Divine Wilderness Dragon Emperor

Chapter 482: Chapter 481: The Second Move

”That Kunpeng Ancestor will be a scourge if we don’t eliminate him,” Sect Leader Yuan said, taking a deep breath.

Over the past few days, he and the other Sect Leaders had been discussing this very issue, planning for the future of the Southern Wilderness.

It was the only thing they could do for the Southern Wilderness at this point.

Even if they could take Beiming Transformation Sea and his people down with them...

...the Kunpeng Ancestor would still remain a menace.

The powerhouses of the Divine Wilderness had to be informed of the situation in the Southern Wilderness so they could devise a way to come here and eliminate this evil.

Otherwise, the Southern Wilderness would be plunged back into an age of darkness.

”The Kunpeng Ancestor is indeed a problem.” Ling Fei nodded in agreement with Sect Leader Yuan’s assessment.

’If this threat isn’t eliminated, even if we suppress the current crisis, it will still endanger the next generation of the Southern Wilderness.’

’To solve this problem at its root, the Kunpeng Ancestor has to be completely obliterated.’

And that was clearly something Sect Leader Yuan and the others were incapable of achieving.

That was why they thought of the Divine Wilderness, and of preserving the Southern Wilderness’s talented youth in the hopes that they could grow strong enough to complete this arduous task.

In fact, the Southern Wilderness still had many Ancient Teleportation Arrays left over from Ancient Times that could lead to the Divine Wilderness.

Back then, King Ji had used one such Teleportation Array to leave the Southern Wilderness.

Over the past few days, the various Sect Leaders had been secretly searching for information on these Ancient Teleportation Arrays to prepare for the future.

”That is why you talented youths cannot take any risks this time,” Sect Leader Yuan said.

Ling Fei fell silent for a moment, understanding the good, albeit difficult, intentions of Sect Leader Yuan and the others.

”But entering the Divine Wilderness won’t be so easy, I’m afraid,” he said.

Lian Shuang had mentioned before that she came from the Divine Wilderness, but she had to pass through the Divine Demon Sea and endure great hardships to reach the Southern Wilderness.

Besides, even if they made it to the Divine Wilderness, growing strong enough would be easier said than done.

To say nothing of finding powerhouses who could obliterate the Kunpeng Ancestor.

’Powerhouses of that caliber are probably exceedingly rare in this world!’

”It is indeed difficult,” Sect Leader Yuan said. ”But it’s still a sliver of hope. If we do nothing, even that hope will be extinguished for the future of our Southern Wilderness.”

”You’re right. As long as there’s a sliver of hope, we can’t give up.” Ling Fei nodded in agreement.

Having lived for over two hundred years, Sect Leader Yuan was naturally thinking much further ahead than Ling Fei.

Their plan to find an opportunity to send some talented youths away from the Southern Wilderness was a gamble for a sliver of hope.

’I hope we can handle this...’ In the end, Sect Leader Yuan could only gaze into the distant Void, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. His only hope now was for the Great Tang Emperor to overwhelm all opposition and stabilize the Southern Wilderness. Otherwise, with just the three of them, even a fight to the death wouldn’t be enough to turn the tide.

「...」

「Great Tang Empire.」

Atop a mountain peak, the Great Tang Emperor gazed into the distant Void, his brow etched with deep worry.

”Your Majesty, are you troubled by the situation in the Southern Wilderness?” A graceful and poised woman with features as fine as a painting approached with delicate steps.

The woman was dressed in courtly robes and wore a Phoenix Crown, and an air of steady composure radiated from her.

As she walked forward step by step, her sweeping gaze gave one the impression that she was as steady as a mountain, capable of wielding ultimate power.

It was the demeanor of a true monarch.

This woman was a consort of the Great Tang Emperor, from the Wu Clan.

Since the former Empress from the Wang Clan was deposed last year, the Celestial Emperor had made her the new Empress. From that day on, she wielded the Phoenix Seal, serving as a model for all women in the empire.

Her Cultivation had also broken through as a result, reaching the Nascent Soul Realm.

