Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 1095: Chapter 1094: I Want to Be Your Assistant

After Gu Tong had a long, earnest talk with Sheng Guoli,

she just felt her head hurting along with it. Now everyone at the Royal Doctor’s Office was treating her like free hourly labor—whenever they got the chance, they’d rack their brains to find her something to do, terrified she might sit down and rest for even a moment.

As if letting her idle for a bit would be some kind of loss.

Of course, you couldn’t really blame Gu Tong for thinking this way. It was mainly because today, Sheng Guoli had been way too obvious—every thought was practically written across his face.

Gu Tong was the type who saw things clearly. Besides feeling helpless, what else could she say? If she were actually that free, she wouldn’t mind helping out with this little favor. After all, Old Sheng was a highly respected senior; so what if she taught a few more classes and trained a few students for him? But the problem was, she was already juggling several roles at once and didn’t have any Clone Technique; she genuinely felt willing in spirit but weak in strength. All she could do was make a quick escape, in case Old Sheng managed to keep her back for another session of ”psychological counseling” or something.

With that in mind, she directly pulled open the car door and slipped into the driver’s seat. She hadn’t even started the engine when she heard someone knocking on the window.

”Clang, clang—”

What the hell?

Gu Tong glanced at the side window, rolled it down, and said, ”What is it?”

Mo Sinin was standing by the window, her expression slightly serious as she said, ”Ma’am, I—I want to be your assistant. May I?”

Being an assistant was no simple matter; it took years of training to get there.

The bar for live-combat drills was set extremely high, not to mention the need for strong practical skills—neither could be lacking.

Precisely because of this, many renowned mentors had a crowd of intern assistants around them, along with seasoned assistants and so on.

Gu Tong smiled faintly and said, ”I’m not some famous mentor. I can’t really guide you in anything; you know that, right?”

Mo Sinin was slightly taken aback. ”Your track record is already impressive. Teaching me is more than within your ability.”

She had always held Gu Tong in very high regard, seeing her completely as a big-name mentor. Having Gu Tong guide her was absolutely no problem in her eyes.

Now, hearing Gu Tong say that, Mo Sinin couldn’t help but freeze for a moment.

”Impressive track record just means it looks good on paper. I’m not an easy person to get along with, and I don’t think I’d make a good teacher.”

Back when Gu Tong taught at the National Medical College, she’d been forced into it. Her dream had never been to educate people—it was to charge onto the battlefield and realize her own value, to become a combat-type talent. That was her true wish!

Mo Sinin paused slightly and said, ”You’re a good commanding officer. If I follow you, I can learn a lot. That’s enough for me.”

Sometimes, a lot of things really didn’t need that many reasons.

The more you said, the more pointless it became in the end.

One sentence—’it’s worth it’—was enough to outweigh thousands of words.

Gu Tong smiled lightly. ”So you want to follow me and learn, huh.”

Her gaze fell on Mo Sinin. It wasn’t hard to see how tense Mo Sinin was feeling. Gu Tong wasn’t heartless, so she said, ”All right then. You can give it a try first.”

If you don’t try, how would you ever know the result? How would you know whether she was suited to being a battlefield Doctor or not?

Gu Tong wasn’t willing to crush any young person who was eager to improve, so she was willing to give them opportunities. That, too, was a kind of growth.

The sudden agreement caught Mo Sinin completely off guard; she didn’t even have time to react.

Her eyes widened in excitement and she hurriedly said, ”Thank you, ma’am. Please don’t worry, I’ll work twice as hard. I’ll cherish every opportunity and I absolutely won’t let you down...”
