MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1268  A Lucky Drop

Timing his attack at the very moment the wolf tried to land an attack of its own, Valyr shot out his second mana bolt of the fight, aiming his magic staff directly at the wolfʼs most vital spot.

The head.

Bang!

ʼ-2,155!!!ʼ

Accompanying a string of dark red numbers, the wolfʼs head quickly exploded into chunks of flesh, blood, bone, and brain matter under the might of the mana bolt, causing the remaining sparks of vitality in its body to disappear in an instant.

Thud.

Seeing the headless corpse of the wolf fall lifelessly to the ground in response to his attack, the young man stared at it for a bit before closing his eyes, inwardly thanking it for the opportunity to test out how strong he currently was.

Ding!

Hearing the notification sound go off in his mind, Valyr went ahead and opened his eyes once more, bringing up the notification screen in his mind as he pondered what to do next with the remains of the green wolf.

[With a 10+ level disparity between the user and the opponent, the amount of experience obtained shall be increased by 200%.]

[You have slain a Level 30 Verdant Wolf (Elite). You have gained 31,691 XP.]

”I should store it.” Faintly smiling at the amount of XP he gained from the wolf, Valyr went ahead and stored the green wolfʼs corpse in his spatial bracelet, thinking that the various parts of the corpse would sell for a lot.

Aside from that, even if he didnʼt sell the wolf corpse for cash, he could use its parts to forge various pieces of equipment as an NPC, allowing him to bolster his strength to greater heights.

”Iʼll only bring it out once Iʼm Rank 1 at the very least,” said Valyr to himself as he thought about it for a bit more. ”After all, it would be difficult for me to explain how I got my hands on the corpse of a Rank 2 wolf while still not having a class yet.”

”In any case, I now have a better idea of how strong I am,” he continued, faintly nodding in satisfaction.

Deciding to head back to the village for the meantime, Valyr thought about logging out from the game after converting his share of earnings from the elixirs, only to notice something glistening in the periphery of his vision.

”Hmm?” Turning around to see what that something was, the young man soon realized that it was coming from the exact spot where the green wolf finally succumbed to his attacks.

”An item drop?” Having already stored the wolf corpse in his spatial bracelet, Valyr did not take long to find out where the slight gleam was coming from, being an item that took on the appearance of a long dark green femur bone.

”[Analysis].” Getting the feeling that this bone had special properties to it, the young man went ahead and used his identification skill on it, only to then smile in excitement the moment he found out what it was.

Ding!

To those who pursue the pinnacle of magic, there are three parts to a wolf that are considered valuable: its fangs, its claws, and its bones.

Its fangs could be converted to… description has been omitted.

”What a lucky drop,” said the young man as he closed the screen he brought up, glancing at the bone for a bit more before storing it in his spatial bracelet. ”Although I can only use it once I reach the peak of Rank 1, at the very least I donʼt have to think about upgrading my equipment for a bit.”

As the thought came to mind, Valyr let out a slight chuckle. ”Now that I think about it, is there even a need for me to upgrade my equipment?”

Feeling a bit of amusement at the train of thought heʼd fallen into, the young man soon left the Verdant Woodlands at high speeds, arriving at Daffors Village a bit over an hour later.

…

”That… was some really good sleep.”

After arriving back at the village, Valyr went ahead and rented another room for himself before converting all of the earnings he got from the elixirs into Deltas he could use back on Earth.

Making sure that the Deltas were deposited into his account, it was only then did he leave Greater Beyond for good, wryly smiling as he realized heʼd been in the game throughout the night and the early morning.

Reminding himself to spend less time in the game to fix his sleep schedule back on Earth, Valyr soon fell into the land of slumber, waking up just a bit after the sun had fully set.

”At first, I thought there wouldnʼt be a difference as to whether I sleep here or back on Earth,” muttered the young man to himself amidst his return to Greater Beyond.

”Yet, to think that sleeping back on Earth allows me to feel far more refreshed and relaxed than any moment of sleep here.”

Briefly staring at the bed in his room as he did a few stretches, Valyr soon let out a slight chuckle as he left the inn not long after, heading straight to the outskirts of the village as a thought came to mind.

ʼSince I now know how strong I currently am, I suppose the next step is to prepare for my ascension to Rank 1,ʼ muttered Valyr to himself inwardly, appearing a few kilometers away from the village gates in a matter of minutes.

Checking his surroundings to see if there were any players or monsters nearby, the young man soon sat on the ground as he continued where his train of thought left off.

”In terms of stats, Iʼve already gone way beyond even the requirements of the strongest classes I know in my past life. Iʼm pretty sure I could easily get a Mythic class if that was the only requirement.”

”In terms of advancements, I could probably skip those for the ascension. After all, my friends told me back then that the combat classes donʼt really rely much on them during ascension.”

”And thus, that only leaves me with my skills,” murmured Valyr at the end, scratching the back of his head with a slightly bitter smile, realizing how many skills he currently had in total.

”Considering the fact that Iʼm planning to become a mage, it would only make sense for me to focus on maxing out the essentials first,” said the young man as he gave the idea further thought, pondering over which of the three essential skills he should work on.

”Since maxing out and familiarizing myself with spellcasting and incantations wouldnʼt really take me that much time…”

”I guess Iʼll work on my mana circuit first, then.”