”The Corpse Spirit Hall is currently running rampant in the Southern Wilderness, bringing disaster to countless Cultivators and mortals alike. The situation there is dire, and I must go to the Northern Domain to quell the rebellion!” The Great Tang Emperor said, turning to her with a worried expression.

”Your Majesty, must you really go?” The lady of the Wu Clan frowned, a hint of worry in her heart.

Although she resided in the inner palace, she was not ignorant of the world’s affairs.

Especially the battle at the North Spirit Ruins.

Three Divine Mansion Realm Powerhouses had made a move, only to be severely wounded by the Corpse Spirit Hall and Beiming Transformation Sea. It was clear just how powerful the Evil Dao had become.

Moreover, they had received secret intelligence that members of the Kunpeng Race were in the Southern Wilderness.

The Evil Dao’s power now far surpassed that of the Righteous Dao; even if the Great Tang Emperor went to war, he might not be able to overwhelm the opposition.

Thus, she was worried. She had been feeling distressed and distraught lately, sensing that some disaster was about to strike.

”As Emperor, I have no choice but to go.” The Great Tang Emperor took a deep breath, gazing into the Void as he spoke each word with resolve. ”Even if it means death.”

His gaze was heavy, as if he had foreseen something. A sense of sorrow filled his heart, but his unique position left him no choice but to act.

This was his duty.

”If Your Majesty must go to war, could you take me with you?” Lady Wu’s brow furrowed slightly. Seeing that the Emperor’s mind was made up, she posed the question.

”You want to come with me?” The Celestial Emperor glanced at her.

This journey was fraught with mortal danger; he couldn’t bear the thought of bringing his beloved consort with him.

”Your Majesty is willing to disregard life and death for the people of the world, so why should I cling to my own? To share life and death with Your Majesty would be my greatest blessing.” Wu Fei smiled, as radiant and captivating as a blooming peony, yet still possessing an air of regal grace. Seeing this, the Great Tang Emperor was moved, and a smile touched his lips.

”Since my beloved consort wishes it so, then I shall take you with me!” The Celestial Emperor smiled, reaching out to pull Lady Wu into his embrace.

The Great Tang Emperor held a high station and was devoted to his people, but it was a lonely existence that few could understand. Her devotion brought him great comfort.

”Then when will Your Majesty depart?” Lady Wu asked.

”Within the next two days,” the Great Tang Emperor said.

「...」

At that very moment, another incident erupted in the Southern Wilderness.

At the North Spirit Ruins, a powerhouse of the Celestial Corpse Level from the Corpse Spirit Hall launched a surprise attack.

The guards left behind by the various sects were wounded, forced to watch helplessly as the attackers rescued Beiming Shang, Beichen Feng, and the other talented youths trapped within the North Spirit Ruins.

These geniuses had been trapped inside all along, but they had always been able to leave at any time.

They simply didn’t dare to emerge without someone to provide backup.

”Heh heh, now that the Southern Wilderness is in chaos, it’s time for the second move,” Kun Hai sneered in the main hall of the Beiming Sword Sect.

The first move was to have the Corpse Spirit Hall throw the Southern Wilderness into chaos, forcing the various sects into a panic and making them call for aid.

This was only the beginning.

”Heh heh, Hall Master Wei Wuya has already gone to Great Tang. Now, we just have to wait for the Great Tang Emperor to come to us,” Beiming Transformation Sea said with a laugh.

”Heh heh, I’m sure that once this second move is made, the Great Tang Emperor will have to come whether he wants to or not. Then, rescuing the Ancestor will be a matter of Great Success.” Kun Hai was in an excellent mood, looking completely self-assured, as if he controlled the fate of the world.

”So, should we make our move now?” Beiming Transformation Sea asked, his face full of eager anticipation.

He was eager to make a move, itching to strike immediately and sweep through the powerhouses of the Southern Wilderness’s various sects.

”Of course it’s time to move!” Kun Hai stood, a powerful Kunpeng might emanating from him. As the sinister Kunpeng Nether Qi swirled, it was as if the Nether Sea itself was churning around him, sending out ripples. The sheer power of his aura made even Beiming Transformation Sea tremble in fear.
