MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1567: Reviving Electricity (3)

Whir...

Putting a bit of his strength into it, Valyr began to turn the crank, allowing him to overcome the natural resistance of the stator.

Then, feeling like he’d gotten the turning of the stator down to a rhythm, the young man decided to put more of his strength into it, increasing the speed at which the stator’s center rotated.

Hum...

By the time the stator began to slightly hum thanks to his actions, Valyr decided to keep rotating the crank at its current speed, confident that it was now generating enough electricity to light up the bulb.

Yet, when he turned to look at the end of the contraption, the young man’s expectant expression immediately turned into a frown.

”Why isn’t it lighting up?”

Briefly glancing at the stator he was turning, Valyr soon returned his attention to the unlit bulb, uncertain as to why hadn’t lit up yet.

Although he wasn’t pushing the stator to its limits yet, the young man was certain that the stator was already producing a bit of electricity for it to be noticeable.

’Are the wires not conducting electricity?’ thought the young man to himself, only to shake his head at the thought.

After all, Ryvrthe already told him back when he was making it that the material he used to make the wire was the most ideal metal he could’ve chosen for it.

With that, he shifted his attention to the other parts of the contraption. ’If not that... then are the other components broken, then?’

Considering that the rectifier and the voltage regulator they used for the contraption were salvaged from the west wing, Valyr felt that there was a slight possibility of them being broken.

Then again, he might just be overthinking it.

”...Weird.” Taking note of the bulb still being unlit, Ryvrthe also looked at the current situation with an odd expression, his gaze sweeping through every part of the contraption.

Briefly watching how fast Valyr turned the stator’s center, the man went ahead and moved a bit closer to the contraption, only to then place the tester’s probes on the wires.

Although the polarity of the voltage he got constantly differed due to the inherent mechanics of the stator, Ryvrthe was able to confirm that the stator was indeed starting to generate electricity.

Seeing that the wires weren’t the problem, he then moved onto the rectifier, placing the probes directly over the output contacts.

”Not there either,” murmured Ryvrthe after seeing the tester give him a constant reading.

”Since it’s not the wires nor the rectifier...”

Just as those words softly left his mouth, the man decided to take out the bulb attached to the regulator for the meantime and swapped it for the probes instead.

Once he did, Ryvrthe quickly found out why the bulb hadn’t lit up yet.

”Well shit.”

”What’s wrong?” Continuing to keep the stator spinning, Valyr glanced at the man for a bit as he began to draft a new set of instructions in his mind.

”The regulator’s broken,” Ryvrthe replied, causing the former to release his grip on the crank.

Whir...

After making sure that the stator had come to a complete halt, the young man made his way to where the man was.

Whoosh!

Conjuring a small flame on one of his fingertips after that, he then used that flame to melt the connection between the rectifier and the regulator.

Encapsulating the molten metal with a bit of energy, Valyr sent all of it into the furnace for now as he asked Ryvrthe a question. ”Since we’re just testing if it can generate electricity, we can save the regulator for later, right?”

”Yeah.” Ryvrthe nodded, realizing just then that they might have been a bit too hasty in implementing the regulator.

After all, what they were checking for now was whether or not the stator could generate electricity, not whether or not the stator could recharge either the device or the battery.

Considering that the connection the bulb had to the regulator was somewhat loose, it did not take long for Ryvrthe to affix the bulb to the output contacts of the rectifier, confident that the outcome this time around would be different.

Feeling optimistic that they’d now see the bulb light up, Valyr returned to the stator, only to then start cranking it the same way he did before.

Hum...

Hearing the stator start to hum once again due to his actions, the young man proceeded to keep the rotation speed consistent as he slowly shifted his attention towards the bulb.

Fortunately, unlike before where he saw an unlit bulb, the bulb this time around...

...Glowed a faint orange.

”We did it...” Seeing the bulb start to glow under their efforts, it took a while for Ryvrthe to realize that they had succeeded. ”We did it!”

”We actually brought electricity back to Veldanyr!”

Although Valyr had not said anything in response to the man’s words, the young man also felt immense excitement from their success, considering that a lot of things would be made easier for him if he had access to technology.

Setting those outlandish thoughts aside for the meantime, Valyr decided to increase the speed at which he rotated the stator, increasing the light that the bulb in turn.

After feeling like he’d pushed the bulb as far as it could possibly go, it was only then did the young man stop turning the stator, feeling a great sense of relief wash over his body the moment he did.

”Now that we’ve confirmed we’re generating electricity, the next step would be to check how much power we’re producing, right?” Using a recovery spell to remove the fatigue from his arm, Valyr looked at Ryvrthe with a smile as he asked him a question.

”Yeah.” The man nodded at those words. ”Though I hope the stator does output enough power to charge the device itself, I’d still be satisfied if it can only produce enough energy to charge the batteries.”

Hearing those words, the young man decided to refine the set of instructions in his head a bit more, thinking that it would be better for both him and Ryvrthe to utilize a copy to rotate the stator instead.

However, just as he was about to check if his new set of instructions worked as intended...

Ding!
