Chapter 384: Chapter 61 Business_3

Thomas: ”We need to consider market factors here. We can’t just directly find buyers; we have to gradually make contact with American clients, especially those plantation owners, and then let them select the goods.”

Young Chelos: ”So, you’re saying that Haiti is dispensable in this link?”

Thomas: ”Of course not. Actually, I’m just new to the trade, so I’m not very familiar with the American market.”

Hearing that Thomas is a rookie, young Chelos instantly became interested: ”Can you guarantee finding buyers then?”

Caught the hook, Thomas had already inquired before; the Chelos family was involved in human trade, so this worked out fine!

Thomas sighed: ”Alas, in fact, I have been active in the colonies before, and just heard that the slave business was quite profitable. And if Africa has anything in abundance, it’s Black people, so I’m also looking for a way to see if I can make a fortune in the slave trade.”

Young Chelos: ”And you dare to do this business without finding a way!”

Thomas: ”I was also fooled by a friend; he said there were connections in America, but there has been no news for the past two months, so I could only come over from the colonies to have a look. Then I found that Haiti was in a good location, right between the Americas and Africa, so I landed to have a look, and discovered this country is a bit chaotic, so I hope to find a powerful family to partner with.”

Young Chelos: ”Then you found the Chelos family, Mr. Medina, I have to say, you’re quite lucky. We do indeed have a financial path, but I don’t know how much goods you have?”

Thomas’s eyes lit up: ”Really! That’s great, needless to say, we have plenty of goods, no one in all of Haiti has as much supply as we do.”

Young Chelos: ”Your friend is unreliable. Why not do business directly with us? But there is one thing I need to clarify in advance.”

Thomas: ”Please, go ahead!”

Young Chelos: ”No matter how much goods you have, the Chelos family can take it all, and we have our own sales channels that can completely market your goods to America. However, we Chelos family cannot help you for nothing; as the saying goes, the more friends, the more paths. I’m willing to give you an opportunity: for your goods, no matter how much you have, we can take them, but we need to charge a commission, so the money for each Black Slave can’t be too much for you.”

Thomas was overjoyed, exclaiming excitedly: ”Mr. Chelos, do you mean that in this business we are counted as partners, only the profit from selling the Black Slaves, you have to take a share?”

Young Chelos: ”That’s right.”

Thomas: ”Deal!”

An unexpected gain, completely unexpected, East Africa originally planned to make a loss trade, sending Black people to America, but after talking with young Chelos, not only did they not lose money, but they could instead make a huge profit.

However, Thomas still cautiously said: ”Mr. Chelos, our supply is a good few million, can your family take it all?”

Do you want to empty the colonies? Young Chelos said: ”A few million sounds like a lot, but it’s only viable if you can transport them to Haiti. Not to boast, even if we transported ten thousand to Haiti every day, we also have the capacity to send them to America. It’s just minimal profits but quick returns; in a few hundred days, they can all be sold.”

Of course that’s impossible; if there were such transportation capacity, East Africa wouldn’t have taken so many years just to immigrate a few million people to East Africa.

Thomas: ”How about this, we can handle a few thousand people each month, and after making money, we can buy more ships to transport more people over.”

Young Chelos: ”Aren’t you afraid of being confiscated by the British and French Navy!”

Thomas: ”Mr. Chelos, that will depend on you!”

Young Chelos: ”Depends on me?”

Thomas: ”What if these people are not slaves, but Haitians instead?”

Young Chelos quickly grasped Thomas’s intent: ”You mean to disguise your Black Slaves as Haitians? That’s a good idea.”

Young Chelos also did similar business but in the form of a labor company, so he instantly understood ”Medina’s” intention, the two having a similar approach.

Thomas: ”But the identity as Haitians will still require some trouble for you.”

Young Chelos: ”Identity! What identity do Haitians need?”

Thomas: ”Don’t you have passports or something!”

Young Chelos: ”We really don’t have such things, but if you need them, they can be arranged.”

Haiti doesn’t even have passports! But thinking about it, it makes sense; Haiti gained independence from France too early, missing the system development. Thomas: ”Then I’ll trouble you to issue some proofs and the like, so we can also ensure the stability of the supply.”

Young Chelos: ”No problem, a proof is just waste paper. I can arrange it through the President’s Mansion.”

Thomas: ”Then I’ll entrust it to you.”
