Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 363: 363: The Prototype of the Handgun

Fang Jingye’s mind was solely focused on scientific research, to the point where he was clueless about other matters. Even communicating with his comrades usually felt challenging to him.

When he was previously on assignment with Warhawk Class 1, he faced quite a few setbacks due to this personality. If it weren’t for this, the team wouldn’t have approved his request so quickly when he applied.

Gu Tong curved the corners of her lips but couldn’t help being amused by Fang Jingye. Although she liked teasing people, she didn’t enjoy teasing honest folks, as honest people are inherently endearingly unique.

Or rather, Gu Tong preferred seeing honest people’s silly expressions, so she didn’t want to make them too clever, losing the fun.

Zhou Li secretly observed Gu Tong’s expression and, noticing she wasn’t angry, breathed a sigh of relief...

After all, he knew of Gu Tong’s capabilities. If she got angered, Fang Jingye would likely suffer and not even know why...

”Oh, Gu Tong, sis...” A voice filled with overwhelming joy rang out. There was no need to guess—it had to be Huang Shou.

He dashed over with big strides, a delighted expression on his face, and said, ”Sis, what brings you here...”

Huang Shou and Gu Tong had shared hardships, considered life-and-death friends, so seeing Gu Tong now, he felt a deep sense of closeness.

”I heard big brother Huang and big brother Zhou set up camp with Class 1, so I came to check it out. I hope I haven’t disturbed you.”

Gu Tong sat by the table, adopting a somewhat unceremonious demeanor. Perhaps seeing familiar faces uplifted her mood substantially.

”How can this be called a disturbance... We couldn’t be happier...” Huang Shou hurriedly chimed in with a beaming smile, then leaned in and whispered, ”Didn’t Earl come with you?”

As a matter of course, the couple should have been out together, yet seeing only Gu Tong, Huang Shou couldn’t help but find it odd.

”He’s busy with too many tasks, buried in stacks of documents every day, boring enough to drive someone crazy.”

Recalling the past few days, Gu Tong couldn’t help but vent. Don’t think that Devil King spends every day just training trainees; in reality, the official duties he needs to handle are piling up like mountains.

”I see...”

Devil King, after all, serves as an instructor for Class 1 and has earned Earl’s medal, so it’s natural for him to be busy; Huang Shou could understand.

However, he still sighed and said, ”Lately, we’ve developed a new piece of equipment, a new model... We were hoping Devil King could give it a try... But alas, he’s too busy... It’s such a pity...”

Zhou Li shared the sentiment. Those involved in R&D were wholly absorbed in their equipment, which was certainly correct, but they also needed their superior’s appreciation.

Devil King was a superior they all admired, who had given them a new life, allowing them to fully utilize their talents and engage in the research work they loved. Such a superior had become a belief in their hearts! Hence, when encountering something good, they all hoped Devil King could try it first for an early glimpse.

”A new model?”

Gu Tong keenly caught onto the keyword and immediately became interested; her eyes sparkled as she looked at them, as if she was seeing a toy she liked.

Seeing Gu Tong’s expression, Huang Shou felt a thrill in his heart. He took out a black laser, presenting it to Gu Tong as if offering treasure—

”This is the new model we’ve developed, cool or what!”

The black body of the device, with its cold touch, didn’t feel heavy at all!

Gu Tong played with it in her hands, giving it a gentle toss twice, and exclaimed in awe, ”Isn’t this the prototype of the Type 92 laser...”
