third generation of the Chen Family hadn’t yet stepped up.

The only ”slightly promising” individual among them is Chen Zhenjun, one of the two heroes of the Chen Family’s third generation, currently holding a certain department’s ministerial position. But frankly, how could just a ministerial position bear the burden of the Chen Family’s once-great status and such a huge mess?

And what about the other members of the Chen Family? The most conspicuous among them is Chen Zhenguo. But even so, he’s just a deputy minister. With the Chen Family’s current decline, if the minister can’t pull it back up, certainly the deputy minister is of even less help.

The older generation of the Chen Family has already stepped down, hoping to elevate the third generation. But honestly, their influence is still insufficient... the saying ”once the wall collapses, everyone pushes” rings true.

After all, in this Capital City, who wishes for the Chen Family to rise again? Clearly, no one, right?

Perhaps, this is what people mean by ”everything comes around eventually,” isn’t it?

When compared to the Chen Family, though, the situation of the Sunx and Liu families is much better. Because the old masters of these two families lasted one year longer and even two years longer respectively than Old Master Chen.

Don’t underestimate this one year or two. It’s absolutely enough time for the old masters of the Sunx and Liu families to elevate the third generation leaders and representatives to a very high position.

For instance, the Liu Family currently has third-generation members in positions as high as vice state level. And they have two ministerial positions as well—what does this signify?

In comparison, while the Sunx Family is slightly less prominent, they still have two ministerial positions and five deputy ministerial positions among their third generation.

In summary, compared to their former old friends, the Chen Family has been left far behind. No longer comparable.

Additionally, what is particularly noteworthy is the Xuu Family. Compared to the Chen, Sunx, and Liu families, the Xuu Family’s status now is evidently a notch higher.

Why is that? Because, as of today, three years later, Old Master Xuu Dongtian is astonishingly still alive!

If Chen Fei were to learn this news, he would probably be stunned.

Because over three years ago, he had already given Old Master Xuu a ”final diagnosis.” At most, he could only live for another half year after Chen Fei’s departure!

But now, this—how is it possible!?

...

Within the inner ring of the Capital City lies a place called Dragon Tiger Mountain.

Beginning from the foot of Dragon Tiger Mountain, a true five steps per sentry and ten steps per post security is maintained! At sentry posts, hidden places, and main roads, everyone dons military uniforms, holds guns, with piercing eyes, keeping watch in shifts day and night.

If any unthinking person dares to wander here, they might not ask why and let peanuts handle it.

All in all, Dragon Tiger Mountain is essentially a scenic area. Because atop this mountain, there exists the highest administrative level sanatorium in the country—the Dragon Tiger Mountain Sanatorium.

Those qualified to enter here typically fall into three categories.

One, retired ministers with health issues.

Two, members of the Capital City’s Huaxia Medical Group and national experts from the Medical Sage Hall.

Three, family members of retired officials.

Apart from these three categories, no one is allowed access! Unauthorized approachees may be shot on sight, as decreed.

This demonstrates how formidable this place’s status is in the Capital City.

But it was precisely in such a place where, logically speaking, there should be very few people, yet during this time, there were surprisingly frequent comings and goings. This is really against common sense for a place like Dragon Tiger Mountain Sanatorium.

And today was another such day. One by one, Audi cars with intimidating government and military license plates drove up from the foot of the mountain.

The guards at the checkpoint merely stopped the cars, glanced inside, and immediately showed a serious and respectful demeanor.

”Greetings, Commander!” The guard leader saluted with a solemn expression, then signaled to the guards behind him, saying, ”It’s Commander Xuu Wangyang. Let them through!”

”Yes!” With approval given, the guards of Dragon Tiger Mountain gave the green light all the way.

One by one, Audis drove up the mountain, entering Dragon Tiger Mountain Sanatorium.

Xuu Wangyang, the eldest son of Old Master Xuu, is also the most influential person in the Xuu Family besides Old Master Xuu. Two years ago, he was promoted to the position of a certain army group commander and was awarded a major general title.

Recently, he again led his army group to complete a very important mission! Promoted and awarded, he became a lieutenant general. And now, Xuu Wangyang is just fifty years old.

