Chapter 1256: Chapter 265: East Africa’s Self-Staged Drama

Three days later.

Nesara, the director, led a formidable group of elite soldiers aggressively towards Jia Wen Chinese Language School.

”Charge in, control everyone, do not let a single one escape.” Nesara said.

Very quickly, Nesara’s policemen stormed into the classroom, and detained all the teachers and more than forty students of Jia Wen Chinese Language School.

At this moment, the principal, Lin Jiawen, heard the commotion and came forward to Nesara, saying: ”Who might you be?”

”I am Nesara, director of the Bangkok Kawa Police Station. I heard about your illegal educational activities, are you the principal of this Chinese school?” Nesara asked.

Lin Jiawen replied arrogantly: ”Yes, I am the principal. What do you want to do?”

Nesara laughed instead of getting angry: ”You are asking me what I want to do? Don’t you know that the wide spread of Far East Empire culture is not allowed in Siam?”

Lin Jiawen’s attitude amused this Siamese police chief; when did a ”Chinese” dare to be so disrespectful to his official uniform?

Lin Jiawen said, neither humble nor arrogant: ”So what, don’t think I will be afraid of the Siamese government, my actions are completely legal and compliant, what can you do to me!”

Nesara was truly angry, he said seriously: ”Very well, I have never seen someone so fearless. Knowing the law and breaking it, indeed, His Majesty the King was correct in suppressing you Chinese people, take them all away.”

Lin Jiawen said without any fear: ”Who dares!”

Nesara did not know where this ”Chinese” got his confidence from, he said: ”I dare, act.”

Unexpectedly, Lin Jiawen shouted in Chinese: ”Brothers, prepare!”

Nesara did not understand what Lin Jiawen was saying, but when his subordinates were about to take everyone away, the teachers and students suddenly resisted.

”They actually dare to resist arrest, teach them a harsh lesson!” Nesara said as he watched these rebelling ”Chinese”.

At this time, Lin Jiawen also lunged forward at Nesara, Nesara struck the audacious Chinese principal with his baton.

After being struck with the baton, Lin Jiawen was not fazed, instead he punched Nesara, and the other teachers and students of Jia Wen Chinese Language School showed equally brave behavior.

These were not ordinary ”criminals”! Director Nesara realized he must strike hard.

He distanced himself and drew his gun, firing at Lin Jiawen, at this moment Lin Jiawen was shot and the other teachers and students finally stopped.

...

August 15, 1916.

Far away in the Nanyang, a major event occurred in Siam, the atmosphere inside the Siamese palace appeared exceptionally tense.

Siamese King Rama VI asked the ministers with a serious expression: ”Is it confirmed, are they really East Africans?”

Siam’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, sweating coldly, said: ”The East African Embassy has already questioned us with evidence, if not handled well, it might cause diplomatic disputes between the two countries.”

”Moreover, East Africa has long been plotting, they intentionally set up a Chinese language school to deliberately lure us, causing a conflict between our people and them.”

Rama VI hurriedly asked: ”Were there any casualties?”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs stammered: ”Thirteen people were accidentally injured and one person was shot dead...”

”Is their identity confirmed? East Africans or Chinese?” Rama VI pursued.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs speculated: ”Possibly... East Africans, but we are sure they were originally Chinese, their identity might be forged by the East African government.”

Rama VI frowned deeply and said: ”The situation is quite clear now, whether those two injured are Chinese or East Africans, we are afraid we cannot peacefully resolve this with East Africa!”

Rama VI is the current King of Siam, he succeeded the throne in 1910, and is the first ruler of the Siamese royal family to fully receive Western-style education, having once studied English, French, and law at Manchester College in the United Kingdom.

His study experience is evidently closely related to the historical background Siam is facing; England and France are currently the adversaries Siam cannot afford to offend.

France took over much of the original eastern territories of Siam, while England threatened Siam from the west, causing places like Patani on the Malay Peninsula to separate from Siam.

It can be said that Siam is the buffer state between the colonies of England and France, which is the main reason Siam could avoid the fate of extinction.

These monarchs with Western thinking, like Rama VI, have some insights, making a series of small-scale reforms, such as establishing modern hospitals, higher education institutions, reforming the military, etc.

However, this Siamese king obviously did not realize a new threat is emerging in the South Sea Region, and will also join in coveting Siam, and this nation is now the one stirring up trouble in the Nanyang - East Africa.

The current tense state of diplomatic relations between East Africa and Siam originated from a small Chinese language school.

The Siam Chinese Language School incident on August 15, 1916.

A Chinese language school blatantly opened in Bangkok, Siam, and extensively enrolled the Chinese children of Siam for teaching activities.

This matter seems mundane, but it is a scheme meticulously planned by the East African government.

Rama VI is an anti-Chinese monarch, after all, the influence of Chinese in Siam is too great, coupled with the decline of the modern Far East Empire, these Siamese monarchs have been pushing for de-”Far East Empire-ization”.

Conflicts will inevitably arise in the midst, and East Africa’s National Defense Security Bureau used Rama VI’s anti-Chinese stance elaborately and set a big chessboard for Rama VI.

Since Rama VI is anti-Chinese, East Africa’s National Defense Security Bureau acted oppositely, establishing Chinese schools in Bangkok.

Opening a Chinese school in Siam is clearly illegal, but the school established by East Africa’s National Defense Security Bureau is legal, this pertains to the 1907 ”East Siam Bangkok Treaty” signed between the East African government and Rama V.

The treaty explicitly stipulated that East Africa has the right to open schools within Siam to offer educational services to the East African citizens in Siam, and the Siamese government shall not interfere...

As for Jia Wen Chinese Language School, it was essentially an East African school run by East Africans, the principal Lin Jiawen was not only East African but also a member of the National Defense Security Bureau, and the other so-called teachers and students were all of East African nationality.

As known, East Africa is a mixed-race country, so finding some ”Chinese” actors was effortlessly simple, resulting in the Siamese government being deceived.

And the East African embassy and National Defense Security Bureau were monitoring throughout, when Director Nesara led people to storm Jia Wen Chinese Language School, the fate of Siamese Kingdom was already sealed.

Certainly, according to Siamese laws, opening a Chinese school is definitely illegal, but the school established by East Africa’s National Defense Security Bureau complies with the ”Bangkok Treaty”, resulting in a legal conflict, as Siamese people couldn’t anticipate East Africa conducting Chinese education in Siam.

Because it’s widely known that East Africa is a German Country, so the Siamese who signed the treaty could never dream East Africa would exploit this point.

It can be said that the Chinese school incident was a play directed and acted by East Africa itself to instigate the Siamese government.

East Africa orchestrated and performed this drama naturally to seek an excuse to go to war with Siam.

While the East African embassy protested to Rama VI’s government, across the Nanyang, East African Pacific Fleet at Kundian Port was also fully prepared, ready to achieve merit in Siamese waters at any time.

At this point, the Siamese government could be said to be isolated, with only England and France capable of influencing Siam now embroiled in European wars, East Africa dominated the entire South Sea Region.

At this time, apart from the Americans, the Siamese government could find no external power to mediate, but the United States obviously couldn’t dictate East Africa’s decisions, as the U.S.’s influence in the South Sea Region is far from as strong as East Africa, the only colony, the Philippines, is currently in a half-dead state, completely unable to stop East Africa’s actions in the Nanyang.