Such a person is already a lieutenant general! The most important thing is that Old Master Xuu hasn’t passed away yet. How far and how high he can go in the future is unimaginable.

However, recently the Xuu Family encountered trouble, and it is quite serious.

Old Master Xuu’s health finally deteriorated, and he has been lying in Dragon Tiger Mountain Sanatorium for a long time, more than a month, perhaps?

Imagine, of the old generation of founders of the nation, only Old Master Xuu is left. If anything happens to his health, even if it is the natural order, it could still stir up a spectacular scene. This is also imaginable.

During the first week of Old Master Xuu’s stay in Dragon Tiger Mountain Sanatorium, those who are referred to as Number One, Two, Three, Four, and Five on the altar all came.

They spent three days respectively with Old Master Xuu in the sanatorium.

During the second week of Old Master Xuu’s stay at Dragon Tiger Mountain Sanatorium, the elder generation and second-generation figures of the Liu, Sunx, and Chen Families also came. No one dared to overlook this matter.

Even if it was just for appearances, they had to complete it.

Like this, up until today, Dragon Tiger Mountain Sanatorium has been slightly quieter.

However, the current Group Army Commander Xuu Wangyang, Deputy Minister Xuu Peiyi, and Old Master’s favorite grandson, Xuu Ji, unless in cases of major events, they visit daily without fail.

Besides, Old Master’s personal guard, Master of the Medical Sage Hall, Elder Xunn Lun, has even taken residence in Dragon Tiger Mountain Sanatorium. He tirelessly protects the Old Master.

Actually, compared to the so-called Huaxia Medical Group from the Capital City, their Medical Sage Hall, apart from having fewer people, surpasses the former in level, status, capability, and medical skills.

Under such circumstances, Elder Xunn, as the Master of the Medical Sage Hall, had no reason to leave.

Getting out of the car, the tired-faced Xuu Wangyang rubbed his face with his hand, forcing himself to be more alert, and was about to head towards the diamond top-level room in the deepest part of the sanatorium.

”Big Brother, wait for me.” From the car behind, Xuu Peiyi got out and immediately grabbed Xuu Wangyang’s arm, tensely and concernedly saying, ”Big Brother, you haven’t slept for two days and nights, go rest a bit?”

Recently, a very important matter occurred in the army group where Xuu Wangyang is, and he must personally oversee it. Now, with Old Master Xuu in poor health and the situation looking grim, Xuu Wangyang hasn’t slept for over two days and nights.

Xuu Wangyang, now over fifty, Xuu Peiyi is worried that if Old Master’s issues aren’t resolved, and her big brother gets exhausted, what will they do?

”Rest? It’s fine, don’t worry, I’m okay.” However, Xuu Wangyang shook his head without hesitation, his face resolute, his straight body slightly trembling, walking towards the sanatorium.

As the ancient saying goes, respect the elderly and provide a proper farewell. Although Xuu Dongtian is not his biological father, he gave him everything in his life. Regardless of the circumstances, he cannot fall at this time, even if he has to hold on until the end.

No matter the eventual outcome.

”Big Brother, Big Brother! Ah...” Seeing Xuu Wangyang so ’stubborn,’ Xuu Peiyi called out a few times, ultimately sighing lightly, shaking her head and giving up persuading Xuu Wangyang to sleep.

She knows her big brother is as stubborn as an ox, and no one can pull him back.

Moreover, she is actually worried now, not knowing what to do...

Everyone faces death eventually.

Is her father really not going to pull through this time?

Xuu Peiyi hasn’t cried in a long time, but now, her eyes are a bit gritty.

In a daze, a figure from three years ago, a young man who held great favor and importance to the Xuu Family, suddenly leaped into her mind.

”If only Mr. Chen were here, just, ah...” With a sigh, Xuu Peiyi understood that Chen Fei had been missing for more than three years, how could he possibly appear like a savior again?

Is this fate? But her father is already over a hundred and ten, living this long is really more than enough.

Shaking her head to console herself with such thoughts, Xuu Peiyi also entered into the sanatorium.
